WARNINGS
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
• WARNING: Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
• WARNING: Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all instructions before operating the appliance and keep them for future reference.
• Do not use the kettle to heat anything other than water. Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication.
• Always turn off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use and before cleaning.
• Do not move the kettle during the heating process.
• Do not open the kettle lid when in operation.
• Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place anything on top of the lid.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in fire, electrical shock or injury.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Be careful when opening the lid immediately after the water has boiled, the steam coming out of the kettle is very hot constituting a risk of scalding.
• Make sure the bottom of the kettle and the power base are dry before placing the kettle onto the power base.

OPERATION
Before first use, it is recommended to operate the kettle for 2 to 3 times following the instructions below. This will remove any dust or residues remaining from the manufacturing process.
1. Place the power base on a dry, flat and stable surface.
2. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button and then lifting the lid upwards.
3. Fill kettle with desired amount of cold water.
• Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks on the water level window.
4. Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place.
5. Place the kettle on the power base and insert the plug into the mains socket.
6. Press the power switch. The water is being heated.
• The indicator light inside the kettle will illuminate.
7. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled.
• The indicator light will go out.
• You can stop the boiling process by setting the power switch to the 0 (Off) position.
8. Lift the kettle from the power base and then slowly pour the boiling water.
NOTE: Use the kettle only when the lid is closed and the filter is in place.
Cut-out for boil-dry protection
If you operate the kettle without water, the kettle will stop heating and automatically switch off. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re­boiling.

CLEANING AND DESCALING
Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
• Clean the exterior of the kettle and the power base using a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
• Clean the interior of the kettle with a soft sponge and warm, soapy water. If you hand does not fit in the lid opening, swish warm, soapy water around inside the kettle with the lid closed. Rinse any remaining soapy water from the kettle.
• Remove the mesh filter from the spout. Clean it under running water and then replace it.
• Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning agent.
• Never immerse the kettle and the power base in water.
• Regularly descale the kettle using a specific descaler.
