WARNINGS
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
The appliance is only to be installed in locations where it can
be overseen by trained personnel.
The appliance must not be immersed.
The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
WARNING: Risks of injuries if you don't use this appliance
correctly.
The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after
use.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact

with food, refer to the section “Cleaning and descaling” on page 4.
The appliance must not be cleaned by a water jet.
The appliance is not suitable for installation in an area where
a water jet could be used.
The appliance is only to be installed in locations where its use
and maintenance is restricted to trained personnel.
This appliance is indoor use only.
The appliance shall be disconnected from its power source
during service and when replacing parts and, if that the removal of the plug is foreseen, it shall be clearly indicated that the removal of the plug has to be such that an operator can check from any of the points to which he has access that the plug remains removed.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all instructions before operating the appliance and keep them for future reference.
Only operate the appliance on a flat level surface that is adequate to support the
weight when full of water and keep it away from the edge of a counter to avoid accident.
Do not place the appliance near a hot gas or electric burner or near any hot surface. Do not use outdoors. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In case of
damage, return it to the nearest authorized service agent for examination and/or repair.
Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use
and before cleaning.
Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the cord to
disconnect the appliance from the mains socket.
NEVER attempt to move the urn when it is full of hot water! Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
Always put water in the urn before switching on.

To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water. Do not overfill the urn as there is a risk that boiling water will be ejected from
around the lid.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may
result in fire, electrical shock or injury.
Do not operate the appliance without the lid securely fastened.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove all packaging materials. Make sure all your items are received in good
condition.
Wash all the accessories in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe the body with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners. Do not immerse the appliance, cord or
plug in water at any time.
OPERATION
1. Place the appliance upright on a dry, steady and flat surface.
2. Fill the urn with cold water up to the MAX level.
3. Twist the lid in place on the urn and plug in the appliance.
4. Switch on the appliance and then turn the temperature control to the desired
setting.
5. The RED indicator light will illuminate when water is boiling and when the water is
ready to serve, the RED indicator light will go out whilst the GREEN indicator light will illuminate.
CAUTION:
Never open the lid while the appliance is in boiling process. Do not touch the urn exterior while in use.

6. Depress the tap lever to the horizontal position to dispense water. Close the tap by
returning the lever to the vertical position.
7. Always make sure there is at least minimal water in the urn (see water gauge – up to
refill mark) to prevent cut-out or boil-dry. When there is less than 3 cups of water remaining, turn off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket.
Using the strainer to make coffee
1. Fill the urn with cold water to the desired level. Do not overfill.
2. Fit the percolator tube to the bottom of the urn and place the strainer on the
percolator tube.
3. Spread the ground coffee evenly into the strainer.
4. Twist the lid clockwise until it is locked into place.
5. Switch on the appliance and set the temperature control at 100°C.
6. When coffee is ready to serve, the GREEN indicator light will illuminate.
Boil-dry protection
If the water level is too low, the appliance will stop heating and automatically switch off. If this occurs, switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket and then allow it to cool.
CLEANING AND DESCALING
Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
Remove the lid, strainer and percolator tube. Clean them under
running water.
Always rinse the urn immediately after each use.
Pour small amount of hot water into the urn, brush sides, and rinse with hot water until it runs clean. Clean the interior of the urn with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning agent. Never immerse the appliance in water.
Regularly descale the urn using a specific descaler.
