Introduction

◗ With your new Satinelle super sensitive you

can remove unwanted hairs quickly and
effectively in an extra-gentle way.

◗ The new double-active pain softener relaxes

your skin like a massage,thereby more
effectively masking the sensation of epilation.
As a result,you will hardly feel any pain.

◗ The rapidly rotating epilating discs catch even

the shortest hairs (even as short as half a
millimetre!) and quickly remove them by the
root.As a result, your skin stays smooth for
up to four weeks and regrowth is soft and
downy.

Important

◗ Check if the mains voltage indicated on the

adapter plug corresponds to your local mains
voltage before you connect the appliance.

◗ Make sure the appliance does not come into

contact with water.

◗ To prevent damage and injuries,keep the

running appliance away from your hair,
eyebrows,eyelashes,clothes,threads, cords,
brushes etc.

◗ Keep the appliance out of the reach of

(NiCd) batteries which may harm the
environment.

◗ Do not expose the appliance to temperatures

lower than 5 cC or higher than 35 cC.

or skin with varicose veins,rashes,spots,
moles (with hairs) or wounds without
consulting your doctor first.People with a
reduced immune response,e.g.during
pregnancy, or people who suffer from diabetes
mellitus,haemophilia or immunodeficiency
should also consult their doctor first.

◗ Your skin may become a little red and

irritated the first few times you use the
epilator.This phenomenon will soon disappear
as your skin becomes used to epilation and
the hairs become thinner and softer. If the
irritation does not disappear within three
days,we advise you to consult a doctor.

◗ Regular massages with a loofah may help to

prevent ingrowing hairs.Do not use the
loofah immediately before or after epilation.

◗ Only epilate the armpits and bikini line with

the precision cap (B) attached.

General information about epilation

◗ Epilating with the Satinelle super sensitive will

leave your skin smooth and hair-free for
weeks.As epilation may cause skin irritation
or ingrown hairs in some women,we advise
you to read the text below.

◗ When you use the appliance for the first time,

we advise you to try it out on an area with
only light hair growth to get accustomed to
the epilation process.

◗ This appliance has been extensively tested on

the armpits and the bikini line.Some women
will develop skin irritation when they epilate
these areas for the first time.We therefore
advise you to try out the appliance on a small
patch of skin first.

◗ After use you can apply a mild cream or body

milk to soothe your skin and reduce skin
irritation.

◗ Epilation is easier just after taking a shower or

a bath.Your skin must be completely dry,
however.

◗ We advise you to epilate before going to bed

at night.Any skin irritation that may occur will
diminish overnight.

Charging

◗ The appliance can be run directly from the

mains or it can be run cordless when the
batteries are charged.

◗ Charge the batteries for at least 16 hours

before first use and when the appliance has
not been used for at least six months.

1 Check whether the appliance is switched

off.

2 Put the adapter plug (K) in the wall socket.

3 Insert the appliance plug (I) into the inlet

socket of the appliance.

4 The pilot light (G) goes on and the

batteries are being charged.The pilot light
is on so long as the appliance is connected
to the mains.

◗ The batteries are fully charged after 16 hours.

Do not leave the appliance connected to the
mains for more than 24 hours at a time to extend
the life of the batteries.

◗ Fully charged batteries have a cordless

epilating time of about 25 minutes.

◗ Use the appliance in cordless mode until the

batteries are completely empty at least twice
a year.You can also let the appliance run
without using it.When the motor has
stopped,recharge the appliance for at least
16 hours.In this way you will make sure that
the batteries continue to perform well and
have a long life.

Epilating from the mains

◗ If you notice a drop in performance during

cordless use,insert the adapter plug (K) into
the mains socket and run the appliance from
the mains.

◗ Do not connect the appliance to the mains

when the batteries are fully charged.When
the batteries are completely empty, the
appliance will not work when you plug it in.

◗ Switch the appliance off and charge the

batteries for a few minutes.Then you can
switch the appliance on and run it from the
mains.

Using the appliance

◗ Make sure your skin is clean,entirely dry and

free from grease.Do not use any cream
before you start epilating.

1 Put the adapter plug (K) in the wall socket.

2 Insert the appliance plug (I) into the inlet

socket (H).

3 Remove the protective cover (A).

4 Switch the appliance on by sliding the

on/off switch (F) to the desired speed
setting:

Select speed I for areas with little hair growth and
for areas where bones are located directly
beneath the skin,such as knees and ankles.

5 Select speed II for larger areas with

stronger hair growth.

6 Stretch the skin with your free hand to

make the hairs stand upright.

7 Place the epilating head (D)

perpendicularly onto the skin so that the
epilating head (D) and the pain softener
(E) are in proper contact with the skin.

8 Move the appliance slowly,with the pain

softener (E) pointing forward,against the
direction of hair growth.Do not exert any
pressure.

9 Stretch your leg when you are epilating the

back of your knee.

10 Switch the appliance off by sliding the

on/off switch (F) to O.

