Introduction

.

◗ With your new Satinelle Massage you can remove

unwanted hairs quickly and effectively in an extra­gentle way.

◗ The new active massaging system relaxes your skin

like a massage, thereby more effectively masking the
sensation of epilation. As a result, you will hardly
feel any pain.

◗ The rapidly rotating epilating discs catch even the

shortest hairs (even as short as half a millimetre!)
and quickly remove them by the root. As a result,
your skin stays smooth for up to four weeks and
regrowth is soft and downy.

Important

.

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the
appliance and save them for future reference.

◗ Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter

corresponds to the local mains voltage before you
connect the appliance.

◗ Only use the appliance in combination with the

adapter supplied.

◗ Do not use the appliance if the adapter or the

appliance itself is damaged.

◗ If the adapter is damaged, always have it replaced by

one of the original type in order to avoid a hazard.

◗ The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut off

the adapter to replace it with another plug, as this
will cause a hazardous situation.

◗ Keep the appliance and the adapter dry.
◗ Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
◗ To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running

appliance away from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes,
clothes, threads, cords, brushes etc.

◗ The appliance contains two NiMH rechargeable

batteries that may harm the environment if not
disposed of properly.

◗ Do not use the epilating head on irritated skin or

skin with varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with
hairs) or wounds without consulting your doctor
first. People with a reduced immune response, e.g.
during pregnancy, or people who suffer from
diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency
should also consult their doctor first.

Charging

.

The appliance can be run directly from the mains or it
can be used without the cord when the batteries have
been charged.
Charge the batteries at least 8 hours before using the
appliance to obtain up to 25 minutes of cordless epilating
time.

1 Make sure the appliance is switched off (fig. 1).

2 Insert the appliance plug into the inlet socket of the

appliance and put the adapter in the wall socket
(fig. 2).

The charging light goes on and stays on so long as the
appliance is charging.

Epilating from the mains

.

The appliance can also be used from the mains.

◗ When the batteries are completely empty, connect

the appliance to the mains. Wait a few minutes
before switching the appliance on.

Using the appliance

.

General information about epilation and body puff

◗ Epilating with the Satinelle Massage will leave your

skin smooth and hair-free for weeks. As epilation
may cause skin irritation or ingrown hairs in some
women, we advise you to read the text below.

◗ When you use the appliance for the first time, we

advise you to try it out on an area with only light
hair growth to get accustomed to the epilation
process.

◗ Epilation is easier just after taking a bath or shower.

Make sure your skin is completely dry when you
start epilating.

◗ We advise you to epilate before going to bed at

night, as this will allow any skin irritation that may
develop to diminish overnight.

◗ Your skin may become a little red and irritated the

first few times you use the epilator. This
phenomenon is absolutely normal and will quickly
disappear. As you use the appliance more often,
your skin will get used to epilation, skin irritation
will decrease and regrowth will become thinner and
softer. If the irritation has not disappeared within
three days, we advise you to consult a doctor.

◗ After epilation you can apply a mild cream or body

milk to soothe your skin and reduce skin irritation.

◗ Use the exfoliating body puff in the shower. Regular

massages with the puff may help to prevent
ingrowing hairs. Do not use the puff immediately
before or after epilation.

◗ This appliance has been extensively tested on the

underarms and the bikini line. Some women will
develop skin irritation when they epilate these areas
for the first time. We therefore advise you to try
out the appliance on a small patch of skin first.

◗ We advise you to use the precision cap (HP6462

only) or the shaving head (HP6463 only) for the
underarms and bikini line.

How to use the Satinelle Massage

◗ Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free

from grease. Do not use any cream before you start
epilating.

1 Switch the appliance on by pushing the on/off slide

to the desired speed setting:

- Select speed 1 for areas with little hair growth and for
areas where bones are located directly beneath the
skin, such as knees and ankles.

- Select speed 2 for larger areas with stronger hair
growth.

