Fruit filter
With this filter you can make delicious fresh fruit juices, cocktails or soy milk. The filter prevents pips and skins from ending up in your drink.
Never overload the filter. Do not put more than 50g of unsoaked dried soy beans or 150g of fruit in the filter at the same time.
Do not let the appliance run more than 2 times without interruption. Let the appliance cool down at room temperature before you continue.
1 Mount the blender jar onto the motor
unit.
C
2 Put the filter in the blender jar.
Make sure that the grooves of the filter fit exactly onto the ribs inside the blender jar.
3 Close the lid.
4 Pour water or another liquid (milk, juice,
etc.) into the blender jar.
C
5 Put the ingredients in the filter. Do not fill
the filter beyond the top of the sieve mesh.
Cut fruits into smaller pieces and soak dried pulses, such as soy beans, before putting them in the filter.
C
6 Put the stopper in the blender lid.
7 Press the button to switch the
appliance on.
Let the appliance run for approx. 40 seconds.
8 Switch the appliance off and remove the
blender jar from the motor unit.
C
9 Pour the drink out via the pouring lip of
the blender jar.
10 For optimal results, put the jar with the
remaining ingredients back onto the appliance and let it run for a few more seconds.
Note: when you are processing a large quantity, we advise you not to put all the ingredients in the filter at the same time. Start processing a small quantity and let the appliance run for a few seconds. Then switch the appliance off and add another small quantity, but do not exceed the top of the sieve mesh. Repeat this procedure until you have processed all the ingredients.Always keep the lid on the blender jar during processing.
Tips
C
Pour liquid ingredients into the blender jar
through the hole in the lid.
The longer you let the appliance run, the finer
the blending result will be.
Pre-cut solid ingredients into smaller pieces
before putting them in the blender. If you
ENGLISH14
want to prepare a large quantity, process small batches of ingredients instead of trying to process a large quantity at once.
Hard ingredients e.g. soy beans for soy milk,
must be soaked in water before they are processed.
Crush ice cubes by putting the ice cubes in
the jar, closing the lid and using the pulse function.
If ingredients stick to the wall of the blender jar:
1 Switch the appliance off and unplug it.
2 Open the lid.
Never open the lid while the appliance is still running.
3 Use a spatula to remove the ingredients
from the wall of the jar.
Keep the spatula at a safe distance from the blades (approx. 2 cm).
If you are not satisfied with the result, let the
appliance run briefly a number of times by pressing the pulse button. You can also try to get a better result by stirring the ingredients with a spatula (not while the blender is running), or by pouring some of the contents out in order to process a smaller amount.
In some cases the ingredients are easier to
blend if you add some liquid, e.g. lemon juice when blending fruits.
Citrus press
The citrus press can be used for all kinds of citrus fruit.
C
1 Put the bowl on the motor unit and place
the sieve on the bowl.
C
2 Turn the sieve in the direction of the

citrus press, the kneading accessory and the adjustable slicing disc can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
These parts have been tested for dishwasher resistance based on DIN EN 12875.
The blender jar, the balloon beater and all parts of the meat mincer are not dishwasher-proof.
C
To remove the lid of the blender jar, open it
and then pull it upwards.
Only remove the lid of the blender jar for cleaning purposes.
Clean the blade, the blade unit of the blender, the discs and the slicing insert of the adjustable slicing disc very carefully. The cutting edges are very sharp!
Make sure that the cutting edges of the blades and the discs do not come into contact with hard objects. This could cause them to become blunt.
Certain ingredients may cause discolourations on the surface of the accessories. This does not have a negative effect on the accessories. The discolourations usually disappear after some time.
Quick-cleaning the blender

Guarantee & service
If you need information or if you have a problem, please visit the Philips Web site at www.philips.com or contact the Philips Customer Care Centre in your country (you will find its phone number in the worldwide guarantee leaflet). If there is no Customer Care Centre in your country, turn to your local Philips dealer or contact the Service Department of Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care BV.
Solution
Turn the bowl and the lid in the direction of the arrow until you hear a click. Make sure the dot on the bowl and the dot on the lid are directly opposite each other. Check whether the screw cap has been assembled properly. The groove on the screw cap must be opposite the groove on the motor unit and the two grooves together must form one long groove. If the blender is attached, remove it and attach the screw cap instead, for the food processor does not work when the blender is attached.
The automatic thermal cut-out has probably cut off the power supply to the appliance because it has overheated. 1) Unplug the appliance. 2) Let the appliance cool down for 60 minutes. 3) Put the mains plug in the socket. 4) Switch the appliance on again.
Press the button for the process you want.
This appliance is equipped with a memory function. If you restart the appliance within 40 seconds, the process will start where it was interrupted. If you want the process to start right from the beginning: 1) Briefly press another process (e.g. the pulse button) 2) Then press the stop button. 3) Press the appropriate process button to make the process start all over again.
Make sure you have assembled the kneading accessory properly onto the tool holder.
If both the blender jar and the food processing bowl have been mounted correctly, only the blender will function. If you want to use the food processing bowl, detach the blender jar and close the fixing hole with the screw cap.
Problem
The food processor does not work.
The appliance has suddenly stopped running.
You have pressed the wrong process button.
The process doesn't start at the beginning after a restart.
The kneading accessory doesn't turn.
Both the blender jar and the food processing bowl are attached, but only the blender works.
Troubleshooting guide
ENGLISH20
Solution
The appliance will fail to respond to the + button when the motor has already reached its maximum load, e.g. because you are processing large quantities of dough. This is normal and does not mean that the appliance is defective. Check the quantities mentioned in the tables in the instructions for use to prevent overloading the appliance. The appliance will not respond to the - button when the motor is already running at the lowest speed.
Check whether the cutting edges of the cutter unit are pointing outwards.
Make sure the gear housing and the cutter housing have been assembled correctly. You will hear a click when they have been fastened properly.
Unscrew the screw ring a little and then place the cutter unit and the grinding disc properly onto the worm shaft. Then screw the screw ring properly onto the cutter housing.
You used the medium grinding disc. Use the fine one. Mince the meat again to get a finer result.
The parts have been cleaned in the dishwasher. You should clean all parts by hand and dr y them immediately with a tea towel.
Problem
The + button or button does not work during certain jobs.
The meat looks as if it has been 'pressed through' rather than minced.
The meat mincer does not work.
The cutter unit cannot be placed properly in the cutter housing.
The result is too coarse.
The metal parts of the meat mincer look rusty.
