With the Philips InfraCare (300 W), you can comfortably relieve muscle and joint pain at home. Just
like the sun, the device emits infrared light.

The special glass plate (filter) only passes the type of light required to achieve the intended
therapeutic effect. The Philips InfraCare (300 W) can also be used for muscle relaxation or for
preparation for a massage.

Effects of an infrared lamp

The InfraCare provides infrared light, which penetrates deeply into the skin and warms the tissues. The
warmth modulates the neuronal signals to the brain and thus reduces pain. Warmth also stimulates
the local blood circulation and dilates the blood vessels, which accelerates the transport of
substances necessary to rebuild and nourish the body’s tissues. Furthermore, infrared warmth
generated by infrared light speeds up the metabolic process and the removal of metabolic waste
products from the body. Warmth reduces stiffness and makes joints more flexible because it makes
tissue more pliable. The benefits described can help to alleviate pain due to muscle and joint
problems.

before you use the device.

Infrared light is emitted at a wavelength of 700 to more than 3000 nm, and is classified as IR-A
(700-1400 nm), IR-B (1400-3000 nm) and IR-C (>3000 nm). Infrared-A waves penetrate the skin the
deepest. The Philips glass plate (filter) has been optimized to transmit a large amount of IR-A light.

Intended use

The infrared lamp is a local warmth therapy device. Possible therapeutic applications are:

-

Treatment of occasional or chronic muscle pain, stiff muscles and stiff joints.

-

Treatment of lower-back pain.

-

Treatment of pain due to rheumatic disorders (during the non-inflammatory phase)

This device is intended for indoor use by adults who experience acute and chronic muscle or joint
pain.

Other applications

You can also use the infrared lamp for the following purposes:

Muscle relaxation.

-

Preparation for a massage.

Important safety information

Read this important information carefully before you use the device and save it for future reference.

Contraindications

-

Do not use the device without consulting your doctor first if you suffer from severe diseases such
as heart disease, acute inflammatory diseases, thrombosis, blood coagulation disorders, adrenal
suppression, systemic lupus erythematous or malignant diseases.

-

Do not use the device if you are oversensitive to infrared light. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device if you have oedema. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device if you are insensitive to infrared radiation and heat due to a disease (e.g.
advanced diabetes) or due to the use of painkillers. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device if you suffer from conditions associated with nerve demyelinisation such as
carpal tunnel syndrome, multiple sclerosis and ulnar neuropathy. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device if you have an implanted device, particularly not if it is located in the vicinity
of the treatment area. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

If you are pregnant, do not use the device to treat areas close to your abdomen, to avoid
overheating of this area. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device if you have a swelling or an inflammation, as heat could aggravate the
complaints. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device on damaged or irritated skin or on wounds. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

-

Do not use the device to treat areas on which you have recently applied topical counterirritants
(creams or ointments containing e.g. menthol), as this can cause a mild inflammatory reaction.

Do not use the device if you suffer from poor thermal regulation or impaired circulation. If in doubt,
consult your doctor.

Warning

-

Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. Do not use this device in wet surroundings (e.g.
in the bathroom or near a shower or swimming pool).

-

Do not use the device when the glass is damaged or missing, or if the coating of the glass is
damaged.

-

Do not touch the glass or front part of the device when it is switched on. The surface is very hot
and may cause burns on your skin (see 'Caution').

-

Never insert any object into the device. This may cause malfunction of the device or even cause an
electrical shock.

-

Do not let water run into the device or spill water onto the device.

-

Check if the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the local mains voltage before you
connect the device.

-

If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a service center authorized by
Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

-

Do not leave the device unattended when it is switched on.

-

This device is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.

-

This device is not intended for use by children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the device.

-

Always protect the device against unauthorized use by storing the device according to the storage
instructions (see 'Storage').

-

Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children and pets to avoid the risk of burns and
other injuries due to contact with the device or fall of the device. Cords present a potential
strangulation hazard. Keep cords out of the reach of children and pets.

-

This device is intended for the treatment of muscle and joint pain and muscle and joint stiffness,
not for the treatment of abdominal, facial and other sorts of pain.

-

Prevent overheating of the skin, the warmth should be comfortable throughout the treatment.

-

To prevent eye damage, avoid eye exposure to the light source within 1 meter from the device. Do
not look in the light source of the lamp, this may cause eye damage.

-

If there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, stop using the device and consult your doctor.

-

Do not fall asleep during treatment.

-

Do not modify this equipment.

-

Do not place flammable and/or heat sensitive objects (such as electronic devices) in the vicinity of
the device.

-

Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it
could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other
equipment should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.

-

Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and
external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the device
including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this
equipment could result.

Caution

-

If the wall socket used to power the device has poor connections, the plug of the device becomes
hot. Make sure you plug the device into a properly connected wall socket.

-

Do not subject the device to heavy shocks.

-

Always unplug the device after use and in case of a power failure.

-

Place the device on a stable, level surface (Fig. 2). Keep at least 25 cm of free space around the
device to prevent overheating (Fig. 3).

-

Make sure the vents in the back of the device remain open during use.

-

Do not cover the device with, for example, a cloth or a piece of clothing when it is switched on.

-

The device is equipped with an automatic protection against overheating. If the device is
insufficiently cooled, the device switches off automatically. Remove the cause of overheating. Once
the device has cooled down, it can be switched on again by turning the timer knob.

-

Let the device cool down for approx. 15 minutes before you touch, clean or store it.

-

If you have just been swimming or have just taken a shower, make sure you dry your skin properly
before you use this device.

-

Never use the device when the glass plate (filter) is damaged, broken or missing.

Preparing for use

Note: Do not suspend the device from a ceiling or hang it on a wall.

1 Fully unwind the power cord.
2 Place the device on a stable, level surface (Fig. 2).
3 Keep at least 25 cm of free space around the device to prevent overheating (Fig. 3).

