Notes on Battery Usage
When you use the battery, carefully read and strictly observe the Safety Instructions
and the notes described below:
Use only the specified battery (7.4V).
Avoid extremely cold environments as low temperatures can shorten the battery life
and reduce camera performance.
When you are using a new rechargeable battery or a rechargeable battery that has
not been used for an extended period of time (a battery that passed the expiry date
is an exception), it may affect the number of images that can be captured. To
maximize its performance and lifetime, we recommend that you fully charge the
battery and discharge it for at least one complete cycle before use.
The camera may feel warm after a long period of continuous use. This is normal and
not a malfunction.
If the battery is not to be used for a long period of time, remove it from the camera. If
stored for a long time in a fully charged condition, its performance may be impaired.
Always keep the battery terminals clean.
Only use the specified battery or its equivalent with this product.
Properly dispose the battery when it will no longer charge.
Do not short the terminals of the battery.

Notes on Handling Polaroid PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™
and Print Care
Keep the photo pack in a cool and dry place.
Do not leave the photo pack in a place where the temperature is extremely high (e.g.
a car or on the beach) for long periods.
If the photo pack has been kept in a place where the temperature is extremely high
or low, leave it at normal room temperature for an hour before starting to print.
When holding the paper, only touch the edges of the paper.
Do not touch or pull the print during printing.
Do not bend, fold or scratch prints and avoid touching the print surface.
Do not leave the prints in extremely hot locations (such as on hot sand, concrete or
close to a heating appliance).
Keep the prints in a cool and dry place.
Do not store the photo pack and prints in moist areas (store them in areas that have
less than 20% humidity).

GETTING STARTED
Preparation
1. Attach the camera’s hand strap as shown in the
illustration.
2. Open the battery/SD card door.
3. Insert the battery in the correct orientation as shown
in the illustration.
4. Insert an SD/SDHC memory card (Optional).
The camera has 16MB internal memory (4
available for image storage)
, but you can load an
SD/SDHC memory card (We recommend the use of
a Polaroid SD card - purchased separately - up to
4GB) to expand the camera’s memory capacity.
Be sure to format the memory card with this

Installing Polaroid PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™
Insert the photo paper before printing images.
1. Slide the latch on the paper tray door as shown in the illustration.
2. Unwrap the 10-pack of Polaroid
PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™.
3. Slide the 10-pack of Polaroid PoGo™
ZINK Photo Paper™ into the paper
tray.
Make sure the ZINK Smart Sheet™
is placed and loaded with the bar
code face down.
Shiny side of paper faces up.
4. Close the paper tray door.
The ZINK Smart Sheet™ will automatically eject.
The paper compartment must be empty before refilling. Do not fill the paper compartment with more

Charging the Battery
The AC power adapter charges the battery and also powers the camera. Make sure
that the camera is turned off and the battery is inserted before starting.
1. Insert one end of the AC power adapter into the DC IN 9V terminal of the camera.
2. Insert the other end of the AC power
adapter into a wall outlet.
The status LED is orange when
charging and is green when charging is
complete.
Charging time varies according to the
ambient temperature and the age of the
battery.
The battery may feel warm after it has been charged or immediately after being used. This is
normal and not a malfunction.
When using the camera in cold areas, keep the camera and battery warm.

Initial Settings
Setting the Date and Time
The date/time needs to be set when:
The camera is turned on for the first time.
The camera is turned on after leaving the camera without the battery for an
extended period of time.
When the date and time information is not displayed on the LCD display, follow these
steps to set the correct date and time.
1. Toggle the button to [ ].
2. Press the button.
3. Select [Setup] with the f button.
4. Select [Date/Time] with the c / d buttons, and
press the OK button.
5. Select the date format with the c / d buttons,
and press the OK button.
6. Select the time format with the c / d buttons,
and press the OK button.
Select the appropriate field with the e / f
buttons and adjust the value for the date and
time with the c / d buttons.
When your settings are correct, press the

Formatting the Memory Card or Internal Memory
This utility formats the internal memory (or memory card) and erases all stored images