2 Place the epilating head perpendicularly onto the

skin so that the epilating head and massage element
are in proper contact with the skin and stretch the
skin with your free hand to make the hairs stand
upright (fig. 3).

Move the appliance slowly, with the massage element
pointing forwards, against the direction of hair growth.
Do not exert any pressure.

Epilating underarms and bikiniline (HP6462 only)

The precision cap reduces the number of epilating discs
that are active and stretches the skin during epilation. It is
particularly suitable when epilating the underarms and
bikini line. You will get the best results when the hairs are
not too long (max. 1 cm).

1 Make sure the appliance is switched off.

2 Place the precision cap onto the appliance. The

precision cap can only be fitted in one way (fig. 4).

3 Switch the appliance on. We advise you to use

speed 2.

4 Place the appliance perpendicularly onto your skin,

without exerting any pressure (fig. 5).

◗ Make sure both the epilating discs and the massage

element are in proper contact with the skin (fig. 6).

Move the appliance slowly over your skin against the
direction of hair growth.

Shaving (HP6463 only)

You can use the shaving head to shave delicate body
parts, such as your underarms and bikini line. With the
shaving head you will obtain a smooth result in a
comfortable and gentle way.

1 Make sure the appliance is switched off.

2 Slide the massage element off the appliance with

your thumbs (fig. 7).

3 Remove the epilating head. Grab the epilating head

by the ribbed sections and move it in the direction
of the arrow indicated on the epilating head (fig. 8).

4 Place the shaving head on the appliance and move it

against the direction of the arrow indicated on the
shaving head until it snaps home (the arrow on the
shaving head will be in line with the arrow on the
body of the appliance) (fig. 9).

The shaving head can only be fitted onto the appliance in
one way.

5 Switch the appliance on and select speed 1.

6 Place the shaving head perpendicularly onto your

skin and move the appliance slowly and smoothly
against the direction of hair growth while pressing it
lightly.

Replacing the shaving head (HP6463 only)

If you use the shaving head two or more times a week,
replace the shaving foil (HP6115) and the cutter block
(HP2911) after one or two years or if these parts are
damaged.

Cleaning and maintenance

.

Regular cleaning guarantees the best results and a long life
for your appliance.

Do not use any corrosive detergents, scouring pads or
cloths, petrol, acetone etc. to clean the appliance.

1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and

unplugged.

2 Slide the massage element off the appliance with

your thumbs (fig. 7).

3 HP6462 only: remove the precision cap (fig. 10).

4 Remove the epilating head. Grab the epilating head

by the ribbed sections and move it in the direction
of the arrow indicated on the epilating head (fig. 8).

5 Clean all accessible parts and the epilating discs with

the brush (fig. 11).

Never try to remove the epilating discs from the epilating
head.

6 Put the epilating head back onto the appliance. The

arrow on the epilating head must be in line with the
arrow on the body of the appliance.

The epilating head can only be fitted onto the appliance
in one way.

Shaving head (HP6463 only)

1 Remove the shaving foil.

2 Clean the hair chamber and the cutter block with

the brush. Do not exert pressure on the shaving foil
to avoid damaging it (fig. 12).

◗ Rub a drop of sewing machine oil onto the trimmers

and shaving foil of the shaving head twice a year.

Storage

.

You can store the Satinelle Massage and its accessories in
the pouch supplied.

Environment

.

The built-in rechargeable batteries contain substances
that may pollute the environment.
Remove the batteries when you discard the appliance.
Do not throw the batteries away with the normal
household waste, but hand them in at an official
collection point. You can also take the appliance to a
Philips service centre, which will remove the batteries for
you and will dispose of them in an environmentally safe
way.

1 Remove the adapter from the wall socket and let

the appliance run until the batteries are empty.

2 Remove the epilating head (fig. 8).

3 Slide the massage element off the appliance.

4 Remove the type plate located under the epilating

head and the side panels from the appliance by
means of a screwdriver (fig. 13).

