Whenever the water in the dirt container (L) is very dirty, replace it as described in the section on “Emptying and cleaning the dirt container”. When dirt in the dirt container (L)
reaches the maximum permitted level, vacuuming will be
automatically shut down by the safety float (P) (you will hear
the motor running faster).
CAUTION: turn off the appliance and do not start it up again
until you have put water in the container as described in the
section on “Emptying and cleaning the dirt container”. If you

Wind up the cable on the pins (O) before putting your Mondial Vap away (fig.6).
Before steam-treating leather, special fabrics and wooden
surfaces, refer to the manufacturer’s care instructions and
always test by applying steam to a hidden corner or sample
of the material. Let the steam-treated part dry and then
check it for colour changes or deformation.
DO NOT USE ON DRAYLON, VELVET OR SIMILAR SENSITIVE FABRICS.
Be very careful when cleaning wooden surfaces (furniture,
doors, etc.) and brick floors, as excessively prolonged use
of steam could damage the wax, polish or colour of the surfaces.
Apply steam to surfaces of this kind only for brief intervals,
or clean them with a cloth to which you have applied steam.
On particularly delicate surfaces (such as synthetic materials, lacquered surfaces, etc.) use only the minimum steam
setting. When cleaning glass in cold weather, preheat the
glass by starting to spray from about 50 cm away. Spray
plants from at least 50 cm away.
This brush is intended for use on large surfaces, tiled and
stone floors, hardwood floors, carpets, etc..
• Brush attachment (11), for vacuuming only.
• Liquid vacuum attachment (12), for vacuuming up spills
on smooth surfaces.

• Apply steam evenly over the surface to be cleaned to dissolve dirt.
• Press the rubber wiper onto the surface to be cleaned,
working vertically, from the top down, with the vacuum
function on.

frames, door jambs, aluminium sections;
• cleaning around the base of taps;
• cleaning shutters, radiators, car interiors;
• spraying houseplants from a distance;
• eliminating odours and creases from clothing.
The 120° tool may be applied directly to the handle (2) or
connected to the hose with extension tubes (9). The 120°
tool may be used in combination with the following accessories:
• coloured 120° brushes (16), recommended for removing
encrustations from narrow surfaces such as gas rings,
shutters, spaces between tiles, bathroom fixtures, etc..
They are colour-coded so that you can always use the
same brush for the same surface.
• Steam nozzle (17), recommended for getting into hard-toreach corners and cleaning radiators, door and window
frames, bathroom fixtures and shutters. To connect the
nozzle to the 120° tool simply screw it on just like the coloured brushes, which can in turn be screwed onto the
nozzle. TAKE CARE WHEN APPLYING, THE METAL TIP
OF THE NOZZLE REMAINS VERY HOT FOR SOME
TIME AFTER USE.
• 120° tool nozzle (18), recommended for vacuuming up
dirt that has been dislodged from narrow surfaces such as
the gaps between tiles, door jambs, gaps in shutters, etc..
• Always make sure that the appliance is unplugged before
performing any maintenance on it.
• Let bristles cool down in their natural position after using
brushes to prevent deformation.
• Periodically inspect the gaskets on the unit plug (6). Replace them with original spare parts when necessary. Also
inspect the gaskets on the extension tube (9) and handle
(2) connections. Clean the outside of the appliance with a
damp cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents, which
could damage the plastic surface.
• Turn off the appliance with the main switch (A) and unplug it.
• Release the two levers locking the dirt container (K) in
place and slide the container (L) out of the appliance
(fig.2).
• Remove the filter on the air outlet (Q) from its housing and
clean it with a brush with stiff bristles; if the filter is not
clean enough, rinse it with water and let it dry. Replace
the filter if it appears to be damaged, to prevent it from
compromising the appliance’s performance.
• If you wish to continue working, reassemble the filter by
performing the procedure described above in reverse.
The filter will last about 100 hours of operation.
This unit is designed to operate on 240V, 50 Hz current
only. Connecting it to other power sources may damage the
unit.
WARNING -This appliance must be earthed.
This appliance may be fitted with a non rewirable plug, if it is
necessary to change the fuse in a non rewirable plug the
fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement, available from the appliance manufacturer, is obtained. It is important that the colour of the replacement fuse cover
corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the
plug.
If the plug requires to be changed because it is not suitable
for your socket, or becomes damaged, it should be cut off
and an appropriate plug fitted following the wiring instruction (below). The plug removed must be disposed of safely
as insertion into a 13A socket is likely to cause an electrical
hazard.