CAPTURE MODE
Capturing Images
Your camera is equipped with a 3.0" full color TFT LCD display to help you compose
images, playback recorded images/video clips or adjust menu settings.
1. Press the button to turn the power on.
2. Toggle the button to [ ].
Set the focus switch to [ O ] if you want to capture a close-up image (0.6 to
1.45m: 2 to 5 feet).
Toggle the abutton to select the appropriate flash mode setting. If flash mode is
set to _, this “Pre-flash” mode allows you to brighten the subject prior to taking
the final picture and firing the flash.
3. Compose your image in the LCD display.
Pressing the T button zooms in on the subject, and enlarges the subject on the
LCD display.
Pressing the W button provides a wider angle image.
4. To take a picture press the shutter button.

Setting the Self-timer
This setting allows images to be captured with self-timer.
1. Toggle the e button to select the setting.
Each press of the e buttton moves the icon one step through the sequence and
displays it on the screen.
2. Compose your image in the LCD display.
3. Press the shutter button.
The self-timer LED flashes and the camera beeps (if beep is turned on). The
image will be captured after the preset time has elapsed.
The countdown is displayed on the LCD screen.
To cancel the self-timer during operation, press the OK button or shutter button.
The table below will help you to choose the appropriate self-timer mode:

Setting the Scene Mode
By simply selecting one of the available 19 scene modes, you can capture the image
with the most appropriate settings.
1. Press the button.
2. Select the desired scene mode with the e / f
buttons, and press the OK button.
3. Compose your image and press the shutter
button.
Setting Manual White Balance
This manually sets the white balance and stores it. Use this feature if one of the
pre-selected white balance lighting settings does not produce overall good image
quality for the lighting used in your image.
1. Toggle the button to [ ].
2. Press the button.
3. Select [White Balance] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
4. Select [Manual] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
5. Select [New WB] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
To use the previously set white balance data, select [Use Data], and press the
the OK button.
6. Place a white paper in the middle of the scene, with all lights that will be used in the
photo turned on. Zoom in on the paper, so it almost fills the frame. Then, select
[Execute] from the Manual WB menu.
This establishes for the camera exactly what white should look like under the
current lighting conditions, and it will adjust its white balance accordingly.
The setting is memorized and will remain if the camera is shut off then back on.

Recording a Subject onto an Existing Background Image
Pre-Shot helps you get the background you want, even if you need to ask someone else
to record the image for you. Basically, Pre-Shot is a two-step process.
1. Toggle the button to [ ].
a. Press the button.
b. Select [Function] with the f button.
c. Select [Capture Mode] with the c / d button, and press the OK button.
d. Select [Pre-Shot] with the c / d button, and press the OK button.
e. Press the button to exit from the menu screen.
2. Compose the background you want on the screen, and then press the shutter button
to temporarily record it as a reference image.
This operation causes a semi-transparent image of the background to appear on
the screen, but the displayed image is not actually saved in camera memory.
3. Now you can stand in front of the background and ask someone else to take your picture,
using the semi-transparent background on the screen as a composition guide.
4. After composing the final image (using the semi-transparent background as a
guide), the person with the camera should press the shutter button to record.
Note that the semi-transparent background image temporarily recorded in step 2
is for composition purposes only. The final image contains only what is in front of
the camera when the shutter button is pressed in step 4.

Combining Shots of Two People into a Single Image
This mode lets you record images of two people and combine them into a single image.
This makes it possible for you to include yourself in group images, even when there is
no one else around to record the image for you.
1. Toggle the button to [ ].
a. Press the button.
b. Select [Function] with the f button.
c. Select [Capture Mode] with the c / d button, and press the OK button.
d. Select [Couple Shot] with the c / d button, and press the OK button.
e. Press the button to exit from the menu screen.
2. Align the subject you want on the left side of the image.
3. Press the shutter button to record the left side of the image.
4. Next compose the subject you want in the right side of the image, taking care to
align the background with the semi-transparent image of the background of the first
image, which is shown on the screen.
5. When everything is aligned correctly, press the shutter button to record the right side
of the image.

