cluding smoking, open flames, or work that
cancause sparks)intheareas wherefuel is
mixed, poured, or stored.
Mix andpour fuel in an outdoor area; store

ELECTRICALSAFETY (for electric
powerheads)
WARNING:
ronment. Toreducethe risk of electrical shock,
do not use in rain, in damp or wet locations, or
around swimming pools, hot tubs, etc. Do not
expose to snow, rain, or water to avoid the possibilityof electrical shock. Do nothandleextension cord plug or unit with wet hands.
Use only a voltage supply as shown on the
D
nameplate of the powerhead.
Avoid dangerous situations. Do not use in
D
presence of flammable liquids or gases to
avoid creating a fire or explosion and/or causing damage to unit.
Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use
D
in unventilated areas or where dust or explosive vapors can buildup
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, use
D
extension cords specifically marked as
suitable for outdoor appliances. The electrical ratingofthe cordmustnotbe less than
the rating of the unit. The cord must be
marked with the suffix “W-A” (in Canada,
“W”). Make sure your extension cord is in
goodcondition. Inspect extension cord beforeuseand replace ifdamaged. An undersized extension cord will cause a drop in
line voltage resulting in loss of power and
overheating. Ifin doubt, usethe nextheavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number,
the heavier the cord.
Do not use multiple cords.
D
The powerheadmay have a polarized plug
D
(one blade is wider thanthe other); if so, it
will require theuseofa polarized extension
cord. Theapplianceplug will fitintoapolarized extension cord only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the extension
cord, reverse the plug. If theplug still does
not fit, obtain a correct polarized extension
cord. A polarized extension cord will requiretheuseofa polarizedwalloutlet. This
plugwill fitintothe polarizedwall outletonly
oneway. Ifplugdoesnotfitfullyinto thewall
outlet, reversetheplug. If it still does notfit,
contact a qualified electrician to install the
properwall outlet. Donotchangetheequipment plug, extension cord receptacle, or

DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
Y ourpowerhead should be double insulated
tohelpprotectagainstelectric shock. Double
insulation construction consists of two separate “layers” of electrical insulation insteadof
grounding. Tools and appliances built with a
double insulation system are not intended to
begrounded.Safetyprecautions must be observed when operating any electrical tool.
The double insulation system only provides
addedprotectionagainstinjury resulting from
an internal electrical insulation failure.
WARNING:
powerhead,includinghousing,switch, motor,
etc.,mustbediagnosedandrepairedby qualified service personnel. Replacement parts
foradoubleinsulated appliancemustbeidentical to the parts they replace. A doubleinsulated appliance is marked with the words
“double insulation” or “double insulated”.The
symbol
be marked on the appliance. Failure to have
the unit repaired by your authorized service
dealer can cause the double insulation construction to become ineffective and result in
serious injury.
