1. Use only the battery(ies) instructed.

Installation:
1. Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
2. Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations.
3. Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected
at the network interface.
4. Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.

Installation
1 Chose a spot near an electric outlet and a telephone jack outlet.
2 Install the handset antenna
Slide the metal tip of the handset antenna straight down into the opening in the top of the handset. Turn
the antenna clockwise to make sure the tip is set in place, and continue until it is sung against the top of
the handset. Do not over tighten.
3 Install the handset battery
• Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pressing on the identation and sliding the
cover downward
• Plug the battery pack cord into the handset, and tuck the cords in next to the battery
• Replace the cover by sliding it on its track
4 Set Tone or Pusle dialing
• Press Memory button
• Press Recall button
• Press for Tone, or for Pulse
• French version do not have this function
5 Connect the telephone line cord
• Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top of the base
• Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack
6 Mount the base on the wall (wall installation only)
• Mark and drill two holes in a wall stud, 3 5/16" apart
• Use two wall screws, leaving about 1/4" free of the wall
• Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top side of the base
• Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack
• Mount the base unit on the wall by aligning the two holes on the back with screws
• Slide the base unit down in place
7 Plug the power cord
• Plug the one end of the power cord into the jack on the top side of the base
• Plug the AC adapter on the power cord into an electric outlet
8 Charge the handset battery pack for at least 12 hours
Place the handset in the base, the CHARGE light on the base goes on to show the handset is in the right
position to charge the battery pack.
9 Check for dial tone
After the battery pack is charged, pick up the handset and extend the base antenna. Check for dial tone
by pressing the
10 Set TBR time
The flash time is pre-set for end users, users do not switch it under normal usage.
The TBR times switch is located on the top side of the base. Three flash time, A-100ms, B-270ms and C620ms are available for different telephone network system. Select suitable flash time if necessary.

Operating Range
The handset and base can communicate over only a certain distance - which can vary with the locations
of the base and handset, the weather, and the construction of your home or office. For best performance,
make sure the base antenna is fully upright.
If the handset is moved to a point where the base and handset can longer communicate, you are “out of
range”. When you try to make a call, the handset will beep to indicate that you are out of range.
If you receive a call while you are out of range, the handset might not ring - or if it does ring, the call might
not connect when you press
If you move out of range during a phone conversation, you may be disconnected.
Changing Channels
This cordless telephone has multi channels available for maximum performance.
If you notice noise or interference while using the handset:

This cordless phone can store 9 telephone numbers that you can dial by pressing and one of the

Batteries
! CAUTION:
Charging the Handset Battery Pack
The batteries need charging when:
• The IN USE light on the base flashes.
• The handset beeps while you are on a call.
Place the handset in the base so the CHARGING light goes on. The batteries will be fully charged in about
12 hours. You should charge the handset battery pack at least once every 90 days.
Replacing the Handset Battery Pack
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pressing on the indentation and sliding the

Operation
Making a Call

In Case of Difficulty
If the phone doesn’t work at all, check these items first:
• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged in.
• Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base until and the telephone jack.
• Make sure the base antenna is fully upright.
• Make sure the battery pack is installed correctly.
• If you have rotary service on your phone line, make sure the dial mode switch is set to PULSE.
• You may be out of range when attempting to dial. Move closer to the base and try the call again.
• If the above suggestions don’t solve the problem, the handset and base may not be communicating
properly. Try the suggestions below to reset the security code.
To reset the security code:
• Place the handset in the base, and check to make sure the CHARGING light is on. Wait 15 seconds,
then pick up the handset and press

adapter from the outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it in again. The CHARGING light should go on. Wait

If you hear noise or interference when using the phone:
• Make sure the base antenna is fully upright.
• You may be out of range. Move closer to the base.
• Press and release

moving the appliance or the base to another outlet.

