1. Introduction and technical data
1.1. Purpose of manual
This manual describes the checking and, if necessary, spreading of the pins of the high-voltage plugs from
Philips Medical Systems.

1.3. Compatibility
The pin gage is compatible with split phosphorous bronze pins for the high-voltage plugs from Philips Medical
Systems.
1.4. Safety information
The general legal and factory safety recommendations for this X-ray equipment and the following
recommendations must be strictly observed!
Start of operation and maintenance work and, especially, electrical work must only be executed by authorized
persons.
Warning!
The system/component must be switched OFF during replacement work.
Any X-ray unit produces ionizing radiation which may be harmful if not properly
controlled. Therefore, it is recommended that this equipment be operated in accordance
with the guidelines set down by the national council on radiation protection.

2. Use of the pin gage
Philips Medical Systems high-voltage plugs are manufactured with split phosphorous bronze pins.
Although the pins are spread to the desired distance of 1mm distance in the factory, please check the
spreading.
2.1. Check of the pins
• Carefully check the pins with the pin gage.
Check the pins with the gage
(Put the gage on the pin)
2.2. Spreading of the pins
• Carefully spread the pins with the pin gage to achieve the 1mm distance, only is necessary.
Incorrect split pin spread the pin with the gage correct split pin
(Put the gage on the incorrect pin)
