IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Please read all of these instructions regarding this product and retain them for future reference.

1 Do not install this product where it may (i)

obstruct the driver’s vision, (ii) impair the performance of any of the vehicle’s operating systems or safety features, including air bags, hazard lamp buttons or (iii) impair the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle.

2 Do not operate this product if doing so in any

way will divert your attention from the safe operation of your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules and follow all existing traffic regulations. If you experience difficulty in operating the system or reading the display, park your vehicle in a safe location and make necessary adjustments.

3 Please remember to wear your seat belt at

all times while operating your vehicle. If you are ever in an accident, your injuries can be considerably more severe if your seat belt is

not properly buckled. 4 Never use headphones while driving. 5 To promote safety, certain functions are

disabled unless the parking brake is on, and

the vehicle is not in motion. 6 Never set the volume of your display so high

that you cannot hear outside traffic and

emergency vehicles.

• Use of this unit in conditions other than the following could result in fire or malfunction. — Vehicles with a 12-volt battery and negative

grounding.

• To prevent a short-circuit, overheating or malfunction, be sure to follow the directions below. — Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

before installation.

— Secure the wiring with cable clamps or adhesive

tape. Wrap adhesive tape around wiring that comes into contact with metal parts to protect the wiring.

— Place all cables away from moving parts, such as

the shift lever and seat rails.

— Place all cables away from hot places, such as

near the heater outlet.

— Do not connect the yellow cable to the battery

by passing it through the hole to the engine compartment.

— Cover any disconnected cable connectors with

insulating tape. — Do not shorten any cables. — Never cut the insulation of the power cable of

this unit in order to share the power with other

devices. The current capacity of the cable is

limited. — Use a fuse of the rating prescribed.

Notes

• Check all connections and systems before final installation.

• Do not use unauthorized parts as this may cause malfunctions.

• Consult your dealer if installation requires drilling of holes or other modifications to the vehicle.

• Install the unit where it will not get in the driver’s way and will not injure passengers if there is a sudden stop.

• When mounting this unit, make sure none of the leads are trapped between this unit and the surrounding metalwork or fittings.

• Do not mount this unit near heater outlets where it would be affected by heat, or near the doors where rainwater might splash onto it.

• Before drilling any mounting holes, always check behind where you want to drill the holes. Do not drill into the gas line, brake line, electrical wiring or other important parts.

• If this unit is installed in the passenger compartment, anchor it securely so it does not break free while the vehicle is moving, causing injury or an accident.

• If this unit is installed under the front seat, make sure it does not obstruct seat movement. Route all leads and cords carefully around the sliding mechanism so they do are not caught or pinched in the mechanism and cause a short-circuit.

About this unit

This unit is a smartphone link adaptor for the Pioneer DVD RDS AV Receiver.

CAUTION

• Do not allow this unit to come into contact with liquids. Electrical shock could result. Also, damage to this unit, smoke, and overheating could result from contact with liquids.

• Keep this manual handy for future reference.

• Always keep the volume low enough to hear outside sounds.

• Avoid exposure to moisture.

• Should this unit fail to work properly, please contact your dealer or nearest authorized PIONEER Service Station.

Refer to the Pioneer head unit owner’s manual for operating instructions for the Pioneer head unit.

Installation Procedure

1 Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 2 Connect each cable and connector, referring to

the connection diagram. Refer to Connecting

the units. 3 Install the adapter. 4 Connect the negative battery terminal. 5 After installation, check the connections and

the system.

Operation procedure

1 Press the Home button on the Pioneer head

unit and touch the MirrorLink icon in the

Home display. Depending on the type of smartphone that is

connected, you may have to perform operations

on the smartphone side. 2 You can operate the applications on the touch

panel screen as well as on your smartphone

screen. 3 Refer to the Pioneer head unit owner’s manual

for instructions on how to operate the Pioneer

head unit buttons.

Note

If the MirrorLink icon does not appear on the Home display or an error message appears on the display, follow the procedures below.

• Disconnect the cable from the smartphone, and

then connect the smartphone again after a few seconds.

• Turn the ignition switch OFF and then to ACC or

ON.

If the error message is still displayed after performing the above action, reset the smartphone.

If the error message is still displayed after performing the above action, please contact your dealer or an authorized Pioneer Service Station.

Resetting the microprocessor

The microprocessor must be reset in the following situations:

• Before using this unit for the first time after installation

• If the unit fails to operate properly

• When error message continuously appear on the display.

Note

If you cannot press RESET after installation, turn the ignition switch to ACC ON followed by ACC OFF and then ACC ON to reset.

1 Turn the ignition switch to ACC ON. 2 Press RESET with a pen tip or other pointed

instrument.

Updating the firmware

This function is used to update the smartphone link adaptor firmware with the latest firmware.