Using the device

1 Sit or lie down at the right distance from the device.

-

Remove clothing and jewelry from the area to be treated.

-

The infrared light needs to be used on bare skin.

-

At a distance of 30 cm to the body, the device heats an area of about 40 cm by 30 cm (Fig. 5). At a
larger distance, the heated area is larger, but the infrared light and the heat are less intense. At a
smaller distance, the heated area is smaller, but the infrared light and the heat are more intense.

2 Insert the plug into a wall socket.
3 Position the device properly. Below you find some examples.

-

To treat a sore shoulder, a sore neck or part of your upper back area, place the device on a table
and tilt the lamp housing backwards. Sit down on a chair or stool with your back towards the lamp
(Fig. 6).

-

To treat a lower-back ache, place the device on a table beside a chair. Sit down on a chair or stool
with your back towards the lamp (Fig. 7).

-

To treat a sore elbow, place the device on a table and sit down beside it (Fig. 8).

-

To treat a sore knee, place the device on a bedside table. Lie down on the bed with one leg pulled
up towards the lamp (Fig. 9).

4 To switch on the device, turn the timer knob to the desired treatment time (Fig. 10).

-

You can choose a treatment time between 0 and 30 minutes.

5 Aim the beam of infrared light at the body part to be treated, by tilting the lamp housing backwards

(Fig. 4).

-

Choose a distance at which the heat feels comfortable on your skin. Increase the distance if the
heat becomes too intense.

6 The device will switch off automatically when the desired treatment time has elapsed.

-

If you want to switch off the device before the desired treatment time has elapsed, turn the timer
knob to 0 minutes.

Note: If you disconnect the device from the wall socket while the timer is activated, the timer
continues to count down and make a ticking sound.

Warning: To prevent eye damage, do not look into the light of the lamp when it is on. You
do not need to wear goggles as the InfraCare (300 W) has a special screen that filters out
UV light.

Duration of treatment

The duration of the treatment depends on the type of treatment and the person to be treated.
Treatment of a single muscle or joint should last approximately 15 minutes. If necessary, the treatment
can be repeated several times a day. You can repeat the series of several treatments a day on several
consecutive days to get a result. If there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, stop using the device
and consult your doctor. For chronic problems, the device can be used for longer periods of time.
Follow the instructions for safe use (see 'Warning').

Warning: Always consult your doctor in case of doubt.

Cleaning

Note: Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as
petrol or acetone to clean the device.

1 Unplug the device and let the lamp cool down for approx. 15 minutes before you clean the device.
2 Clean the lamp housing, the pedestal and the tube with a moist cloth.
3 You can clean the outside of the glass plate (filter) with a soft cloth sprinkled with some methylated

spirits.

Warning: Do not let water run into the device or spill water onto the device.

Storage

Note: Do not let the cord come into contact with the glass plate (filter) when it is hot.

1 Unplug the device and let the lamp cool down for approx. 15 minutes before you store it.
2 Roll up the mains cord and wrap the Velcro around it (Fig. 11).

Note: Always lift or carry the device by its handgrip (Fig. 12).

3 Store the device in a dry place.

Mit InfraCare von Philips (300 W) können Sie ganz bequem zu Hause Muskel- und Gelenkschmerzen
lindern. Ähnlich der Sonne strahlt das Gerät Infrarotlicht aus.

Die spezielle Glasplatte (Filter) lässt nur die Strahlen durch, die für die therapeutische Anwendung
erforderlich sind. Sie können Philips InfraCare (300 W) auch zur Entspannung von Muskeln oder zur
Vorbereitung auf eine Massage verwenden.

Wirkung einer Infrarotlampe

InfraCare erzeugt Infrarotlicht, das tief in die Hautschichten eindringt und das Körpergewebe wärmt.
Wärme verändert die neuronalen Signale, die an das Gehirn gesendet werden, und lindert so
Schmerzen. Sie regt die lokale Blutzirkulation an und erweitert die Blutgefäße, wodurch der Transport
der für die Regeneration und Versorgung des Körpergewebes benötigten Nährstoffe beschleunigt
wird. Infrarotlicht regt zudem den Stoffwechsel an und sorgt für einen schnelleren Abbau von

Verwenden des Geräts

1 Setzen bzw. legen Sie sich immer im richtigen Abstand vor das Gerät.

Entfernen Sie alle Kleidung und Schmuck von der zu behandelnden Körperpartie.

Das Infrarotlicht muss direkt auf die Haut angewendet werden.

-

In einem Abstand von 30cm zum Körper behandelt das Gerät eine Fläche von ca. 40 bis 30 cm. Je
größer der Abstand, umso größer wird die erwärmte Fläche, um so mehr nehmen aber auch die
Wärmeintensität und das Infrarotlicht ab. Bei geringerem Abstand ist die erwärmte Fläche kleiner,
das Infrarotlicht und damit die Wärme jedoch intensiver.

2 Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in die Steckdose.
3 Positionieren Sie das Gerät ordnungsgemäß. Im Folgenden finden Sie einige Beispiele.

Um Schmerzen im Schulter-, Nacken oder oberen Rückenbereich zu behandeln, stellen Sie das
Gerät auf einen Tisch, und kippen Sie das Lampengehäuse nach hinten. Setzen Sie sich auf einen
Stuhl oder Hocker mit dem Rücken zur Lampe (Abb. 6).

Um Schmerzen im unteren Rückenbereich zu behandeln, stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen Tisch
neben einem Stuhl. Setzen Sie sich auf einen Stuhl oder Hocker mit dem Rücken zur Lampe (Abb.

7).

Um einen schmerzenden Ellbogen zu behandeln, stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen Tisch und setzen
Sie sich daneben (Abb. 8).

Um Kniebeschwerden zu behandeln, stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen Nachttisch. Legen Sie sich mit
angezogenem Bein auf das Bett neben der Lampe (Abb. 9).

4 Um das Gerät einzuschalten, stellen Sie die Zeitschaltuhr auf die gewünschte Behandlungsdauer

(Abb. 10) ein.

