IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the
following
• Read the instructions carefully before operating this appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from power outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before
cleaning.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or
is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility
for examination, repair or adjustment.
• The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric
shock or injury to persons.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let power cord or the extension cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot
surfaces.
• Do not place place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Always close lid from the kettles when in use.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
• The USA-version of this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As
safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug doesn’t fit fully in
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still doesn’t fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
defeat this safety feature.

• Do not yank on any cord to disconnect.
• Never plug appliance in where water floods the area.
• Place the appliance on a firm and stable surface.
• Ensure that the appliance is not placed so close to the edge of the table, worktop, etc. that it may
be knocked off. Remember it is filled with hot water.
• The hotplate can get extremely hot: be careful and keep children away.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or in any other liquid.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or if the cord is damaged. Send it back to
our service department. A damaged cord can only be replaced by our service
department, as special tools are needed for this.
• Do not use any abrasive or scouring cleaning agents.