For about smartphone link adaptor firmware and updating, refer to the Pioneer head unit owner’s manual.

Note

When MirrorLink mode setting is in App List Mode, the firmware version number appears in the lower right corner of the screen.

When MirrorLink mode setting is in Car Mode, press the home button to switch to App List Mode in order to check the firmware version number.

adhésif. Entourez de ruban adhésif les câblage qui sont en contact avec des pièces métalliques pour protéger le câblage.

— Positionnez tous le câbles à l'écart des pièces

mobiles telles que le levier de vitesse ou les rails des sièges.

— Placez tous les câbles à l'écart des endroits

chauds, tels que la sortie d'un chauffage.

— Ne connectez pas le câble jaune à la batterie en

le faisant passer à travers le trou conduisant au compartiment moteur.

— Recouvrez tous les connecteurs des câbles

déconnectés avec du ruban isolant. — Ne raccourcissez aucun câble. — Ne coupez jamais l'isolant du câble d'alimentation

de cet appareil afin de partager l'alimentation avec

d'autres appareils. La capacité en courant du câble

Remarques

Cet appareil est un adaptateur de lien smartphone pour l'ampli-tuner DVD RDS Pioneer.

ATTENTION

• Ne laissez pas cet appareil entrer en contact avec les liquides. Un choc électrique pourrait se produire. De plus, des dommages à l'appareil, de la fumée ou une surchauffe pourrait se produire à cause d'un contact avec un liquide.

• Gardez ce manuel dans un endroit sûr pour référence future.

• Gardez toujours le volume suffisamment bas pour écouter les sons extérieurs.

• Évitez toute exposition à l'humidité.

• Si cet appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement, veuillez contacter votre revendeur ou le centre de service Pioneer agréé le plus proche.

Reportez-vous au mode d'emploi de l'unité principale pour les instructions de fonctionnement de l'unité principale Pioneer.

Procédure d’installation

1 Déconnectez la borne négative de la batterie. 2 Connectez chaque câble et connecteur, en vous

reportant au schéma de connexion. Reportez-

vous à Connexion des appareils. 3 Installez l'adaptateur. 4 Connectez la borne négative de la batterie. 5 Après l'installation, vérifiez les connexion et le

système.

Procédure d’installation

reportant au schéma de connexion. Reportez-

vous à Connexion des appareils. 3 Installez l'adaptateur. 4 Connectez la borne négative de la batterie. 5 Après l'installation, vérifiez les connexion et le

système.

Procédure d’utilisation

1 Appuyez sur la touche Home sur l'unité

principale Pioneer et touchez l'icône

MirrorLink sur l'affichage Home. En fonction du type de smartphone qui est

connecté, il se peut que vous deviez réaliser des

opérations sur le smartphone. 2 Vous pouvez commander les applications sur

l'écran du panneau tactile de la même façon

que sur l'écran de votre smartphone. 3 Reportez-vous au mode d'emploi de l'unité

principale Pioneer pour savoir comment

utiliser les touches de l'unité principale

Pioneer.

Remarque

Si l'icône MirrorLink n'apparaît pas sur l'affichage Home ou si un message d'erreur apparaît sur l'affichage, suivez les procédures ci-dessous.

• Déconnectez le câble du smartphone, puis

connectez de nouveau le smartphone après plusieurs secondes.

• Tournez le commutateur d'allumage sur la position

OFF, puis sur la position ACC ou ON.

Si le message d'erreur est toujours affiché après avoir réalisé l'action ci-dessus, réinitialisez le smartphone.

Si le message d'erreur est toujours affiché après avoir réalisé l'action ci-dessus, veuillez contacter votre revendeur ou un centre de service agréé Pioneer.

Réinitialisation du microprocesseur

Le microprocesseur doit être réinitialisé dans les situations suivantes:

• Avant d’utiliser l’appareil pour la première fois après l'installation

• Si l'appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement

• Quand un message d'erreur apparaît sur l'affichage.

Remarque

Si vous ne pouvez pas appuyer sur RESET après l'installation, tournez le commutateur d'allumage sur la position ACC ON puis sur la position ACC OFF et enfin de nouveau sur la position ACC ON pour réinitialiser.

1 Tournez le commutateur d'allumage sur la

position ACC ON.

2 Appuyez sur RESET avec la pointe d'un stylo

ou un objet pointu.

Mise à jour du micrologiciel

Cette fonction est utilisée pour mettre à jour le firmware de l'adaptateur de lien smartphone à la dernière version du firmware.

Remarque

Quand le réglage du mode MirrorLink est sur App List Mode, le numéro de version du firmware apparaît dans le coin inférieur droit de l'écran.

Quand le réglage du mode MirrorLink est sur Car Mode, appuyez sur la touche d'accueil pour commuter sur App List Mode afin de pouvoir vérifier le numéro de version du firmware.