Sie können eine Behandlungsdauer von 0 bis 30 Minuten wählen.

5 Richten Sie den Strahl des Infrarotlichtes auf die zu behandelnde Körperpartie, indem Sie das

Lampengehäuse nach hinten (Abb. 4) kippen.

-

Wählen Sie einen Abstand, bei dem sich die Wärme angenehm auf der Haut anfühlt. Erhöhen Sie
die Entfernung, wenn es Ihnen zu warm wird.

6 Das Gerät schaltet sich nach der gewünschten Behandlungsdauer automatisch aus.

-

Wenn Sie das Gerät vor dem Ende der Behandlungsdauer ausschalten möchten, drehen Sie den
Regler auf 0 Minuten.

Hinweis: Wenn Sie das Gerät von der Steckdose abziehen, während die Zeitschaltuhr noch läuft, zählt
die Zeitschaltuhr weiter und es ist ein tickendes Geräusch zu hören.

Warnhinweis: Um Augenverletzungen zu vermeiden, blicken Sie bei eingeschaltetem
Gerät nicht in die Lampe. Sie brauchen keine Schutzbrille zu tragen, da InfraCare (300 W)
über eine spezielle Blende verfügt, die das UV-Licht herausfiltert.

Behandlungsdauer

Die Dauer der Behandlung hängt von der Person und der jeweiligen Anwendung ab. Die Behandlung
eines einzelnen Muskels oder Gelenks sollte ungefähr 15 Minuten dauern. Bei Bedarf kann die
Behandlung mehrmals am Tag wiederholt werden. Sie können einen Zyklus von mehreren
Behandlungen pro Tag mehrere Tage hintereinander durchführen, um ein Ergebnis zu erzielen. Stellt
sich nach 6 bis 8 Anwendungen keine Linderung der Beschwerden ein, benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht
weiter, und konsultieren Sie Ihren Arzt. Bei chronischen Beschwerden können Sie das Gerät auch für
längere Zeitspannen benutzen. Befolgen Sie dabei die Anweisungen für eine sichere Verwendung
(siehe 'Warnhinweis').

Warnhinweis: Konsultieren Sie im Zweifelsfall immer Ihren Arzt.

Pflege

Hinweis: Zum Reinigen des Geräts keine Scheuerschwämme und mittel oder aggressiven
Flüssigkeiten wie Benzin oder Aceton verwenden.

1 Ziehen Sie vor dem Reinigen des Geräts den Stecker aus der Steckdose, und lassen Sie die Lampe

ca. 15 Minuten lang abkühlen.

2 Reinigen Sie Lampengehäuse, Sockel und Stativrohr mit einem feuchten Tuch.
3 Die Außenseite der Glasplatte (des Filters) können Sie mit einem weichen Tuch reinigen, auf das

Sie etwas Spiritus gegeben haben.

Lagerräume

Hinweis: Lassen Sie das Netzkabel nicht mit der heißen Glasplatte (Filter) in Kontakt

Grâce à Philips InfraCare (300 W), vous pouvez soulager vos douleurs articulaires et musculaires dans
le confort de votre maison. Comme le soleil, l'appareil émet une lumière infrarouge.

La plaque de verre spécial (filtre) laisse uniquement passer les rayons nécessaires à l’effet
thérapeutique recherché. L’appareil Philips InfraCare (300 W) peut également être utilisé pour la
détente musculaire ou en préparation d’un massage.

Effets d'une lampe infrarouge

L'InfraCare émet de la lumière infrarouge, qui pénètre en profondeur dans la peau et réchauffe les
tissus. La chaleur module les signaux neuronaux envoyés au cerveau, ce qui réduit la douleur. La
chaleur stimule également la circulation sanguine locale et dilate les petits vaisseaux, ce qui accélère
le transport des substances nécessaires pour réparer et alimenter les tissus. En outre, la chaleur
générée par la lumière infrarouge accélère le processus métabolique et l'élimination des déchets du
métabolisme du corps. La chaleur réduit la raideur et assouplit les articulations, car elle rend les tissus
plus malléables. Les avantages décrits peuvent contribuer à soulager la douleur liée aux problèmes
musculaires et articulaires.

Application

La lampe infrarouge est un appareil de thermothérapie à application locale. Les applications
thérapeutiques possibles sont les suivantes:

Avertissement

Utilisation de l'appareil

À une distance de 30 à 40cm du corps, l'appareil chauffe une zone d'environ 40cm sur 30cm. À

sont moins intenses. À une distance inférieure, la zone chauffée est plus petite, mais la lumière
infrarouge et la chaleur sont plus intenses.

2 Insérez la prise électrique dans la prise secteur.
3 Positionnez l'appareil correctement. Vous trouverez quelques exemples ci-dessous.

Pour traiter une douleur dans l'épaule, la nuque ou dans le haut du dos, placez l'appareil sur une
table et inclinez le boîtier de la lampe vers l'arrière. Asseyez-vous sur une chaise ou un tabouret
avec le dos tourné vers la lampe (Fig. 6).

Pour traiter une douleur dans le bas du dos, placez l'appareil sur une table à côté d'une chaise.
Asseyez-vous sur une chaise ou un tabouret avec le dos tourné vers la lampe (Fig. 7).

Pour traiter une douleur au niveau du coude, placez l'appareil sur une table et asseyez-vous à côté
(Fig. 8).

-

Pour traiter un genou douloureux, placez l'appareil sur une table de chevet. Couchez-vous sur le lit
avec une jambe repliée vers la lampe (Fig. 9).

4 Pour allumer l'appareil, tournez le bouton de la minuterie sur la durée (Fig. 10) de traitement

appropriée.

-

Vous pouvez choisir une durée de traitement entre 0 et 30minutes.

5 Dirigez le faisceau de lumière infrarouge vers la zone du corps à traiter en inclinant le boîtier de la

lampe vers l'arrière (Fig. 4).

