SAFETY INFORMATION
For the proper use, maintenance and storage of this battery, it is critically important that you read and understand the instructions and warnings given in this manual. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, re and/or serious
injury.
To avoid serious injury, risk of re, explosion
and danger of electric shock or electrocution:
DO NOT probe the charger with conductive materials.
DO NOT use a battery pack that is damaged or modied. Damaged or modied batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in re, explosion or risk of injury. DO NOT insert
into the charger. Replace the battery pack.
DO NOT charge these battery packs with any other type of charger. For use only with PPB40CGR charger.
DO NOT allow liquid inside the charger.
DO NOT try to use the charger for any
other purpose than what is presented in this manual.
When charging, make sure temperature is between 6-40°C (43-104°F), -13-50°C(8­122°F) for discharge.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, ush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
WARNING
: If the battery uid gets
in your eyes, ush immediately with clean
water for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention. Do not charge the battery pack in rain or in wet conditions. Do not
immerse the tool, battery pack, or charger in water or other liquid.
SAFETY NOTES AND PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not disassemble the battery.
2. Keep battery out of reach of children.
3. Do not expose the battery to water or salt water, and should place the battery in cool and dry environment.
4. Do not place the battery in high-
temperature locations, such as near a re,
heater, etc.
5. Do not reverse the positive terminal and the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Do not connect the positive terminal and the negative terminal of the battery to each other with any metal objects.
7. Do not knock, strike, step on the battery.
8. Do not solder directly onto the battery or pierce the battery with nails or other edge tools.
9. In the event that the battery leaks and the
uid gets into one's eye, do not rub the
eye. Rinse well with water. Immediately discontinue use of the battery if the battery emits an unusual smell, feels hot, changes color, changes shape, or appears abnormal in any other way.
10. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together
may cause burns or a re.
WARNING:
To avoid risk of re,
electric shock, or electrocution:
Do not use a damp cloth or detergent on the battery or charger.
Always remove the battery pack before

cleaning, inspecting, or performing any maintenance on the tool.
Do not allow the battery pack or charger to overheat. If they are warm, allow them to cool down. Recharge only at room temperature.
Do not allow small metal items or material such as steel wool, aluminum foil, or other foreign particles into the charger cavity.
Unplug the charger before cleaning and when there is no battery pack in the cavity.
Do not place the battery pack in the sun or in a warm environment. Keep at normal room temperature.
Do not try to connect two chargers together.
CHECKING BATTERY CAPACITY
Press the Battery Capacity Indicator (BCI) button. The lights will illuminate according to the batteries current power level. See chart below:

CAUTION
:
Do not use strong
solvents or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic components. Certain household cleaners may cause damage and may also cause a shock hazard.
CLEANING
1. Wipe the outside of the charger with a dry,
soft cloth. Do not hose down or wash with water.
ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE BATTERY DISPOSAL
The following toxic and corrosive materials
are in the batteries used in this tool battery
pack: Li-ion, a toxic material.
WARNING
:
All toxic materials must
be disposed of in a specied manner to
prevent contamination of the environment. Before disposing of damaged or worn out Lithium-ion battery packs, contact your local waste disposal agency, or the Environmental
Protection Agency for information and specic
instructions. Take the batteries to a local
recycling and/or disposal center, certied for
Li-ion disposal.
WARNING
:
If the battery pack
cracks or breaks, with or without leaks, do not recharge it and do not use. Dispose of it and replace with a new battery pack. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT! To avoid injury and
risk of re, explosion, or electric shock, and to
avoid damage to the environment:
• Cover the battery's terminals with heavy-
duty adhesive tape.
DO NOT attempt to remove or destroy any of the battery pack components.
DO NOT attempt to open the battery pack.
If a leak develops, the released electrolytes are corrosive and toxic. DO NOT get the

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The battery pack cells may develop a small leak under extreme usage or temperature
conditions.
If the battery will not be used for 3 months or more, please store the battery in a room temperature environment. Please fully charge before storage.
If the outer seal is broken and the leakage gets on your skin:
Use soap and water to wash
immediately.
Neutralize with lemon juice, vinegar, or
other mild acid.
If leakage gets in your eyes, follow instructions above and seek medical attention.

CHARGING PROCEDURE
CHARGER SPECIFICATIONS
1. Plug the charger into an AC power outlet.
2. Insert the battery pack (1) into the charger (2).

CHARGER MOUNTING
1. This charger can be installed hanging on a wall using two screws (not supplied).
2. Locate the wall mounting placement on bottom of charger.
3. If fastening to wood studs use 2 wood screws.
4. Drill two holes 2 3/8” (6 cm) on center ensuring they are level.
5. If fastening to drywall use wall anchors and screws to secure the charger to the wall.
CHARGER MAINTENANCE
Keep the charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material into the recessed cavity or on the contacts. Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents, water, or place in wet conditions.
Unplug the charger when there is no battery pack in it.
Fully charge the batteries before placing them in storage.
Store the charger at normal room
temperature. Do not store it in excessive heat.
Do not use the charger in direct sunlight. Recharge at room temperature between 32 and 104°F (0 and 40°C).
If the battery pack is hot, allow it to cool down before charging.
WARNING:
In order to avoid
personal injury and the risk of re and electric
shock, remove the battery before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the battery.

If the battery and the charger won’t be used for a long time, please remove the battery from the charger and pull out the AC power plug.

LIMITED WARRANTY
POULAN PRO, a division of Husqvarna
Consumer Outdoor Products N.A., Inc., hereby warranties this battery and charger, to the original purchaser with proof of purchase, for a period of two (2) years against defects in materials, parts, or workmanship.
POULAN PRO, at its own discretion will repair or replace any and all parts found to be defective, through normal use, free of charge to the customer. This warranty is valid only for units which have been used for personal use that have not been hired or rented for industrial/commercial use, and that have been maintained in accordance with the instructions in the owner’s manual supplied with the product.
Battery carries a two (2) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. Batteries must be charged in accordance
with the operator's manuals directions and
regulations in order to be valid.
This warranty is not transferable. This warranty does not cover damaged parts from improper handling, commercial use, abuse, neglect, accident, improper maintenance, alteration, or the use of accessories and/or
attachments not specically recommended by
POULAN PRO for this product. Additionally, this warranty does not cover parts that will wear from normal use, and normal
deterioration of the exterior nish due to use or exposure. This warranty does not cover
predelivery setup, or normal adjustments
explained in the instruction manual.
Transportation Charges: Transportation charges for the movement of any power equipment unit or attachment are the responsibility of the purchaser. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to pay transportation charges for any part submitted for replacement under this warranty unless such return is requested writing by POULAN
PRO.