Armpits and bikini line

The precision cap only fits onto the appliance in
one way.The precision cap reduces the number
of epilating discs that are active and stretches the
skin during epilating. It is particularly suitable when
epilating the armpits and bikini-line areas.You will
get the best results when the hairs are not too
long (max.1 cm long).

legs (E) off the appliance with your
thumbs.

3 Fit the pain softener for epilation of

armpits and bikini line (C) onto the
appliance.

4 Place the precision cap (B) onto the

5 Switch the appliance on by selecting the

6 Stretch the skin with your free hand.And

place the appliance perpendicularly onto
your skin,without exerting any pressure.
Make sure both the epilating discs (D) and
the pain softener (C) are in proper contact
with the skin.

7 Move the appliance slowly over your skin

against the direction of hair growth.

Cleaning

Do not use any corrosive detergents, scouring
pads or cloths,petrol, acetone etc. to clean the
appliance. Regular cleaning and maintenance
guarantee the best results and a long life for your
appliance.

1 Switch the appliance off and pull the

adapter plug (K) out of the wall socket.

2 Remove the precision cap (B).

3 Remove the epilating head (D). Press the

ribbed sections and slide the epilating head
(D) off the appliance in the direction of the
arrow.

4 Clean all accessible parts and the discs (D)

with the brush (L).

Never try to remove the epilating discs from the
epilating head (D).

5 Slide the epilating head (D) back onto the

appliance against the direction of the
arrow.

The epilating head (D) can only be fitted onto the
appliance in one way.

Storage

1 Put the protective cover (A) back onto the

appliance after use.

2 Put the appliance and its accessories in the

bag supplied with the appliance.

Environment

When you discard the appliance in due course,
remove the battery and dispose of it in an
environmentally safe way.

◗ NiCd batteries are marked with the f

symbol.

◗ All plastic parts are marked with recycle

symbols.

◗ You can also take the appliance to a Philips

service centre,where staff will be happy to
help you remove the battery and dispose of it
in an environmentally safe way.

1 Remove the adapter plug (K) from the wall

socket and let the appliance run until the
batteries are empty.

2 Remove the epilating head (D).

Press the ribbed sections and slide the epilating
head (D) off the appliance in the direction of the
arrow.

3 Slide the pain softener (E) off the

appliance.

4 Detach the type plate located under the

epilating head (D) from the appliance by
means of a screwdriver.

5 Hold the appliance between your hands

with your thumbs on each side of the
parting line at the top of the appliance.

6 Pull the two housing halves apart with

your thumbs until the snap connections
break.

7 Remove all the components (motor unit

and the battery-printed circuit board unit)
from the housing halves.

8 Take the battery-printed circuit board unit

in your hand with the printed circuit
pointing towards you.

9 Insert a screwdriver at right angles

between the printed circuit board and the
batteries.

10 Break the printed circuit board in two,

using the screwdriver as a lever.

11 Pry the batteries apart with the

screwdriver and remove the plastic
battery holder.

12 Separate the batteries from the broken

printed circuit board by twisting them.

13 Lift the motor out of the other plastic part

with a screwdriver.

Do not try to reassemble the appliance in order
to run it from the mains. It would be dangerous
to do so.

sensitive,vous pouvez vous épiler rapidement
et efficacement.

◗ Le double système anti-douleur relaxe votre

peau comme au cours d'un massage,et fait
oublier la sensation d'épilation.Toute
sensation de douleur est ainsi pratiquement
supprimée.

◗ Les disques rotatifs attrapent même les poils

les plus courts (un demi millimètre!) et les
retirent à partir de la racine.Votre peau sera
douce et sans poils pendant quatre semaines
et le poil repousse doux et fin.

◗ Avant de brancher l'appareil,vérifiez que la

tension indiquée sur l'adaptateur correspond
à la tension de votre secteur.

◗ Ne laissez pas l'appareil en contact avec de

l'eau.

◗ Pour prévenir des dommages ou des

◗ Un massage régulier de la peau avec une

éponge végétale (loofah) de massage peut
vous aider à éviter les poils incarnés.Ne
brossez pas la surface de la peau

Epilation en général

◗ L'épilation avec Satinelle super sensitive laisse

votre peau douce et sans poils pendant
plusieurs semaines.Etant donné que l'épilation
peut chez certaines femmes provoquer une
légère irritation de la peau,nous vous
recommandons de lire attentivement les
recommandations ci-dessous.

◗ Quand vous utilisez l'appareil pour la

première fois,nous vous conseillons de
commencer par un endroit avec peu de
croissance de poils de manière à vous
habituer à l'épilation.

◗ L'appareil a été testé d'une manière

exhaustive pour les aisselles et la ligne du
maillot.Quelques femmes peuvent subir une
irritation de la peau quand elles utilisent
l'appareil pour la première fois dans ces zones
corporelles.Nous vous recommandons
d'essayer d'abord l'appareil sur une petite
portion de peau.

◗ Après utilisation,vous pouvez appliquer une

crême hydratante ou un lait corporel qui
aidera à réduire l' irritation de la peau après
l'épilation.

◗ Les poils sont plus facile à épiler après un bain

ou une douche.Mais votre peau doit être
complètement sèche durant l'épilation.