-

Placez l'appareil à une distance à laquelle la sensation de chaleur sur la peau reste confortable.
Augmentez la distance si la chaleur devient trop forte.

6 L'appareil s'éteindra automatiquement une fois que la durée de traitement désirée se sera

écoulée.

-

Si vous souhaitez éteindre l'appareil avant que la durée de traitement désirée soit écoulée, faites
tourner le bouton de la minuterie sur 0minute.

Remarque: Si vous débranchez l'appareil de la prise murale pendant que la minuterie est activée,
cette dernière poursuit son décompte et continue à émettre un cliquetis.

Avertissement : Pour éviter toute affection oculaire, ne fixez pas la lampe des yeux
quand celle-ci est en marche. Vous n’avez pas besoin de porter de lunettes de
protection, car l’InfraCare (300 W) possède un écran spécial qui filtre la lumière UV.

Durée du traitement

La durée du traitement dépend du type de traitement et de la personne à traiter. Le traitement d'un
muscle ou d'une articulation unique doit durer environ 15minutes. Si nécessaire, le traitement peut
être répété plusieurs fois par jour. Vous pouvez répéter les séries de plusieurs traitements quotidiens

pendant plusieurs jours consécutifs afin d'obtenir un résultat. Si vous n'observez aucune amélioration
après 6 à 8séances, cessez d'utiliser l'appareil et consultez votre médecin. En cas de problèmes
chroniques, l'appareil peut être utilisé pendant des périodes plus longues. Respectez les instructions
pour une utilisation (voir 'Avertissement') sûre.

Avertissement : en cas de doute, consultez toujours votre médecin.

Nettoyage

Remarque : N’utilisez jamais d'éponge à récurer, de produits abrasifs ou de détergents
agressifs tels que de l’essence ou de l’acétone pour nettoyer l’appareil.

1 Débranchez l'appareil et laissez refroidir la lampe pendant environ 15minutes avant de le nettoyer.
2 Nettoyez le boîtier de la lampe, le pied et le tube avec un chiffon humide.
3 Nettoyez l’extérieur de la plaque de verre (filtre) avec un chiffon doux humecté d’alcool dénaturé.

Avertissement : Veillez à ne pas faire pénétrer d'eau dans l'appareil ni à en renverser
dans celui-ci.

Rangement

Remarque : Évitez tout contact entre le cordon d’alimentation et la plaque de verre
(filtre) lorsqu’elle est chaude.

1 Débranchez l'appareil et laissez refroidir la lampe pendant environ 15minutes avant de le ranger.
2 Enroulez le cordon d'alimentation et entourez-le (Fig. 11) à l'aide du Velcro.

Remarque: Tenez toujours l’appareil par sa poignée pour le soulever ou le transporter (Fig. 12).

3 Rangez l'appareil dans un endroit sec.

Con InfraCare di Philips(300 W), potete alleviare comodamente dolori muscolari e alle articolazioni a
casa. Come il sole, l'apparecchio emette raggi infrarossi.

La piastra in vetro speciale (filtro) emette soltanto il tipo di luce necessaria per ottenere l'effetto
terapeutico desiderato. Philips InfraCare (300 W) inoltre è adatta per il rilassamento muscolare o
come preparazione a un massaggio.

Effetti della lampada a infrarossi

InfraCare produce raggi di luce infrarossa che penetrano in profondità nella pelle e riscaldano i tessuti.
Il calore modula i segnali neuronali diretti al cervello riducendo il dolore. Inoltre, stimola la circolazione
locale del sangue e dilata i vasi sanguigni accelerando il trasporto delle sostanze necessarie per
ricostruire e nutrire i tessuti corporei. Inoltre, il calore generato dalla luce a infrarossi accelera il
processo metabolico e la rimozione delle scorie dal corpo. Il calore riduce la rigidità e rende più
flessibili le articolazioni in quanto rende più elastici i tessuti. I benefici descritti aiutano ad alleviare il
dolore causato da problemi ai muscoli e alle articolazioni.

Nota: consultate la sezione "Avvertenza" del capitolo "Informazioni importanti sulla sicurezza" e
seguite le istruzioni in essa contenute prima di utilizzare l'apparecchio.

La luce a infrarossi viene emessa a una lunghezza d'onda di 700 fino a più di 3000 nm, e viene
classificata come IR-A (700-1400 nm), IR-B (1400-3000 nm) e IR-C (>3000 nm). Le onde a infrarossi A
penetrano nella pelle in modo molto profondo. La piastra in vetro (filtro) Philips è stata ottimizzata per
trasmettere una grande quantità di luce IR-A.

Utilizzo previsto

La lampada a infrarossi è un apparecchio di terapia termica locale. Possibili applicazioni terapeutiche:

Trattamento di dolori muscolari temporanei o cronici, rigidità muscolare o articolare.

-

Trattamento del mal di schiena (zona lombare).

-

Trattamento del dolore a causa di disordini reumatologici (durante la fase non infiammatoria)

L'apparecchio è inteso per un uso all'interno da parte di adulti con dolori acuti e cronici ai muscoli o
alle articolazioni.

Altre applicazioni

Potete utilizzare la lampada a infrarossi per i seguenti scopi:

Rilassamento muscolare.

Preparazione ad una seduta di massaggi.

Informazioni di sicurezza importanti

Prima di utilizzare il dispositivo, leggete attentamente queste informazioni importanti e conservatele

Controindicazioni

-

Non usate l'apparecchio senza consultare prima un medico se soffrite di malattie gravi come
patologie cardiache, infiammazioni gravi, trombosi, disturbi legati alla coagulazione sanguigna,
insufficienza renale, lupus eritematoso sistemico o disturbi maligni.