INSTALACION
1 Elija un lugar cerca de un toma de corriente y de una entrada de teléfono.
2 Instale la antena del receptor
Deslice la punta metálica de la antena del receptor directamente hacia abajo, dentro de la apertura en la
punta del receptor. Gire la antena en el sentido de las agujas del reloj para asegurarse que la punta esté
en su lugar, y continúe hasta que esté ubicada contra la punta del receptor. No ajuste en exceso.
3 Instale la pila del receptor
• Remueva la cubierta del compartimiento de pila en el receptor, presionando sobre la ranura y
deslizando la cubierta hacia abajo.
• Enchufe el cable del paquete de pila en el receptor y recoja los cables al lado de la pila.

4 Ajuste marcación por Tono o Pulso

6 Monte la base sobre la pared (instalación en la pared, solamente)
• Marque y perfore dos huecos en la pared, separados 3 5/16".
• Utilice dos tornillos de pared, dejando 1/4" libre sobre la pared.
• Enchufe un extremo del cable del teléfono en la toma ubicada en la punta del receptor.
• Enchufe el otro extremo en una toma telefónica modular.
• Monte la unidad de base en la pared, alineando los dos huecos en la parte trasera con tornillos.
• Deslice hacia abajo la unidad de base en su lugar.
7 Enchufe el cable de la corriente
• Enchufe un extremo del cable de la corriente en la toma ubicada en la punta del receptor.

8 Cargue el paquete de pila del receptor por un mínimo de 12 horas

9 Revise el tono de llamada
Una vez que el paquete de pila esté cargado, levante el receptor y extienda la antena de la base. Revise

10 Ajuste de Hora TBR
La hora flash está preajustada para el usuario final, y la misma no debe ser cambiada en uso normal.
El mando de horas TBR está ubicado en el extremo superior de la base. Tres horas flash, A-100ms, B270ms y C- 620ms están disponibles para diferentes sistemas de redes telefónicas. Seleccione la hora
flash apropiada, si fuera necesario.

ALCANCE DEL FUNCIONAMIENTO

el cable.
9. No sobrecargue el tomacorrientes y los alargadores ya que ésto puede ocasionar riesgo de incendio o
descarga eléctrica.
10. Nunca introduzca objetos en la unidad a través de las ranuras ya que ésto puede ocasionar riesgo de
incendio o descarga eléctrica. Nunca derrame líquidos en la unidad.
11. Para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, no desarme esta unidad y llévela a un técnico especializado
cuando servicio o reparaciones sean requeridos. Abrir o remover cubiertas puede exponerlo a voltajes
peligrosos u otros riesgos. Un incorrecto rearmado puede causar descarga eléctrica cuando el aparato
sea usado posteriormente.
12. Desenchufe esta unidad de su toma de corriente y refiérase al servicio de personal calificado en las
siguientes circunstancias:
A. Cuando el cable de corriente o enchufe estén dañados o rotos.
B. Si se ha derramado líquido sobre la unidad.
C. Si la unidad ha sido expuesta a la lluvia o agua.

13. Durante tormentas eléctricas, evite usar teléfonos excepto los del tipo inalámbrico. Puede haber
un remoto riesgo de descarga eléctrica causada por rayos.
14. No use esta unidad para informar de una perdida de gas en sus cercanía.

Cuando el mando del sonido está en la posición OFF, el receptor está listo para ser usado hasta un mes
en modo espera, antes que deba retornarlo a la base para su recarga. Puede usar el receptor para
efectuar o responder una llamada si escucha otro teléfono extensión sonando. Cuando el mando del
SONIDO está en la posición ON, el receptor está listo para ser usado hasta 10 días.
Búsqueda del receptor
La función de búsqueda del receptor le permite alertar a alguien en el receptor desde la base. También
puede usar esta función para ayudarlo a localizar el receptor. Esta función permanece desactivada
cuando el mando del SONIDO está en la posición OFF.

