UConditions of Repair Warranty
1. All claims for warranty service should be made to your nearest Philips Authorised Service Centre or the Philips Technology Care Centre. Reasonable evidence of date of purchase must be provided.
2. This warranty extends only to defects in material or workmanship occurring under normal use of the product when operated in accordance with the instructions.
3. If a replacement product is supplied under the repair policy, it is warranted for the remainder of the warranty period of the original purchased product only.
4. Home service is provided only within the normal service area of one of our recommended Authorised Service Centres (ASC). It will be provided for television receivers only with a screen size of 67cms or above (product includes CRT,
LCD TV, PTV, and Plasma TV). Televisions with screen sizes less than 67 cms and all other product types are to be taken or sent by the consumer to the workshop of your nearest Authorised Service Centre, at the Consumer’s expense.
5. This Manufacturers Warranty is limited to 3 months for the above listed Consumer Electronics Products if used in commercial applications.
6. Philips may, at its discretion choose to replace rather than repair any product covered by this warranty.
7. Product accessories are covered by the same warranty period. Please contact the Philips Technology Care Centre for free replacement of faulty accessories.
8. This Manufacturers Warranty is neither transferable nor valid in countries other
than Australia.
UThis warranty does not
cover:
a) Mileage or travel outside the
normal service area covered by selected Authorised Service Centre.
b) Service costs arising from failure
to correctly adjust the controls of the product or to observe the instructions, or inspections that reveal that the product is in normal working order.
c) Product failures caused by
misuse, neglect, accidental breakage, transit damage, inexpert repairs or modification by un-authorised persons, external fires, lightning strikes, floods, vermin infestation or liquid spillage.
d) Cleaning of video or audio
heads.
e) Inadequate receiving antennae.
f) Replacement of worn or used
batteries or other consumables.
g) Consumer products used in
commercial applications (This warranty is limited to 3 months only)
h) Second hand products.
The conditions contained in this warranty card replace and override the provision of the Philips World-Wide Guarantee for

This section describes the basic connections required for this DVD Home Theater unit before it can be used.
Basic connections:

Mount the DVD Home Theater unit
Note
Refer to t he type plate at the rear or bottom of the
product for identifi cation and supply ratings.
Befor e you make or change any connections, ensure that all the devices are disconnected from the power outlet.
Place the unit
Place this unit on top of a table or mount it
• on the wall (see chapter ‘Mount the DVD Home Theater unit’.) Never place this unit in an enclosed cabinet.
• Install this unit near the AC outlet where
• the AC power plug can be easily reached.
1 Place this DVD Home Theater unit near to
the TV.
Place it at a height that is closest to the listening ear-level.
2 Position this DVD Home Theater so that it
is directly parallel to the listening area.

3 Place the subwoofer at the corner of the
room or at least one meter away from the TV.

Connect video cables
Before you connect
This section describes how to connect this DVD Home Theater unit to your TV so to enable viewing of disc play.
Select the best video connection that your TV can support.
Option 1: Connect to HDMI jack (for a
HDMI, DVI or HDCP-compliant TV.)
Option 2: Connect to component video
jack (for a standard TV or Progressive Scan TV.)
Option 3: Connect to video (CVBS) jack
(for a standard TV.)
Note
You must connect this unit directly to a T V.
1 Push up the catches at the bottom of the
rear cover and lift it up.
2 Connect the cables to the corresponding
jacks and direct the cables to the CABLE OUT point.

3 Once complete, close the rear cover.
Note
All the cables must be placed proper ly inside the rear
panel in order for the rear cover to close.
Option 1: Connect to HDMI jack

1 Connect a HDMI cable (supplied) from the
HDMI OUT on this unit to the HDMI IN
jack on your TV.
Note
The HD MI connector is only compatible with HDMI
compliant TVs and DVI-TVs.

