BEFORE USING TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME

Clean the outside of the toaster as described under “CLEANING”. With the Browning controls adjusted to the maximum setting, operate the toaster without bread for 3-4 minutes. During this time the toaster may emit some odours. These odours are normal for a toaster being used for the first time. The room should be ventilated during this period.
Allow the toaster to cool to room temperature. The toaster is ready now for normal use.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Ensure lever is in the up position before plugging toaster into wall outlet.
2. Select the desired level of browning on the browning control. This will vary according to the moisture content and thickness of the bread; old bread toasts quicker than fresh.
3. After selecting the desired level, place bread in slots and press l ever downwards unt i l it locks. When toasting only one slice, set the browning control to a lower setting –any slot can be used. Toaster slot will automatically adjust to accommodate different bread thickness. This toaster features 2 independent sets of controls for either the left two slots or the right two slots.
4. Once the browning level has been reached, the bread will pop up automatically. The bread carriage will have returned to its up position and have disconnected the element; it is now ready for the next toasting.
5. If the toast jams in the slots, the toaster must be unplugged and the bread removed only when the toaster has cooled down. Do not use any metal implements.
6. Cancel Button: if you wish to cancel the toasting cycle at any stage during its operation, depress the cancel button. Remember that both of the stop/cancel buttons must be pressed if you want to stop all four slices from being toasted
7. Ensure lever is in up position before disconnecting.