VIDEO MODE
Recording Video Clips
This mode allows you to record video clips at a resolution of 320 x 240 / 640 x 480 pixels.
1. Press the button.
2. Select [Video] with the e / f buttons, and press the OK
button.
3. Compose the image.
4. Press the shutter button.
The recording starts.
Pressing the shutter button again and the recording
stops.
The recording time depends on the available memory
on the memory card and the subject of the image
being recorded.
The maximum recording time is 60 minutes per video.
The zoom function cannot be used during video recording.
When recording a video clip, the flash and "10+2 sec." self-timer function cannot be used.
If the write speed of your SD/SDHC memory card is not fast enough for recording video clips in
the currently selected quality, the video recording will stop. Should this happen, select a lower
video quality.
Playing Back Video Clips
You can play back recorded video clips on the camera. You can also play back sound if
recorded with the video.
1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ].
The last image appears on the screen.
2. Select the desired video clip with the e / f buttons.
3. Press the
OK button.
A press of the f / e buttons during playback allows fast forward / fast reverse playback.
To stop video playback, press the d button.
This stops playback and returns you to the beginning of the video clip.
To pause video playback, press the OK button.
Pressing the
OK button again resumes playback.
Video clips cannot be displayed rotated or enlarged.
Windows Media player or QuickTime Player is recommended to play back the video clip on your computer.
QuickTime Player is a free media player available at www.apple.com; and compatible with Mac
and Windows computers.

Playback of Still Images
You can play back your still images on the LCD display.
1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ].
The last image appears on the screen.
2. The images can be displayed in forward or
reverse sequence using the e / f buttons.
To view the previous image, press the e
button.
To view the next image, press the f button.
Pressing the d button during image playback will
result in a 90-degree clockwise rotation display.
Pressing the T button enlarges the image.
To return to normal magnification, press the W
button.
An [ 6 ] icon is displayed with the video data. Video clips cannot be rotated.
An [ a ] icon is displayed with images which have an audio memo recorded.

Attaching Voice Memos

Protecting Images
To prevent images from accidentally being erased, follow the steps below:
1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ].
2. Select the image that you want to protect with the e /
f buttons.
3. Press the button.
4. Select [Protect] with the c / d buttons, and press the
OK button.
5. Select [Single] or [All] with the c / d buttons, and
press the OK button.
6. Select [Set] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK
button.
Protection is applied to the image and the camera
returns to the playback mode.

Canceling the Protection
To cancel protection for only one image, display the

Formatting an SD/SDHC memory card overrides protection, and erases all images regardless of
their protected status.

Erasing Images
1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ].
2. Select the image you want to erase with the

/ f buttons.

4. Select [Single] or [All] with the c / d buttons, and
press the OK button.
[Single]: Erases the selected image or the last
image.
[All]: Erases all of the images except for the
protected images.
5. Select [Execute] with the c / d buttons, and
press the OK button.
To not erase, select [Cancel], and press the
OK button.
Deleting an image will not affect sequential image numbering. For example, if you delete image
number 240, the next captured image will be numbered 241 even though 240 no longer exists. In
other words, an image-number is retired when an image is deleted and will not be reused or
reassigned to another subsequently captured image.
When black text is highlighted green it is the command that will be executed when you press the
OK button. For example, if [Cancel] is highlighted in green and you press the OK button you will
not delete this picture.

Setting the number of prints

If you wish to print multiple, different images do the following:
a. Press the PRINT button.
b. Select [# Prints] by using the c / d buttons.
c. Press the OK button.
d. Use the c / d buttons to select the number of prints for this image.
e. Use the e / f buttons to select the next print.
f. Repeat step d through e to select your other images and number of prints of each.
h. Press the OK button to start printing the selected image.
After the printing process is complete, the camera returns to the main Print
menu.