5 Hold the appliance between your hands with your

thumbs on either side of the parting line at the top
of the appliance and pull the two housing halves
apart with your thumbs until the snap connections
break. Remove the holder with the components
(motor, printed circuit board and batteries) from
the housing halves (fig. 14).

6 Pull the two oval-shaped batteries out of the holder

and twist them to break the wires (fig. 15).

7 Lift the motor out of the holder with a screwdriver

(fig. 16).

Do not try to reassemble the appliance in order to run it
from the mains. It would be dangerous to do so.

Introduction

.

◗ Avec votre nouvel épilateur Satinelle Massage, vous

pouvez vous épiler rapidement et efficacement tout
en douceur.

◗ Le nouveau système actif de massage relaxe votre

peau comme au cours d'un massage, tout en
masquant la sensation d'épilation. La sensation de
douleur est ainsi pratiquement supprimée.

◗ Les disques rotatifs attrapent même les poils les plus

courts (un demi millimètre!) et les retirent à partir
de la racine. Votre peau sera douce et sans poils
pendant quatre semaines et le poil de repousse est
doux et fin.

◗ Avant de brancher l'appareil, vérifiez que la tension

indiquée sur l'adaptateur correspond à la tension de
votre secteur.

◗ Utilisez l'appareil uniquement avec l'adaptateur

fourni.

◗ N'utilisez pas l'appareil lorsque l'adaptateur ou

l'épilateur est endommagé.

◗ Si l'adaptateur est endommagé, pour plus de

sécurité et pour éviter tout accident, il ne doit être
remplacé que par un adaptateur d'origine.

◗ L'adaptateur a un transformateur. N'essayez pas de

remplacer l'adaptateur secteur par un autre pour
éviter tout accident.

◗ Assurez-vous que l'appareil et son adaptateur ne

sont pas en contact avec de l'eau.

◗ Tenez l'appareil hors de portée des enfants.
◗ Pour prévenir des dommages ou des blessures,

utilisez l'appareil à distance respectable des cheveux,
cils, sourcils, vêtements, fils, cordons, brosses etc.

◗ L'appareil contient des accumulateurs rechargeables

Nickel-Cadmium qui peuvent polluer
l'environnement s'ils ne sont pas déposés dans le
respect de l'environnement.

◗ N'utilisez pas l'appareil sur une peau irritée ou avec

des varices, tâches de vin (avec pilosités) ou autres
problèmes cutanés sans consulter votre médecin au
préalable. Les mêmes recommandations s'appliquent
aux personnes ayant des protections immunitaires
réduites, par exemple les femmes enceintes, les
diabétiques, les hémophiles ou les déficients
immunitaires.

Charge

.

L'appareil fonctionne branché directement à la prise de
courant ou sans fil lorsque les accumulateurs ont été
chargés.
Avant d'utiliser l'appareil, chargez les accumulateurs
pendant au moins 8 heures pour une autonomie de
fonctionnement de 25 minutes.

1 Assurez-vous que l'appareil est bien sur la position

arrêt (fig. 1).

2 Insérez la petite fiche dans l'appareil et l'adaptateur

dans la prise de courant (fig. 2).

Le témoin de charge s'allume et reste allumé lors de la
charge de l'appareil.

Utilisation de l'appareil sur secteur

.

L'appareil fonctionne également sur secteur.

◗ Lorsque les accumulateurs sont complètement

déchargés, branchez l'appareil sur la prise de
courant. Attendez quelques secondes avant de
mettre l'appareil en marche.

Mode d'emploi

.

Epilation en général et l'éponge fleur exfoliante

◗ L'épilation avec Satinelle Massage laisse votre peau

douce et sans poils pendant plusieurs semaines.
Etant donné que l'épilation peut chez certaines
femmes provoquer une légère irritation de la peau
ou des poils incarnés, nous vous recommandons de
lire attentivement les recommandations ci-dessous.

