Use Dynamo Power
Your radio comes with a 3.6V, 300 mA h, Ni­MH rechargeable batte ry pack that can be recharged using the dy namo crank.
1. On the back panel of the r adio, switch DYNAMO/ BATT ERY to DYNAMO.
2. Lift the crank
and rotate it in either direction. The RECHARGE Indicator light s when charging.
Charge time
depends on cranking rate and duration.
For example, turning t he crank at about
2 turns per second for abo ut 90 seconds should power the rad io for about 10 minutes. If playbac k time decreases to less than 5 minutes at this cr anking rate, repla ce the rechargeable bat tery pack.

Power Your Radio
IMPORTANT! Always insert the rechargeable
battery pack when yo u use your radio. Inser t the battery pack plu g into the connector, then p lace the battery pack i n the slot.
You can power your radio in three w ays:
• Dynamo power using the included rechargeable battery pack
• Three AA batteries (not included)
• 5V DC Micro-USB adapter (not included)
Install Batteries (Optional)
Insert 3 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment matching the marked polarity. Switch
DYNAMO/ BATT ERY to BATT ERY.
Battery Notes:
• Dispose of batteries promptly and prope rly. Do not burn or bury th em.
• Use only fresh batte ries of the required size and type.
• Do not mix old and ne w batteries, die rent types of batteries (alk aline or rechargeab le),
or rechargeable batte ries of dierent
capacities.
• If you do not plan to use th e radio for a long time, remove the batter ies. Batteries ca n leak chemicals tha t can damage elec tronic parts.
Use a Micro USB Adapter (Optional)
You can listen to the radio and charge the radio’s batter y pack at the same time. Conn ect a 5V DC Micro-USB adapter (not suppl ied) to the DC IN jack. Using t his method, the battery pack requires about 12 hours to fully ch arge.
Notes:
• Your adapter must suppl y 5V DC and deliver
at least 500mA . Its plug must  t your radio’s
5V jack. Using an adapte r that does not meet
these specicati ons could damage you r radio
or adapter.
• Batteries shou ld NEVER be lef t unattended while charging. On ly adults sho uld charge the batteries. Use ca ution when using t he charger to avoid electr ic shock.
• Do not disassembl e the charger or batte ry pack. Incorrect asse mbly can result in ri sk of
electric shock or  re.

Connect Headphones
Connect headphones with a 1/8-in. (3.5 mm) plug (not supplied) to the headphone jack s. The speaker will automatically mute.
Listening Safely
Do not wear headphones, earphones, or earbuds while ope rating a motor vehicl e or riding
a bicycle. This can create a t rac hazard and
could be illegal in s ome areas. To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines:
• Do not listen at high vo lume levels. Ex tended high-volume listeni ng can lead to perma nent hearing loss.
Weather Alerts
To hear weather alerts, se lect the WX band and press ALERT. The ALERT indicator lig hts. When an alert is received, t he ALERT indicator a shes, and the radio beeps . Press ALERT to listen to the weather band broadcasts.
Charge Other Devices
Using power from the rad io's rechargeable battery pack, you c an charge a device with U SB­charging capabilities (USB cable not included).
1. Connect your device (not included) to the USB port on the side panel using a USB cable (not included) with a tip that matches your device (maximum charging voltage and current 5V/500mA). Refer to your device to check the chargi ng status.
2. Slide the USB ON/USB OFF switch on the back panel of the ra dio to ON when charging, and switch to OFF when nished.
• Set the volume to th e lowest setting. T hen turn on your audio devi ce and adjust the volume to a comfortab le level.
• Avoid increasing the volume. Your ears will adapt to the volume level , so a level that does not cause discomfort cou ld still damage yo ur hearing.

Use the Radio
Set the Time
1. Press and hold BAND for 3 second s until
the time display ash es.
2. Press VOL + to set the hour. Press VOL - to set the minute, Press and ho ld VOL + or
VOL - to set quickly . Press BAND to exit .
Note: The radio will exit the time-setting mode
if you do not press any buttons fo r 10 seconds.
Listen to Your Radio
1. Extend the antenn a (for FM and WX). Press 1POWER to turn on the radio.
3. Press VOL + and VOL - to adjust the
volume.
3. Press BAND to select a radio band.
4. Press UP and DOWN to tune to a station.
5. Press SCAN to automatically tune to a
station.
Notes:
• For best FM/WX rece ption, fully ex tend the telescopic antenna.
• The radio has a bui lt-in AM antenna. Rotate your radio to improve recepti on.
