English
Important
• Always place the beaters or the kneading hooks in the mixer
before you connect it to the mains.
• Lower the beaters or the kneading hooks into the ingredients
before switching on.
• Never immerse or rinse the main unit in water. Do not rinse it
under the tap.
• If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips or a service centre authorised by Philips in order
to avoid hazardous situations.
Apply to your Philips dealer or to the Philips organisation in
your country.
- The sieve can be attached on the stand to sieve floury ingredients such
as wheat, flour, sugar, powdered cocoa.
- The sieve can be used only with the beaters.
- Do not use the sieve with the kneading hooks.
- Place the sieve on the stand - it will touch the octagonal ring of the beater. (fig. 11).
- When the mixer is switched on, the beater automatically shakes the
sieve and sieves the ingredients.
- Switch the mixer on (fig. 12).
- After use, first press the appliance downwards (1) and press the dislocking lever (2) (fig. 13).
- Then turn the main unit with holder backwards (fig. 14).
- Press the ejector knob to dislock the beaters or kneading hooks and to
remove them from the mains unit (fig. 15).
- Finally remove the bowl (fig. 16).
Which speed? Which accessory?
• Use the dough hooks for (yeast) dough, shortbread dough and minced
meat.
Select speed 2 or 3 when using the dough hooks.
For lengthy kneading always select speed 3.
• Use the beaters for mixing batters (for (thin) pancakes, wafers, biscuits,
cake, puff pastry, etc.), creams, toppings, instant pudding, egg white or
whole egg, mayonnaise, sauces and soups, for puréeing potatoes and
for whipping double cream.
Select speed 1 first and then if possible switch over to speed 2 or 3 to
prevent splashing.
For airy whipping (especially egg white) use
speed 3.
Use position M (“Moment”) for short operations which require some precision (e.g. when double cream is almost ready).
Using the sieve
- Place the main unit in the stand. Insert the beater with the octagonal ring
in the small opening. It may be necessary to turn the beater a little,
while doing so.
- With the bowl placed on the stand, the sieve can be assembled on the
stand. The assembling is right if the sieve touches the lateral of the
octagonal ring of the beater. (fig. 11).
- The sieve can be used to retain bigger particles and impurities from floury ingredients such as wheat flour, sugar and powdered cocoa. These
ingredients shall be added through the sieve assembled on the stand
and with the mixer switched on.
- When the mixer is on, the sieve is shaken by the octagonal ring and the
floury ingredients are sieved. This procedure results in a softer and
more homogenous batter.
- Do not use the sieve with the kneading hooks.
Cleaning
- After use, pour some (soapy) water into the bowl or beaker you have
been using.
Put the beaters or the kneading hooks into the water and let the mixer
run for a little while.
You may clean the beaters and the kneading hooks in hot soapy water.
They may also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
- Do not clean the sieve in a dishwasher.
- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. After that you may clean
the main unit with a damp cloth.
