Introduction

Read this user manual carefully before you use the straps for the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch and save it for future reference.

Intended use

These straps are intended to be used with the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch, type number PR3092. The BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch is a device that is intended to be used on the upper or lower back and that can be positioned and adjusted on the treatment area by means of a fabric strap.

Important

-- Use the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in one of the Philips straps that has been specially designed for it.The straps are not supplied with the patch and have to be obtained separately.

-- To prevent damage to the BlueTouch Pain Relief straps, wash them in a fine-mesh washing bag.

-- PR3081/00, PR3081/01, PR3083/00, PR3083/01: are made of 85% polyester, 15% cotton. -- PR3081/02, PR3081/03, PR3083/02, PR3083/03: are made of 95% polyester, 5% elastane.

Explanation of symbols

-- This symbol means:Wash at a temperature of 30°C max (Fig. 1). -- This symbol means: Do not bleach (Fig. 2).

-- This symbol means: Do not tumble-dry (Fig. 3). -- This symbol means: Do not iron (Fig. 4).

-- This symbol means: Do not dry clean (Fig. 5).

-- This symbol means: Conforms to EC Directives. CE stands for ‘Conformité Européenne’ (Fig. 6). -- This symbol means “manufactured by’ and provides the address of the legal manufacturer (Fig. 7). -- This symbol means that the material has been tested for harmful substances according to

Oeko-Tex® standard 100 (Fig. 8).

-- This symbol means that this strap is to be used on the lower back (Fig. 9). -- This symbol means that this strap is to be used on the upper back (Fig. 10).

Using your BlueTouch straps

The preferred method for fastening the Pain Relief Patch to the body is by means of one of the BlueTouch Pain Relief straps.There is a special strap for treatment of the upper back and a special strap for treatment of the lower back.

Note: Do not wear multiple layers of clothing or tight or thick clothing over the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch to prevent the device from switching off before the treatment has been completed. If you wear too tight or thick clothing, the infrared sensor will measure a too high temperature and switch off the device.

Positioning the lower back strap

To place the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in the strap, follow the steps below.

1Put the lower back strap and the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in front of you on a table. Slide the left side of the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch behind the elastic edge of the opening in the strap.  (Fig. 11)

2Then slide the other end of the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch behind the opposite elastic edge of the opening so that the whole patch is inside the lower back strap. Check to make sure that the LEDs are not covered by the material of the strap. If necessary, shift the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch a little (Fig. 12).

3Remove clothing from the area to be treated.

Note: Make sure the skin in the area to be treated is clean, entirely dry and free from creams, lotions and other cosmetics.

4Wrap the lower back strap with the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in it around your waist with the opening of the strap facing your back (Fig. 13).

5Fasten the lower back strap with the Velcro strips on both ends of the lower back strap.  (Fig. 14)

Note: Make sure the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in the strap is located on the area to be treated and the LED area is in contact with the skin.

Positioning the upper back strap

1To put the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in the upper back strap, follow the same procedure as described in steps 1 and 2 in section ‘Positioning the lower back strap’ above.

2Pull the shoulder slings forward (1) and fasten them to the Velcro strips on the waistband (2) (Fig. 15).

3Remove clothing from the area to be treated.

Note: Make sure the skin in the area to be treated is clean, entirely dry and free from creams, lotions and other cosmetics.

4Put the upper back strap on like a jacket. First put one arm through the shoulder sling attached to the waistband on one side and then do the same on the other side (Fig. 16).

Note: Make sure the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch in the strap is located on the area to be treated and the LED area is in contact with the skin.

5Fasten the waistband with the Velcro strips (Fig. 17).

6Adjust the shoulder slings to the preferred length.  (Fig. 18)

7Alternatively,you can first put the upper back strap on your back,fasten the waistband and then attach the Velcro strips of the shoulder slings crosswise to the waistband.This may provide a better fit for some individuals (Fig. 19).

Cleaning

Always remove the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch from the strap before you put the strap in the washing machine to clean it.

-- The BlueTouch Pain Relief straps can be washed in the washing machine (Fig. 20).

Caution:To prevent damage to the BlueTouch Pain Relief straps,wash them in a fine-mesh washing bag.

-- Use a gentle cycle and a temperature of 30°C maximum. Dry the BlueTouch Pain Relief straps on the air and not in the tumble dryer. Do not iron the straps.

Replacement

You can purchase new straps. Check the tables below for the type numbers and sizes.
