Mains fuse (UK only)
This product is in compliance with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directives 2006/95/EC (Low Voltage), 2004/108/EC (EMC).
This product is  tted with an approved moulded plug. Should it become necessary to replace the mains fuse, this must be replaced with a fuse of the same value as indicated on the plug (example 10A).
1 Remove fuse cover and fuse. 2 The replacement fuse must comply with
BS 1362 and have the ASTA approval mark. If the fuse is lost, contact your dealer in order to verify the correct type.
3 Re t the fuse cover.
Note
To conform with the EMC directive (2004/108/EC), the mains plug on this product must not be detached from the mains cord.

About Progressive Scan
Consumers should note that not all high de nition television sets are fully compatible with this product and may cause artifacts to be displayed in the picture. In case of 525 or 625 progressive scan picture problems, it is recommended that the user switch the connection to the ‘standard de nition’ output. If there are questions regarding our TV set compatibility with this model 525p and 625p DVD player, please contact our customer service center.

3 Connect
Make the following connections to use your Home Theater System.

Note
Refer to the type plate at the back or bottom of the product for identi cation and supply ratings. Before you make or change any connections,
ensure that all devices are disconnected from the power outlet.
Tip
Place the product
Place the product where it cannot be • pushed, pulled over or knocked down. Do not place it in an enclosed cabinet. Be sure that you have full access to the • power cord for easy disconnection of the product from the power supply.

1 Place the home theater near your TV. 2 Place the speakers system at normal
listening height and parallel to your listening area.
3 Place the subwoofer in the corner of the
room or at least 1 meter/3 feet away from your TV.
Tip
To reduce interference or noise, place the home theater away from radiation devices.

Attach the table stand to this home theater before place it on a table top. (see ‘Attach table stand’ on page 15 ) Y ou can mount this home theater .
Connect video cables
Option 1: Connect to the HDMI jack
Connect this Home Theater System to TV to view disc play. Select the best video connection that the TV can support.
Option 1: Connect to the HDMI jack (for • a HDMI, DVI or HDCP-compliant TV). Option 2: Connect to the SCART jack • (for a standard TV). Option 3: Connect to the component • video jacks (for a standard TV or Progressive Scan TV).
Note
You must connect this Home Theater System directly to a TV.
Before you connect
1 Push up the catch and remove the rear
cover.

1 Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied)
to the HDMI OUT jack on this Home Theater System and the HDMI input jack on the TV.
2 Connect the cables to the corresponding
jacks and direct the cables to the open hole on top.
See the connection options in the
following pages.
3 Once complete, close the rear cover.

Note
If your device supports HDMI CEC, you can control compliant devices with a single remote control. (see ‘Get started’ > ‘Use Philips EasyLink’).
Tip
If the TV has a DVI connection only, connect via a HDMI/DVI adaptor. Connect an audio cable for sound output. You can optimize the video output. (see
‘Adjust settings’ > ‘Video setup’ > [HDMI Setup] ). This type of connection provides the best
picture quality.
All the cables must be placed inside the rear panel in order to close the rear cover properly.

Option2: Connect to the SCART jack

1 Connect a scart cable to the SCART jack
on this Home Theater System and the SCART input jack on the TV.
Option 3: Connect to the component video jack

Note
Scart connection allows TV’s audio output through the speakers. Press AUDIO SOURCE repeatedly until ‘SCART INPUT’ is displayed on the display panel. This type of connection provides good picture
quality.
1 Connect the component video cable to
the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jack on this Home Theater System and the COMPONENT VIDEO input jack on the TV.
If a progressive scan TV is used, you • may turn on the progressive scan mode .
Note
The component video input jack on the TV might be labeled as Y Pb Pr , Y Cb Cr or YUV . This type of connection provides good picture
quality.

jack on the subwoofer (for some models, this cable is already connected).
2 Extend the FM antenna and  x its ends to
the wall.

matching jacks on the subwoofer.
2 Unwind the subwoofer’s interconnect
cable at TO MAIN UNIT and connect it to the TO SUBWOOFER jack on this Home Theater System.
For better FM stereo reception, connect to an external FM antenna.
Note
Ensure that the front portion of the plug is fully inserted into the jack.

Route the audio from other devices to this Home Theater System to enjoy audio play with multi-channel surround capabilities.

Connect audio from a cable box, recorder or games console
You can choose to connect to analog or digital jacks depending on the device capabilities.

supplied) to the MP3 LINK jack on this Home Theater System and the phone jack on the portable media player (such as MP3 player).