Tono Temporario

necesarios para operar contestadores automáticos, o uso de servicios bancarios electrónicos, tarjetas telefónicas
y otros servicios especiales. Esta función operará servicios especiales; sin embargo, algunos servicios requerirán
una línea de marcación y tono. Para asegurarse, pregunte a la compañía que ofrece el servicio especial.

Carga del Paquete de Pila del Receptor
Las pilas requieren carga cuando:
• Parpadee la luz EN USO de la base.
• Cuando el receptor emita un pitido mientas efectúa una llamada.
Coloque el receptor en la base para que se encienda la luz de CARGA. Las pilas se habrán cargado
completamente en unas 12 horas. Debe cargar el paquete de pila del receptor al menos una vez cada 90 días.
Reemplazo del Paquete de Pila del Receptor
1. Remueva la cubierta del compartimiento de pila en el receptor, presionando sobre la palabra PHILIPS
y deslizando la cubierta hacia abajo.
2. Enchufe el cable del paquete de pila en el receptor y recoja los cables al lado de la pila.
3. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta deslizándola sobre su corredera.
EN CASO DE DIFICULTADES
Si el teléfono no funciona en absoluto, revise primero lo siguiente:
• Asegúrese que el adaptador de corriente esté enchufado.
• Asegúrese que el cable la línea telefónica esté firmemente enchufado en la toma ubicada en la base.
• Asegúrese que la antena de la base se encuentre completamente levantada.
• Asegúrese que el paquete de pila esté correctamente instalado.
• Si posee un servicio rotativo en su línea telefónica, asegúrese que la marcación está en modo PULSO.
• Puede encontrarse fuera del alcance cuando intenta marcar. Acérquese más a la base e intente llamar de nuevo.
• Si las sugerencias anteriores no resuelven el problema, el receptor y la base pueden no estar comunicándose
correctamente. Intente las sugerencias que siguen para reajustar el código de seguridad.
Para reajustar el código de seguridad:
• Coloque el receptor en la base y revise a fin de asegurarse que la luz de CARGA esté encendida. Espere
15 segundos, luego levante el receptor y presione

• Coloque el receptor en la base y asegúrese que la luz de CARGA se encuentre encendida.
Desenchufe el adaptador de corriente, espere 15 segundos y luego enchúfelo nuevamente. La luz de

asegúrese que la luz de CARGA se encuentre encendida. Espere otros 15 segundos, levante el
receptor y presione . El teléfono debería funcionar correctamente.
Si no hay tono de llamada:
Repase las sugerencias anteriores. Si no escucha tono de llamada, desconecte el teléfono y pruebe
otro teléfono en la misma toma. Si tampoco hay tono de llamada en ese teléfono, probablemente el
problema esté en sus cables o servicio local. Llame a su compañía telefónica.
Si escucha ruido o interferencia cuando use el teléfono:
• Asegúrese que la antena de la base se encuentre completamente erguida.
• Puede encontrarse fuera de alcance. Acérquese a la base.
• Presione y suelte
excepcionalmente alto, acérquese a la base antes de cambiar de canales.
• Artefactos electrodomésticos en el mismo circuito de la base, pueden a veces causar interferencia.
Trate de cambiar el artefacto o la base a otra toma de corriente.
• La disposición de su hogar u oficina puede estar limitando el alcance de funcionamiento. Trate de
cambiar la base a otra ubicación, preferentemente a un piso superior.
Si el teléfono no suena cuando recibe una llamada:
• Asegúrese que la llave SONIDO en el receptor esté en la posición ON.
• Asegúrese que el cable telefónico esté conectado firmemente a la base y al toma modular del teléfono.
• Asegúrese que el adaptador de corriente esté enchufado en un toma no controlado por un
interruptor de pared.
• Puede encontrarse muy lejos de la base. Acérquese a la base.
• Puede que tenga demasiadas extensiones telefónicas en su línea no permitiéndoles a todas ellas
sonar cuando entre una llamada Pruebe desenchufando algunos de los otros teléfonos.