Editing your Images
The camera has features that allow you to perform several photo editing functions on
your images before printing. You can remove red-eye effects, crop images to specific
sizes and more.
Cropping Images
a. After selecting you image in the review
mode, press the PRINT button. Opt for the
[Crop] feature with the c / d buttons, and
press the OK button.
b. Select the image that you want to edit with
the e / f buttons.
c. Press the OK button again to enter the
cropping mode. You should see the
highlighted crop box.
d. Press the W / T buttons.
Pressing the T button enlarges the
image.
To return to normal magnification, press the W button.
e. Press the c / d / e / f buttons to select the image portion that you want to crop and
press the OK button.
f. Select [Yes] with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. The cropped image is
saved as a new file.
g. To proceed with image printing, select [Yes] with the e / f buttons on the "Print
Now?" menu.
After the printing process is complete, the camera returns to the main Print
menu.
Adding Photo Border
a. After selecting you image in the review mode, press the PRINT button. Opt for the
[Photo Border] feature with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
b. Select the image that you want to edit with the e / f buttons.
c. Press the OK button again to enter the border mode. You should see the border
frame on your image box.
d. Select the photo border that you want to choose with the e / f buttons, and press
the OK button.
e. Select [Yes] with the e / f buttons, and
press the OK button. The new bordered
image is saved as a new file.
f. To proceed with image printing, select [Yes]
with the e / f buttons on the "Print Now?"
menu.
After the printing process is complete,

Removing Red-eye Effects
a. After selecting you image in the review mode, press the PRINT button. Opt for the
[Fix Red Eyes] feature with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
b. Select the image that you want to edit with the e / f buttons, and press the OK

The camera will automatically remove your subject's red eyes.
After it processes, you can preview your new image.
c. Press the OK button to save this improved image as a new file.
d. To proceed with image printing, select [Yes] with the e / f buttons on the "Print

Adding Data Imprint

Computer”.
6. Look for a new “removable disk” icon.
This “removable disk” is actually the memory (or memory card) in your camera.

8. Double click on the DCIM folder to open it to find more folders.
Your recorded images and video clips will be inside these folders.

USING THE CAMERA AS A PC CAMERA
Your camera can act as a PC camera, which allows you to videoconference with business
associates, or have a real-time conversation with friends or family. To use the camera for
videoconferencing, your computer system must include the items as below:

1. After installing the PC camera driver (included on the CD-ROM) in your Windows
operating system, restart your computer.
2. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB terminal of the camera.

5. Select [PC Camera] with the c / d buttons and press the OK button.
6. Position the camera steadily on top of your computer monitor or use a tripod.
7. Launch the videoconferencing application software.
Simply follow the instructions in the application software to start your camera.
This function is not supported by Mac.
The video resolution for videoconferencing applications is generally 320 x 240.

Connecting to a PictBridge Compliant Printer
If a printer that supports PictBridge is available, images can be printed by connecting
the digital still camera directly to the PictBridge-compatible printer without using a
computer.
Connecting the camera to the printer
1. Connect one end of the USB cable to your
camera.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the
USB port on the printer.
3. Turn on your camera.
4. The [USB] screen is displayed. Select
[PictBridge] with the

button.
Printing images
When the camera is properly connected to a PictBridge compliant printer, the PictBridge
menu is displayed on the display.
1. Select the item you want to configure with the
c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
[Images]:Select whether you want to print
specific image or all images. You may also
select printing number for specific image.
[Date Print]:According to the printer type,
select whether you want to print the image
with date imprint or not.
[Paper Size]:Select the desired paper size
according to the printer type.
[Layout]:Select the desired printing layout according to the printer type.
[Print]:After all settings are configured, select this item to start printing.
2. If you select [Images] in the previous step, the
figure shown on the right hand side will appear.
Select [Single] or [All] with the c / d buttons,
and press the OK button.
[Single]:Select to print one specific image.
[All]:Select to print all images.
[Exit]:Exit from Images option.

3. If you select [Single] in the previous step, the
figure shown on the right hand side will appear.
Select the image that you want to print with
the e / f buttons.
Select the [Num of Prints] (up to 99) with the
/ d
buttons.
After selecting the desired image and printing
number, press the OK button to confirm.

4. Select [Exit] with the c / d buttons, and press
the OK button.
5. Select [Print] with the c / d buttons, and press
the OK button to start printing.
6. The printing starts and the figure shown on the
right hand side appears.
[COMPLETE] will be displayed temporarily,
reminding you that the printing procedure is
finished.
If an error is detected during the connection (i.e.
the printer hardware problem) between camera
and printer, [PRINT ERROR] will be displayed.
If an error is detected during the communication
(i.e. wrong setting on the camera) between camera and printer, [ERROR] will be
displayed.