◗ Il est conseillé de s'épiler le soir, afin de laisser

les rougeurs disparaître pendant la nuit.

◗ Votre appareil peut fonctionner branché

directement sur l'alimentation secteur ou sans
fil lorsque les accumulateurs sont chargés.

◗ Rechargez l'appareil pendant 16 heures au

accumulateurs se chargent.Le témoin
lumineux reste allumé aussi longtemps que

◗ Les accumulateurs sont complètement

chargés après 16 heures.

Afin de garantir la durée de vie la plus longue
possible des accumulateurs,ne les rechargez pas
pendant plus de 24 heures.

◗ Une fois les accumulateurs complètement

rechargés,ils ont une autonomie de
25 minutes environ.

◗ Au moins deux fois par an,laissez l'appareil

fonctionner sans cordon jusqu'à l'épuisement
des accumulateurs.Vous pouvez faire ceci
même lorsque l'appareil n'est pas en
utilisation.Lorsque l'appareil s'arrête,
rechargez-le pendant au moins 16 heures.
Ceci garantit une performance optimale et
une longue durée de vie des accumulateurs.

Utilisation de l'appareil sur secteur

◗ Si vous notez une chute de performance

durant l'utilisation sans cordon,insérez
l'adaptateur secteur (K) dans la prise murale
et utilisez votre appareil directement à partir
de l'alimentation secteur.

◗ L'appareil ne doit pas fonctionner branché sur

secteur quand les accumulateurs sont
complètement chargés.Si les accumulateurs
sont complètement déchargés,l'appareil ne
fonctionnera pas immédiatement après l'avoir
branché.

◗ Arrêtez l'appareil et laissez-le charger pendant

quelques minutes.Ensuite vous pouvez mettre
l'appareil en marche et l'utiliser branché sur
secteur.

Utilisation

◗ Assurez-vous que votre peau est propre,sans

graisse ni crèmes.N'appliquez aucune crème
avant l'épilation.

1 Mettez l'adaptateur secteur (K) dans la

4 Mettez en marche l'appareil à l'aide du

bouton marche/arrêt (F) en sélectionant la
vitesse désirée:

Sélectionnez la vitesse I pour les zones où les
poils sont plus fins et pour les zones osseuses
comme les genoux et les chevilles.

5 Sélectionnez la vitesse II pour des surfaces

plus grandes et des poils plus épais.

6 Etirez la peau avec votre main libre pour

redresser les poils.

7 Placez la tête d'épilation (D)

perpendiculairement sur la peau,afin que
la tête d'épilation (D) et le système anti­douleur (E) soient en contact avec la peau.

8 Déplacez l'appareil lentement,dans un seul

sens et dans le sens inverse de la pousse
des poils,(le système anti-douleur (E) doit
être toujours visible).N'exercez pas de
pression sur l'appareil.

9 Il faut allonger la jambe lorsque vous épiler

l'arrière de la jambe.

10 Placez le bouton marche/arrêt (F) en

position O.

Aisselles et ligne du maillot

L'adapteur de précision ne peut être fixé sur
l'appareil que dans une seule position.L'adapteur
de précision reduit le nombre de disques actifs et
tend la peau durant l'épilation. Il rend l'appareil
idéal pour les zones plus délicates du corps.Pour
une épilation optimale les poils ne doivent pas
être trop longs (max.1 cm.).

1 Arrêtez l'appareil.

2 Retirez le système anti-douleur pour

l'épilation des jambes (E) de l'appareil.

3 Fixez le système anti-douleur pour

l'épilation des aisselles et du maillot (C)
sur l'appareil.

4 Placez l'adapteur de précision (B).

L'adapteur de précision ne peut être fixé
que dans une seule position.

5 Mettez en marche l'appareil en

sélectionant la vitesse désirée.Nous vous
conseillons d'utiliser la vitesse II.

6 Assurez-vous que la peau est tendue et

placez le Satinelle perpendiculairement sur
la peau sans exercer de pression.Assurez­vous que les disques rotatifs (D) et le
système anti-douleur (C) touchent votre
peau.

7 Déplacez l'appareil lentement sur la peau,

dans le sens inverse de la pousse des poils.

Nettoyage

N'utilisez pas de substances corrosives,d'éponge
à récurer, essence, acétone, etc. pour nettoyer
l'appareil.le nettoyage et l'entretien régulier
garantissent les meilleurs résultats et une durée
de vie prolongée.

N'essayez jamais de retirer les disques d'épilation
de l'appareil.

5 Remettez la tête d'épilation (D) sur

de la flèche.

La tête d'épilation (D) peut être montée sur
l'appareil dans une seule position.

1 Remettez le capot de protection (A) sur

l'appareil après utilisation.

2 Conservez l'appareil et les accessoires

dans l'étui fourni.

Environnement

Lorsque vous vous séparerez de votre appareil en
fin de vie,retirez les accumulateurs et déposez-les
dans un endroit assigné à cet effet.

◗ Les accumulateurs NiCd sont marqués du

symbole f.

◗ En vue de recyclage,tous les composants en

plastique ont des marques d'indentification.
