Installing your optical USB mouse

Installing the SPM4500BB

1Switch off the computer.

2Disconnect the old mouse.

3Plug the mouse USB connector into the computer USB port.

4 Switch on the computer.

> The SPM4500BB is now ready for use.

Notes:

–If your PC runs on Windows® 98, a pop-up window may appear when you plug the mouse USB connector into the computer USB port.You will be asked to insert the Windows® 98 CD-ROM. Please do so and follow the on-screen instructions for installing the required driver or set the driver path as ‘Windows\system’ or the other path that the driver located.

–The optical technology can precisely detect the mouse motion on most surfaces. Avoid using the optical USB mouse on any reflective, transparant. metallic or complex-pattern surface.

Installing the driver software

The hot keys and scroll wheel can be programmed as

shortcut keys that provide quick, one-press access to programs, files or commands. For this you have to install the driver software.The driver supports Windows® 98 / 2000 / ME / XP.

1Remove any existing mouse drivers completely.

2Insert the driver CD-ROM into the computer CD / DVD drive.

> The application starts automatically.

• If the apllication does not start automatically: go to ‘My computer’, select the driver CD-ROM and double click on the setup icon.

3 Follow the instructions in the install shield. Select ‘4D browser’. 4 Restart the computer.

Programming the hot keys and scroll wheel

1Double click the mouse icon in the task bar.

> The ‘Mouse settings’ menu appears.

2Select ‘Wheel’ or ‘Button’ and select the desired settings.

3Select ‘Apply’ to save the settings.

4Select ‘OK’.

Note:To use the shortcut function of the scroll wheel, you have to press it.

1 Apague el ordenador.

2Desconecte el ratón antiguo.

3Enchufe el conector USB del ratón en el ordenador Puerto USB.

4 Encienda el ordenador.

> El SPM4500BB está ahora listo para utilizarse.

Notas:

– Si su PC se ejecuta en Windows® 98, quizás aparezca una ventana emergente cuando enchufe el conector USB del ratón en el puerto USB del ordenador. Se le pedirá que inserte el CD-ROM de Windows® 98. Hágalo y siga las instrucciones en pantalla para instalar el driver requerido o establezca la ruta del driver como ‘Windows\system’ o la otra ruta que el driver haya localizado.

–La tecnología óptica puede detectar con precisión el movimiento del ratón en la mayoría de

superficies. Evite utilizar el ratón USB óptico sobre superficies reflectantes, transparentes, metálicas o de diseño complejo.

Instalación del software del driver

Las teclas de acceso directo y la rueda de desplazamiento pueden programarse como teclas de función rápida que proveen

acceso rápido a programas, archivos o comandos con una sola pulsación. Para esto, debe instalar el software del driver.

El driver es compatible con Windows® 98 / 2000 / ME / XP.

1 Retire completamente los drivers de ratón existentes.

2 Inserte el CD-ROM del driver en la unidad de CD / DVD del ordenador.

> La aplicación se inicia automáticamente.

•Si la aplicación no se inicia automáticamente: vaya a ‘Mi PC’, seleccione el CD-ROM del driver y haga doble clic en el icono de configuración.

3 Siga las instrucciones mostradas en la pantalla de instalación. Seleccione ‘4D browser’.

4 Reinicie el ordenador.

Programación de las teclas de acceso rápido y la rueda de desplazamiento 1 Haga doble clic en el icono de ratón, en la barra de herramientas.

> Aparece el menú ‘Mouse settings’ (Configuración del ratón).

2 Seleccione ‘Wheel’ (Rueda) o ‘Button’ (Botón) y seleccione los ajustes deseados. 3 Seleccione ‘Apply’ (Aplicar) para guardar los ajustes.

4 Seleccione ‘OK’.

Nota: Para utilizar la función de acceso rápido de la rueda de desplazamiento, tiene que pulsarla.