◗ Quand vous utilisez l'appareil pour la première fois,

nous vous conseillons de commencer par un endroit
avec peu de croissance de poils de manière à vous
habituer à l'épilation.

◗ Les poils sont plus faciles à épiler après un bain ou

une douche. Mais votre peau doit être
complètement sèche durant l'épilation.

◗ Il est conseillé de s'épiler le soir, afin de laisser les

irritations disparaître pendant la nuit.

◗ Pendant les premières utilisations l'épilateur peut

provoquer un rougissement ou une irritation de la
peau. Il s'agit d'une réaction normale qui disparaîtra
rapidement. La gêne ressentie au début diminuera
graduellement à chaque utilisation car la repousse a
tendance à être plus douce au toucher. Cependant,
si l'irritation persiste plus de trois jours, consultez
votre médecin.

◗ Après utilisation, vous pouvez appliquer une crème

hydratante ou un lait corporel qui aidera à calmer la
peau et à réduire l'irritation.

◗ Utilisez l'éponge fleur exfoliante au douche.

L'utilisation régulière de l'éponge de massage en
forme de fleur réduit les poils incarnés. N'utilisez
pas l'éponge immédiatement avant ou après
l'épilation.

◗ L'appareil a été testé d'une manière exhaustive pour

les aisselles et la ligne du maillot. Certaines femmes
peuvent subir une irritation de la peau quand elles
utilisent l'appareil pour la première fois dans ces
zones corporelles. Nous vous recommandons
d'essayer d'abord l'appareil sur une petite portion
de peau.

◗ Utilisez le capot de précision (HP6462 uniquement)

ou la tête de rasage (HP6463) pour les aisselles et la
ligne du maillot.

Utilisation

◗ Assurez-vous que votre peau est propre, sans

graisse ni crèmes. N'appliquez aucune crème avant
l'épilation.

1 Mettez en marche l'appareil à l'aide du bouton

marche/arrêt en sélectionnant la vitesse désirée:

- Sélectionnez la vitesse 1 pour les zones où les poils
sont plus fins et pour les zones osseuses comme les
genoux et les chevilles.

- Sélectionnez la vitesse 2 pour des surfaces plus
grandes et des poils plus épais.

2 Placez la tête d'épilation perpendiculairement sur la

peau, afin que la tête d'épilation et l'élément de
massage soient en contact avec la peau et étirez la
peau avec votre main libre pour redresser les poils
(fig. 3).

Déplacez l'appareil lentement, avec l'élément de massage
orienté vers l'avant, dans le sens inverse de la pousse des
poils. N'exercez pas de pression sur l'appareil.

Epilation des aisselles et de la ligne du maillot
(HP6462 uniquement)

Le capot de précision réduit le nombre de disques actifs
et tend la peau durant l'épilation. Il rend l'appareil idéal
pour l'épilation des aisselles et de la ligne du maillot. Pour
une épilation optimale les poils ne doivent pas être trop
longs (max. 1 cm.).

1 Assurez-vous que l'appareil est bien sur la position

arrêt.

2 Placez le capot de précision sur l'appareil. Le capot

de précision ne peut être fixé que dans une seule
position (fig. 4).

3 Mettez en marche l'appareil. Nous vous conseillons

d'utiliser la vitesse 2.

4 Placez l'appareil perpendiculairement sur la peau

sans exercer de pression (fig. 5).

◗ Assurez-vous que les disques rotatifs et l'élément de

massage touchent votre peau (fig. 6).

Déplacez l'appareil lentement sur la peau, dans le sens
inverse de la pousse des poils.

Rasage (HP6463 uniquement)

Vous pouvez utiliser la tête de rasage pour assurer un
rasage délicat des zones sensibles comme les aisselles et
le maillot. Avec la tête de rasage vous obtenez un résultat
rapide, confortable et efficace.

1 Assurez-vous que l'appareil est bien sur la position

arrêt.

2 Faites glisser l'élément de massage hors de l'appareil

(fig. 7).

