PHILIPS G3 AUTODOMES

Since the development of integrated domed high speed pan/tilt

zoom cameras, almost a decade ago, AutoDome has been

synonymous with innovation, superior performance and

reliability.

Philips G3 AutoDome systems are designed to meet the needs

of your security application.They easily integrate with our entire

security product line, including multiplexers, recorders, and the

Allegiant matrix switchers. Our Unity

TM

Domes, which have the

same appearance as the G3, but contain a pre-configured fixed

camera and lens combination, are the perfect complement to

the G3 installation.

Also available is the e-dome

TM

, a camera that let’s you see and

record everything.....all the time.

PHILIPS G3 AUTODOMES

There are the 3 families of domes, with a selection of dome

covers, and a selection of cameras that Philips offers.

Choose the one best suited to your application from the table

on page 4.

Philips’ G3B AutoDomes

Philips’ G3B AutoDomes are anything but basic. They are an

affordable, yet full featured G3 AutoDome. The G3B high

resolution, color 12x optical zoom camera assembly mounts

into either the pendant mount or the in-ceiling box, and there

are even dummy versions. In common with all Philips G3

AutoDomes the G3B includes an On-screen Display (OSD) for

programming, 16 zone sectors and 99 pre-positions, each with

separate 16-character title. The auto-playback (Guard Tour)

feature allows you to store 2 separate tours totaling 15 minutes

of duration. G3B includes auto-focus and our patented

AutoPivot feature. The Philips G3B AutoDome is ideal for

routine indoor applications such as retail and office

environments.

Philips G3A AutoDomes

When the requirements get more demanding the Philips G3A

comes into its own. It has all the key features of the Philips G3

AutoDome range but now the performance is extended for

when the going gets tough. The 18x optical zoom and 12x

digital zoom high resolution camera means you can really get

close to the subject, and see all the details you need. The

sensitive color camera gives sharp bright pictures, but if the

scene can get really dark, the day/night version is ideal. The

Philips G3A AutoDome is ideal for demanding indoor

applications such as retail, casinos, banks, warehouses and car

parks.

Philips EnviroDome

The EnviroDome is the outdoor version of the G3A

AutoDome, with addtional 25x optical zoom function. It comes

complete with heater, blower and sunshield.With IP66, Nema 4,

protection the EnviroDomes can be used in virtually any

outdoor application, and are ideal for, Public area surveillance,

transport and distribution, car parks etc.

PHILIPS G3 AUTODOMES

AutoDome

®

Fully Integrated high speed Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera built into protective dome
housing allowing full 360o coverage of the scene.

AutoDome Address

Each AutoDome has a numerical unique address in the control system in
which it is located.This allows the appropriate dome to be controlled.The
address may be set manually on the unit via dipswitchesor remotely, see “Fast
Address”

AutoFocus

The lens is automatically set to the correct focus giving the sharpest picture.

AutoIris

The lens iris opening is automatically adjusted to allow the correct illumination
of the camera sensor.

AutoPan

The camera pans continuously between 2 set positions. Prepos LEFT LIMIT &
Prepos RIGHT LIMIT

AutoPivot

®

As the camera tilts through the vertical position the camera is rotated to
maintain the correct orientation of the image.

AutoPlay

This function records the sequence of movements of the AutoDome (P/T/Z)
for later play back allowing a set pattern to be repeated automatically.

AutoScaling

As the camera is zoomed in to increase the size of objects on the monitor
screen the pan and tilt speeds are reduced so that the relative speed on the
screen remains constant for similar joystick control position.

Day/Night AutoDome

An AutoDome that has normal colour operation in situations where there is
sufficient illumination i.e.(day condition), but where the sensitivity can be
increased when there is little light available(night condition).This is achieved by
removing the infra red cut filter used for good colour rendition and/or
integrating a number of frames to increase the signal to noise ratio of the
camera.

Digital Stabilization

Provides less movement of the picture when effected by enviromental
conditions.

EnviroDome

®

An AutoDome that has a higher degree of environmental protection that
allows it to be used outdoors in almost any climate.

Fast Address

®

A software way of assigning the address of the AutoDome remotely from the
control system.

Guard Tour (Pan between Prepositions)

A sequence of pre set shots combined to provide a pre programmed tour of
the area covered by an AutoDome Camera.

IP Level

The IP standard relates to the standard ***** water and dust protection tests.
In the standard nomenclature IPxy, “x” refers to the protection against dust,
while “y” refers to the level of protection against water ingress. Higher digits
refer to higher levels of protection.

Pan

Camera movement in the horizontal direction
Pre-position
A pre-selected and stored combination of the position of the camera as well

as several internal camera functions , that can be recalled ,known as Pre Set
Shot

Pre Set Shots

See Pre -position
Privacy Zones
segments of the field of view of the camera where the video signal is blanked

to prevent from being seen.Used to prevent certain areas being viewed, e.g.
private houses near industrial complexes

Privacy Masking

Provides masking of up to 6 individual image areas, to allow for areas of the
image that are considered private and should not be viewed.

Spot Focus

Focussing mode where only the centre of the field of view is used for
focussing the image. This action is done only once every time the camera
stops at a scene

Tilt

Camera movement in vertical direction

Zoom

Changing the effective focal length to allow different fields of view to fill the
picture area.