This unit is HDMI CEC compatible. It enables connected T V/device to control each other over HDMI, see chapter ‘Activate EasyLink control’ for details.
Use a HDMI/DVI adaptor in case your TV has only a DVI connection. An extra audio connection is needed to complete this connection.
To route the audio from your T V to this DVD Home Theater unit, connect an audio cable from the audio input on this unit to the audio ou tput on your TV.
This t ype of connections provide best pic ture qualit y.
1 Connect the component video cables (not
supplied) from the Y P unit to the component video input jacks on your TV.
If a progressive scan TV is used, you
• may turn on the progressive scan mode (see chapter ‘Turn on Progressive Scan’ for details.)
Tips
The component video input jack on your T V may be
labeled as Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr or YUV.
This t ype of connections provide good picture quality.

(supplied) from the VIDEO OUT jack on this unit to the video input jack on your TV.

quality.

cable at TO MAIN UNIT.
2 Connect the white end of the interconnect
cable to the LOUDSPEAKERS jack on this unit.

cable to the TO SUBWOOFER jack on this unit.

Connect radio antenna

1 Stand the AM/MW loop antenna
(supplied) upright to fi x its claw into the slot.
2 Connect the AM/MW loop antenna to the
AM/MW jack. Then place the AM/MW
loop antenna on a shelf, or attach it to a stand or wall.
3 Connect the FM antenna (supplied) to the
FM75Ω jack on this unit (for some models,
this cable has been connected). Extend the FM antenna and fi x its ends to the wall.
4 Connect the power cord when all the
required connections are complete and you are ready to enjoy this DVD Home Theater unit.
Connect audio cables/other devices
This section describes how you can route the sound from other devices to this DVD Home Theater unit in order to enjoy sound output or audio play with multi-channel surround capabilities.
Connect audio from TV
(also used for EasyLink control)
1 Connect an audio cable (not supplied)
from the AUDIO IN-AUX1 jacks on this unit to the AUDIO OUT jacks on your TV.
Note
To listen to t he audio outpu t from this connection,
press AUX/DI /MP3 LINK repeatedly until ‘AUX1 INPUT’ is displayed on the display panel.

1 Connect an audio cable (not supplied)
from the AUDIO IN-AUX2 or AUX3 jacks on the subwoofer to the AUDIO OUT jacks on the device.
COAXIAL
DIGITAL IN
1 Connect a coaxial cable (not supplied)
from the DIGITAL IN-COAXIAL jack on the subwoofer to the COAXIAL/DIGITAL OUT jack on the device.
Note
To listen to t he audio outpu t from this connection,
press AUX/DI /MP3 LINK repeatedly until ‘DIGITAL INPUT’ is displayed on the display panel.
Connect portable media player
Note
To listen to t he audio outpu t from this connection,
press AUX/DI /MP3 LINK repeatedly until ‘AUX2 INPUT’ or ‘AUX3 INPUT’ is dis played on the display panel.

1 Connect a 3.5mm stereo audio cable (not
supplied) from the MP3 LINK jack on this unit to the phone jack on your portable media player (such as MP3 player.)
Note

Connect USB device
Mount the DVD Home Theater unit
Caution!
Risk of personal injury and damage to the unit.
Allow only qualifi ed persons to mount the unit .

on this unit.
Note
This DVD Home Theater unit can only play/view
MP3, WMA, DivX (Ultra) or JPEG fi les that are stored on such devices.

Connect iPod docking station
DOCK
1 Connect the iPod docking station to
DOCK jack on this unit.
Note
This DVD Home Theater unit only support audio
play from your iPod. To listen to t he audio outpu t from this connection,
press DOCK.
1 Ensure all the required cables are
connected to this unit and close the rear cover.
2 Attach the supplied knobs to the rear of
this unit.
3 Turn this unit over so that its bottom faces
up.
4 Hold this unit fi rmly while removing the
rubber feet by pushing it towards the back of this unit. Repeat the step to remove the other rubber feet.