-

Non usate l'apparecchio in caso di ipersensibilità alla luce infrarossa. Se in dubbio, consultate
sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non utilizzate il dispositivo in caso di edema. Se in dubbio, consultate sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non usate l'apparecchio in caso di mancata sensibilità alle radiazioni infrarosse e al calore a
seguito di determinate patologie (ad esempio in caso di diabete in fase avanzata) o a causa
dell'uso di antidolorifici. Se in dubbio, consultate sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non usate l'apparecchio se soffrite di patologie associate alla riduzione della guaina mielinica che
ricopre i nervi come sindrome del tunnel carpale, sclerosi multipla e neuropatia ulnare. Se in
dubbio, consultate sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non usate l'apparecchio in prossimità di dispositivi sottocutanei, particolarmente se si trovano
vicino all'area da trattare. Se in dubbio, consultate sempre il vostro medico.

-

In caso di gravidanza non utilizzate l'apparecchio per il trattamento delle zone in prossimità
dell'addome al fine di evitare il surriscaldamento di questa area. Se in dubbio, consultate sempre il
vostro medico.

-

Non utilizzate l'apparecchio in presenza di gonfiori o infiammazioni, in quanto il calore potrebbe
aggravare la patologia. Se in dubbio, consultate sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non utilizzate l'apparecchio su pelle arrossata o irritata oppure su ferite. Se in dubbio, consultate
sempre il vostro medico.

-

Non usate l'apparecchio per il trattamento di zone su cui sono state applicate sostanze per la cura
mirata delle irritazioni (creme o pomate contenenti, ad esempio, mentolo), al fine di evitare reazioni
infiammatorie leggere.

Avvertenza

Questo apparecchio consente di curare i dolori muscolari, articolari e la rigidità dei muscoli e delle

L'uso dell'apparecchio adiacente ad altri apparecchi o impilato con essi deve essere evitato in
quanto potrebbe causare un funzionamento scorretto. Qualora fosse necessario, tenere sotto
controllo l'apparecchio e altri dispositivi per verificare che funzionino normalmente.

Le apparecchiature portatili per comunicazioni RF (comprese periferiche come cavi dell'antenna e
antenne esterne) devono essere utilizzate a una distanza di almeno 30 cm da qualsiasi parte del

Attenzione

Se la presa di corrente a cui viene collegato l'apparecchio presenta collegamenti scadenti, la spina

Il dispositivo è dotato di una protezione automatica contro il surriscaldamento. Se il dispositivo
non si raffredda adeguatamente, il dispositivo si spegne automaticamente. Rimuovere la causa del
surriscaldamento. Non appena il dispositivo si raffredda, è possibile riaccenderlo ruotando la
manopola del timer.

Lasciate raffreddare l'apparecchio per circa 15 minuti prima di toccarlo, pulirloo riporlo.

Predisposizione del dispositivo

Nota: Non appendete l'apparecchio al soffitto o alla parete.

1 Srotolate completamente il cavo di alimentazione.
2 Appoggiate l'apparecchio su una superficie (fig. 2) stabile e piana.
3 Controllate che l'apparecchio sia posizionato a una distanza di almeno 25 cm da altri oggetti per

Utilizzo del dispositivo

1 Scegliete la distanza idonea in piedi o sdraiati dall'apparecchio.

Togliete gli indumenti e i gioielli dall'area da trattare.

Usate la luce a infrarossi sulla cute nuda.

-

A una distanza di 30 cm dal corpo, il dispositivo riscalda un'area di circa 40 cm per 30 cm. A una
distanza maggiore l'area riscaldata aumenta, ma la luce a infrarossi e il calore sono meno intensi. A
una distanza minore l'area riscaldata diminuisce, ma la luce a infrarossi e il calore sono più intensi.

2 Inserite la spina nella presa di corrente a muro.
3 Posizionate l'apparecchio correttamente. Seguono alcuni esempi.

Per curare i dolori alle spalle, il torcicollo o i dolori alla parte alta della schiena, posizionare il
dispositivo sul tavolo e inclinare l'alloggiamento della lampada all'indietro. Sedersi su una sedia o
uno sgabello con la schiena rivolta verso la lampada (fig. 6).

Per curare i dolori alla zona lombare, posizionare il dispositivo su un tavolo accanto a una sedia.
Sedersi su una sedia o uno sgabello con la schiena rivolta verso la lampada (fig. 7).

Per curare un gomito dolorante, posizionare il dispositivo su un tavolo e sedersi su una sedia
accanto al tavolo (fig. 8).

-

Per curare i dolori alle ginocchia, posizionare il dispositivo su un comodino. Sdraiarsi sul letto con
una gamba rivolta verso la lampada (fig. 9).

4 Per accendere l'apparecchio, posizionate la manopola del timer sulperiodo di tempo (fig. 10) di

cura desiderato.

-

Potete scegliere un periodo di cura tra 0 e 30 minuti.

5 Regolate la direzione dei raggi di luce infrarossi verso la parte del corpo da curare, inclinando

l'alloggiamento della lampada all'indietro (fig. 4).

-

Scegliete una distanza alla quale la sensazione di calore risulta confortevole sulla pelle. Se il calore
diventa troppo intenso, aumentate la distanza.

6 Trascorso il tempo di trattamento impostato, l'apparecchio si spegnerà automaticamente.

-

Se desiderate spegnere l'apparecchio prima che scada il periodo di cura desiderato, ruotate la
manopola del timer su 0 minuti.

Nota: Se scollegate l'apparecchio dalla presa a muro mentre il timer è attivo, il timer continua a fare il
conto alla rovescia e ticchetta.

Avvertenza: Per evitare danni agli occhi, non fissate la luce della lampada quando è
accesa. Non è necessario indossare occhiali di protezione in quanto InfraCare (300 W) ha
uno schermo speciale che filtra la luce ultravioletta.

