FEATURES
Shared-cache architecture
Industry-leading scalability
Foundation for Cloud Computing
QLogic’s FabricCache 10000 Series Host Bus Adapters utilize a flash-based server-side cache to optimize I/O between the server and storage. This provides significant benefits to I/O-intensive applications such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). IT organizations can use QLE10000 to accelerate their RAC database infrastructure, providing greater utilization, better I/O throughput and reliability.

Oracle Real Application Clusters
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) provides unbeatable fault tolerance, performance, and scalability with no application changes necessary. Oracle RAC is a cluster database with a shared buffer cache architecture that overcomes the limitations of traditional shared nothing and shared-disk approaches to provide a highly scalable and available database solution for all your business applications. Oracle RAC provides the foundation for private cloud

QLogic FabricCache 10000 Host Bus Adapter
QLogic’s QLE10000 is a Host Bus Adapter (HBA) with a serverside cache that seamlessly integrates with your SAN fabric. By maintaining a server-side cache, frequently-accessed data is brought closer to the server application. The QLE10000 supports virtually all clustered and/or virtualized applications transparently, including Oracle Real Application Clusters.
The QLE10000 is operating system independent, and functions like a standard QLogic HBA.
Oracle RAC and QLE10000 – Extending Database Performance
By providing applications with the ability to spread their database activity across multiple servers, RAC provides applications with data
access that is efficient, scalable, and fault tolerant. QLogic’s
QLE10000 caching Host Bus Adaptor provides RAC with I/O access that is faster than always directly accessing the storage system across a SAN fabric. This means that RAC workload on each node (server) can scale further because disk I/O is less likely to become a bottleneck for RAC.