3 Otez la tête d'épilation. Prenez la tête d'épilation

par les sections striées et déplacez-la dans la
direction de la flèche (fig. 8).

4 Fixez la tête de rasage sur l'appareil dans le sens

inverse de la flèche. Vous entendrez un clic (la
flèche sur la tête de rasage doit coincider avec celle
du corps de l'appareil) (fig. 9).

La tête de rasage peut être montée sur l'appareil dans
une seule direction.

5 Mettez en marche l'appareil en sélectionnant la

vitesse 1.

6 Placez la tête de rasage perpendiculairement sur la

peau et déplacez l'appareil lentement sur la peau
dans le sens inverse de la pousse des poils en
exerçant peu de pression.

Remplacer la tête de rasage (HP6463
uniquement)

Si vous utilisez la tête de rasage plusieurs fois par
semaine, remplacez la grille (HP6115) et l'ensemble
couteaux (HP2911) chaque année ou tous les deux ans
ou lorsqu'ils sont endommagés.

Nettoyage et entretien

.

Pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats et prolonger la durée
de fonctionnement de votre appareil, nettoyez-le
régulièrement.

N'utilisez pas de produits abrasifs, d'alcool, d'acétone,
d'essence etc. pour nettoyer l'appareil.

1 Assurez-vous que l'appareil est arrêté et débranché.

2 Faites glisser l'élément de massage hors de l'appareil

(fig. 7).

3 HP6462 uniquement: retirez le capot de précision

(fig. 10).

4 Retirez la tête d'épilation. Appuyez sur les sections

striées et faîtes glisser la tête d'épilation dans la
direction de la flèche (fig. 8).

5 Nettoyez toutes les parties accessibles et les

disques d'épilation avec une brosse (fig. 11).

N'essayez pas de retirer les disques de la tête d'épilation.

6 Remettez la tête d'épilation sur l'appareil. La flèche

sur la tête d'épilation doit coincider avec celle du
corps de l'appareil.

La tête d'épilation peut être montée sur l'appareil dans
une seule position.

Tête de rasage (HP6463 uniquement)

1 Retirez la grille de rasage.

2 Nettoyez le compartiment à poils et l'ensemble

couteaux avec une brosse. N'exercez pas de
pression sur la grille de rasage, pour éviter tout
dommage (fig. 12).

◗ Frottez les tondeuses et la grille avec une goutte

d'huile pour machine à coudre deux fois par an.

Rangement

.

Rangez Satinelle Massage et les accessoires dans l'étui
fourni.

Environnement

.

Les accumulateurs rechargeables incorporés contiennent
des substances qui peuvent polluer l'environnement.
Retirez les accumulateurs, quand vous vous débarrassez
de l'appareil en fin de vie. Ne jetez pas les accumulateurs
dans les ordures ménagères mais dans un endroit assigné
à cet effet. Vous pouvez également déposer votre
appareil dans un Centre Service Agréé Philips, qui s'en
chargera.

1 Retirez l'adaptateur de la prise de courant et laissez

le moteur fonctionner jusqu'à ce que les
accumulateurs soient complètement déchargés.

2 Otez la tête d'épilation (fig. 8).

3 Faites glisser l'élément de massage hors de l'appareil.

4 Otez la plaque signalétique qui se trouve au-dessous

de la tête d'épilation et les parties latérales de
l'appareil à l'aide d'un tournevis (fig. 13).

5 Séparez les deux moitiés et rompez les connexions

de l'appareil. Retirez le support avec les composants
(moteur, circuit imprimé et accumulateurs) du
corps de l'appareil (fig. 14).

6 Retirez les deux accumulateurs du support et

rompez les fils connecteurs (fig. 15).

7 Enlevez le moteur du support à l'aide d'un tournevis

(fig. 16).

Ne réassemblez pas l'appareil pour le brancher sur
le secteur après l'avoir ouvert. Il est dangereux.