Durata del trattamento

La durata del trattamento dipende dal tipo di trattamento e dalla persona esposta. Il trattamento di
un singolo muscolo o articolazione deve durare circa 15 minuti. Se necessario, ripetere il trattamento
varie volte al giorno. Potete ripetere una serie di vari trattamenti al giorno o per vari giorni consecutivi
per ottenere il miglior risultato. Se non si riscontrano miglioramenti dopo 6-8 sedute, interrompete
l'uso dell'apparecchio e consultate il vostro medico. Per problemi cronici, usate il dispositivo per
periodi di tempo più lunghi. Attenersi alle seguenti istruzioni per unuso (vedere 'Avvertenza') sicuro.

Avvertenza: In caso di dubbi, chiedete sempre il parere del vostro medico.

Pulizia

Nota: Non utilizzate spugnette abrasive, detergenti abrasivi o liquidi aggressivi, come
benzina o acetone, per pulire il dispositivo.

1 Staccate l'apparecchio e lasciate raffreddare la lampada per circa 15 minuti prima di pulire

l'apparecchio.

immagazzinarlo.

2 Arrotolate il cavo di alimentazione e avvolgetelo con il velcro..

Nota: Sollevare o trasportare il dispositivo servendosi sempre dell'impugnatura (fig. 12).

3 Tenete l'apparecchio in un luogo asciutto.

Met de Philips InfraCare (300 W) kunt u thuis comfortabel spier- en gewrichtspijn verlichten. Het
apparaat straalt net als de zon infrarood licht uit.

De speciale glasplaat (het filter) laat alleen het licht door dat nodig is voor het beoogde
therapeutische effect. De Philips InfraCare (300 W) kan ook worden gebruikt voor spierontspanning of
ter voorbereiding voor een massage.

Effecten van een infraroodlamp

De InfraCare straalt infrarood licht uit, dat diep in de huid doordringt en de weefsels verwarmt. De
warmte moduleert de zenuwsignalen naar de hersenen en vermindert zo pijn. Warmte stimuleert ook
de plaatselijke doorbloeding en verwijdt de bloedvaten, waardoor de stoffen die nodig zijn om
lichaamsweefsels te herstellen en voeden, sneller worden getransporteerd. Bovendien versnelt de
warmte die door infrarood licht wordt gegenereerd het stofwisselingsproces en de verwijdering van
afvalstoffen uit het lichaam. Warmte maakt weefsel soepeler, waardoor stijfheid afneemt en
gewrichten flexibeler worden. De voordelen die worden beschreven, kunnen pijn als gevolg van spier­en gewrichtsproblemen verlichten.

Opmerking: Lees het gedeelte 'Waarschuwing' in het hoofdstuk 'Belangrijke veiligheidsinformatie' en
volg de instructies voordat u het apparaat gebruikt.

Infrarood licht wordt uitgestraald op een golflengte van 700 tot meer dan 3000 nm en valt in de
klassen IR-A (korte golf, 700-1400 nm), IR-B (middellange golf, 1400-3000 nm) en IR-C (lange golf,

>3000 nm). Korte infraroodgolven (IR-A) dringen het diepst door in de huid. De glasplaat (het filter)
van Philips is geoptimaliseerd om een grote hoeveelheid IR-A-licht door te laten.

Beoogd gebruik

De infraroodlamp is een therapeutisch apparaat voor plaatselijke warmte. De volgende
therapeutische toepassingen zijn mogelijk:

Behandeling van incidentele of chronische spierpijn, stijve spieren en stijve gewrichten.

-

Behandeling van pijn in de onderrug.

-

Behandeling van pijn als gevolg van reumatische aandoeningen (niet tijdens een ontstekingsfase)

Dit apparaat is bedoeld voor gebruik binnenshuis door volwassenen met acute of chronische spier- of
gewrichtspijn.

Contra-indicaties

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet zonder eerst uw arts te raadplegen indien u aan een ernstige ziekte lijdt,
zoals een hartaandoening, een acute ontsteking, trombose, bloedstollingsziekte, bijniersuppressie,
systemische lupus erythematosus of een kwaadaardige ziekte.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet indien u overgevoelig bent voor infrarood licht. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw
arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet indien u oedeem hebt. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet indien u ongevoelig bent voor infrarode straling en warmte als gevolg
van een ziekte (bijv. ernstige diabetes) of vanwege het gebruik van pijnstillers. Raadpleeg bij twijfel
uw arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet indien u lijdt aan een aandoening die verband houdt met demyelinisatie
van de zenuwen, zoals carpaaltunnelsyndroom, multiple sclerose en ulnaris neuropathie.
Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet indien u een elektrisch implantaat hebt, met name als dit zich in de buurt
van het behandelgebied bevindt. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

-

Indien u zwanger bent, gebruik het apparaat dan niet om gebieden dicht bij uw buik te
behandelen, om oververhitting van dit gebied te voorkomen. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet als u een zwelling of een ontsteking hebt, omdat de warmte de klachten
zou kunnen verergeren. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet op de beschadigde of geïrriteerde huid en gebruik het niet op wonden.
Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

Gebruik het apparaat niet om gebieden te behandelen waarop u onlangs een middel tegen
huidirritatie hebt aangebracht (crèmes of zalven die bijv. menthol bevatten), aangezien dit een
milde ontstekingsreactie kan veroorzaken.

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet als u last hebt van een slechte thermoregulatie of verminderde circulatie.
Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw arts.

Waarschuwing

-

Water en elektriciteit vormen een gevaarlijke combinatie. Gebruik dit apparaat niet in een vochtige
omgeving (bijv. in de badkamer of naast een douche of een zwembad).

-

Gebruik het apparaat niet als het glas beschadigd is of ontbreekt, of als de coating van het glas
beschadigd is.

-

Raak het glas of de voorkant van het apparaat niet aan wanneer het apparaat is ingeschakeld. Het
oppervlak is zeer warm en kan brandwonden (zie 'Let op') veroorzaken.

-

Steek nooit voorwerpen in het apparaat. Dit kan de werking van het apparaat verstoren of zelfs een
elektrische schok veroorzaken.

