BED SAFETY
Posey® Padded Side Rail Covers
The Posey Padded Side Rail Covers are designed for Hill-Rom beds outfitted with rectangular split side rails (Fig. 2), including the Hill-Rom Centra® 850/852 beds and the Hill-Rom Century® 835/837/840/842 beds.
Bed rails may be raised or lowered without removing the padded protective cover. The covers are designed with clear vinyl windows specifically for controls located in the upper rails of Hill-Rom Centra® beds, but can also be used on other Hill-Rom beds noted above, as well as the lower rails. Meets CA #117, Section E Flame Retardancy Standards.

Monitoring
Posey Padded Side Rail Covers will not prevent a
determined patient from exiting the bed, going over or attempting to go between or through side rail gaps. ALWAYS follow your facility’s policies and procedures for patient assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation.

Application Instructions:
1. Inspect product prior to use. DO NOT use soiled or damaged
products.
2. Slip side rail covers over each of the upper side rails. Note the
orientation of the clear windows on Hill-Rom Centra® beds (Fig. 1).
3. Secure hook and loop fasteners along the bottom of the padded
protective cover.
4. Lower and raise the side to ensure proper operation and that
the cover does not interfere with the lowering of the releasing mechanism.
5. Check for proper fit. Modified beds may not be compatible with
Posey Padded Side Rail Covers.
Cleaning Instructions:
Wipe clean with soap and water or disinfectant. DO NOT use cleaners that contain Phenol or Benzyl.

Disposal
Properly dispose of the product per
facility’s policy for BIOHAZARDOUS materials.
Storage And Handling
This device is designed for use in normal indoor environments. This device may be stored in ambient warehouse temperatures at normal humidity levels. Avoid excess moisture or high humidity that may damage product materials.