-

Laat geen water in het apparaat lopen of op het apparaat terechtkomen.

-

Controleer of het voltage dat wordt aangegeven op het apparaat, overeenkomt met de plaatselijke
netspanning voordat u het apparaat aansluit.

-

Indien het netsnoer beschadigd is, moet het worden vervangen door Philips, een door Philips
erkend servicecentrum of personen met vergelijkbare kwalificaties om gevaar te voorkomen.

-

Laat het apparaat niet onbeheerd achter wanneer het is ingeschakeld.

-

Dit apparaat is niet bedoeld voor gebruik door personen met verminderde lichamelijke, zintuiglijke
of geestelijke vermogens, of die gebrek aan ervaring of kennis hebben, tenzij iemand die
verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid, toezicht op hen houdt of hun heeft uitgelegd hoe het
apparaat dient te worden gebruikt.

-

Dit apparaat is niet bedoeld voor gebruik door kinderen. Houd toezicht op kinderen om te
voorkomen dat ze met het apparaat gaan spelen.

-

Bescherm het apparaat altijd tegen ongeautoriseerd gebruik en berg het apparaat op volgens de
instructies (zie 'Opbergen') voor opslag.

-

Houd het apparaat en het snoer buiten het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren om het risico op
brandwonden en andere verwondingen door contact met het apparaat of het vallen van het
apparaat te voorkomen. Snoeren leveren gevaar voor verwurging op. Houd knoopbatterijen buiten
het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren.

Dit apparaat is bedoeld voor de behandeling van spier- en gewrichtspijn en spier- en
gewrichtsstijfheid, en niet voor de behandeling van buikpijn, aangezichtspijn en andere soorten
pijn.

-

Voorkom oververhitting van de huid; de warmte dient gedurende de hele behandeling aangenaam
te zijn.

-

Stel uw ogen niet bloot aan de lichtbron binnen 1 meter van het apparaat om oogletsel te
voorkomen. Kijk niet in de lichtbron van de lamp; dit kan oogletsel veroorzaken.

-

Als er na 6-8 behandelingen geen verbetering optreedt, stop dan met het gebruik van het
apparaat en raadpleeg uw arts.

-

Val niet in slaap tijdens de behandeling.

-

Voer geen aanpassingen uit aan dit apparaat.

-

Plaats geen brandbare en/of hittegevoelige voorwerpen (zoals elektronische apparaten) in de
buurt van het apparaat.

Gebruik dit apparaat niet naast of boven op andere apparatuur, aangezien dit kan leiden tot een
onjuiste werking van het apparaat. Als u geen andere optie hebt, houd dit apparaat en de andere
apparaten dan goed in de gaten om er zeker van te zijn dat ze naar behoren werken.

Draagbare RF-communicatieapparatuur (inclusief randapparatuur zoals antennekabels en externe

Let op

stopcontact.

Stel het apparaat niet bloot aan zware schokken.

Haal na gebruik en bij een stroomstoring altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact.

Plaats het apparaat op een stabiele, vlakke ondergrond (Fig. 2). Zorg dat er minstens 25 cm vrije
ruimte rondom het apparaat is om oververhitting (Fig. 3) te voorkomen.

Zorg dat de ventilatieopeningen aan de achterzijde van het apparaat tijdens gebruik open blijven.

Bedek het apparaat niet met bijvoorbeeld een doek of een kledingstuk wanneer het is
ingeschakeld.

Het apparaat is voorzien van een automatische beveiliging tegen oververhitting. Als het apparaat
onvoldoende wordt gekoeld, wordt het apparaat automatisch uitgeschakeld. Verwijder de oorzaak
van de oververhitting. Wanneer het apparaat is afgekoeld, kunt u het weer inschakelen door aan de
timerknop te draaien.

Laat het apparaat ongeveer 15 minuten afkoelen voordat u het aanraakt, schoonmaakt of opbergt.

-

Als u net hebt gezwommen of een douche hebt genomen, zorg dan dat uw huid goed droog is
voordat u het apparaat gebruikt.

Gebruik het apparaat nooit als de glasplaat (het filter) beschadigd of kapot is, of ontbreekt.

De waarschuwingstekens en symbolen moeten ervoor zorgen dat u dit product veilig en op de juiste
manier gebruikt, om u en anderen voor letsel te behoeden. Hieronder vindt u een overzicht van de
waarschuwingstekens en symbolen die op het etiket en in de gebruiksaanwijzing voorkomen en de
betekenis ervan.

Dit symbool geeft aan dat u vóór gebruik van het apparaat de gebruiksaanwijzing
aandachtig dient door te lezen. Bewaar de gebruiksaanwijzing goed, zodat u deze zo
nodig op een later tijdstip kunt raadplegen.

Dit symbool waarschuwt u voor hete oppervlakken.

Dit symbool geeft aan dat de gebruiker de gebruiksaanwijzing dient te raadplegen voor
belangrijke veiligheidsinformatie zoals contra-indicaties, waarschuwingen en

voldoet aan de eisen van de Richtlijn Medische Hulpmiddelen 93/42/EEG.

Dit symbool wordt gevolgd door de naam van de fabrikant: Philips Consumer Lifestyle B.V,
Tussendiepen 4, 9206 AD Drachten, Nederland.

Dit symbool geeft aan dat dit product niet samen met het gewone huishoudelijke afval

Dit symbool wordt gevolgd door het serienummer van de fabrikant. Aan de hand van het
serienummer kan een specifiek apparaat worden geïdentificeerd. De eerste 8 cijfers van

Dit symbool geeft het bereik aan van de relatieve luchtvochtigheid waaraan het apparaat
veilig kan worden blootgesteld: maximaal 93%.

Dit symbool geeft aan dat een voorwerp kan worden gerecycled, niet dat het is gerecycled
of bij alle inzamelpunten voor recycling wordt geaccepteerd.

Dit symbool geeft aan dat dit apparaat voldoetaan de eisen van de Europese Richtlijn
Medische Hulpmiddelen 93/42/EEG'. Het nummer ‘0344’ verwijst naar de aangemelde
keuringsinstantie.

Dit symbool geeft het temperatuurbereik aan waaraan de infraroodlamp tijdens opslag en
vervoer veilig kan worden blootgesteld: -25°C tot +70°C.

Dit symbool geeft het volgende aan: beschermd tegen aanraking van gevaarlijke
onderdelen met een vinger of voorwerpen van vergelijkbare grootte en tegen verticaal
vallende waterdruppels.

Dit symbool waarschuwt voor optische straling afkomstig van het apparaat die kan leiden

EMC/EMF-informatie

Dit Philips-apparaat voldoet aan alle relevante richtlijnen en voorschriften met betrekking tot

De Philips InfraCare-infraroodlamp is geschikt voor gebruik in alle gebouwen, waaronder woningen en
andere gebouwen die rechtstreeks zijn aangesloten op het openbare laagspanningsnetwerk dat

Klaarmaken voor gebruik

Opmerking: Hang het apparaat niet aan het plafond of aan de muur.

Het apparaat gebruiken

1 Ga op de juiste afstand van het apparaat zitten of liggen.

-

Verwijder eventuele kleding en sieraden van het te behandelen gebied.

-

Het infraroodlicht moet op de blote huid worden gebruikt.

-

Op een afstand van 30 cm tot het lichaam verwarmt het apparaat een gebied van circa 40 bij 30
cm. Bij een grotere afstand wordt een groter gebied verwarmd, maar zijn het infraroodlicht en de
warmte minder intens. Bij een kleinere afstand wordt een kleiner gebied verwarmd, maar zijn het
infraroodlicht en de warmte intenser.

2 Steek de stekker in een stopcontact.
3 Zet het apparaat goed neer op een geschikte plaats. Hieronder vindt u enkele voorbeelden.

-

Om een pijnlijke schouder, een pijnlijke nek of een gedeelte van uw bovenrug te behandelen,
plaatst u het apparaat op een tafel en kantelt u de lampbehuizing naar achteren. Ga op een stoel
of kruk zitten, met uw rug naar de lamp (Fig. 6).

-

Om onderrugpijn te behandelen, plaatst u het apparaat op een tafel naast een stoel of kruk. Ga op
de stoel of kruk zitten, met uw rug naar de lamp (Fig. 7).

-

Om een pijnlijke elleboog te behandelen, plaatst u het apparaat op een tafel en gaat u ernaast (Fig.

8) zitten.

-

Om een pijnlijke knie te behandelen, plaatst u het apparaat op een nachtkastje. Ga met één been
opgetrokken op bed liggen, met uw knie naar de lamp (Fig. 9).

4 Draai de timerknop naar de gewenste behandeltijd (Fig. 10) om het apparaat in te schakelen.

-

U kunt kiezen tussen een behandeltijd van 0 en 30 minuten.

5 Richt de infraroodstraal op het te behandelen lichaamsdeel door de lampbehuizing naar achteren

(Fig. 4) te kantelen.

-

Kies een afstand waarop de warmte aangenaam voelt op uw huid. Vergroot de afstand tussen u en
het apparaat als de warmte te intens wordt.

6 Het apparaat wordt automatisch uitgeschakeld wanneer de ingestelde behandeltijd is verstreken.

-

Als u het apparaat wilt uitschakelen voordat de ingestelde behandeltijd is verstreken, draait u de
timerknop naar 0 minuten.

Opmerking: Als u de stekker van het apparaat uit het stopcontact haalt terwijl de timer is
ingeschakeld, blijft de timer aftellen en een tikgeluid maken.

Waarschuwing: Kijk niet in het licht van de lamp als deze aan is om schade aan uw ogen
te voorkomen. U hoeft geen beschermbril te dragen, aangezien de InfraCare (300 W) is
voorzien van een speciale afscherming die UV-licht uitfiltert.

Duur van behandeling

De behandelduur is afhankelijk van het type behandeling en de persoon die wordt behandeld. De
behandeling van één spier of gewricht duurt circa 15 minuten. Zo nodig kan de behandeling meerdere
keren per dag worden herhaald. Voor een bevredigend resultaat kunt u een serie van meerdere
behandelingen per dag op meerdere achtereenvolgende dagen herhalen. Als er na 6-8
behandelingen geen verbetering optreedt, stop dan met het gebruik van het apparaat en raadpleeg
uw arts. Bij chronische problemen kan het apparaat gedurende een langere periode worden gebruikt.
Volg de instructies voor een veilig gebruik (zie 'Waarschuwing') van het apparaat.

Schoonmaken

Opmerking: Gebruik nooit een schuurspons, schurend schoonmaakmiddel of agressieve
vloeistof zoals benzine of aceton om het apparaat schoon te maken.

1 Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat de lamp ongeveer 15 minuten afkoelen voordat u het

apparaat schoonmaakt.

2 Maak de lampbehuizing, de voet en de stang schoon met een vochtige doek.
3 U kunt de buitenkant van de glasplaat (het filter) schoonmaken met een zachte doek die is

besprenkeld met wat spiritus.

Waarschuwing: Laat geen water in het apparaat lopen of op het apparaat terechtkomen.

Opbergen

Opmerking: Voorkom dat het netsnoer in aanraking komt met de glasplaat (het filter)
wanneer de glasplaat warm is.

1 Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat de lamp ongeveer 15 minuten afkoelen voordat u het

apparaat opbergt.

2 Rol het netsnoer op en wikkel het klittenband eromheen (Fig. 11).

Opmerking: Pak het apparaat altijd vast bij de handgreep (Fig. 12) om het te dragen of op te tillen.

3 Bewaar het apparaat op een droge plaats.

Recyclen

Dit symbool betekent dat dit product niet samen met het gewone huishoudelijke afval mag worden
