Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.

Danger

-Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or any other liquid.

Warning

-Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

-Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord, the base or the appliance itself is damaged.

-If the mains cord is damaged,you must have it replaced by Philips,a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

-This appliance is not intended for use by persons

(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

-Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

-Keep the mains cord out of the reach of children. Do not let the mains cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop on which the appliance stands.

Excess cord can be stored in or around the base of the appliance.

-Keep the mains cord, the base and the kettle away from hot surfaces.

-Do not place the appliance on an enclosed surface

(e.g. a serving tray), as this could cause water to accumulate under the appliance, resulting in a hazardous situation.

-Hot water can cause serious burns. Be careful when the kettle contains hot water.

-Do not touch the body of the kettle during and some time after use, as it gets very hot.Always lift the kettle by its handle.

-Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication. If the kettle has been overfilled, boiling water may be ejected from the spout and cause scalding.

-Do not open the lid while the water is heating up or boiling. Be careful when you open the lid immediately after the water has boiled: the steam that comes out of the kettle is very hot.

-This rapid-boil kettle can draw up to 10 amps from the power supply in your home. Make sure that the electrical system in your home and the circuit to which the kettle is connected can cope with this level of power consumption. Do not let too many other appliances draw power from the same circuit while the kettle is being used.

-Only use the kettle in combination with its original base.

Caution

-Do not connect the appliance to an external switching device such as a timer and do not connect it to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.This prevents a hazard that could be caused by inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out.

-Always place the base and the kettle on a dry, flat and stable surface.

-The kettle is only intended for boiling water. Do not use it to heat up soup or other liquids or jarred, bottled or tinned food.

-Never fill the kettle below the 1-cup level to prevent it from boiling dry.

-Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, small spots may appear on the heating element of your kettle when you use it.This phenomenon is the result of scale build-up on the heating element and on the inside of the kettle over time.The harder the water, the faster scale builds up. Scale can occur in different colours.Although scale is harmless, too much scale can influence the performance of your kettle. Descale your kettle regularly by following the instructions given in chapter ‘Descaling’.

-Some condensation may appear on the base of the kettle.This is perfectly normal and does not mean that the kettle has any defects.

-Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane. Do not operate the kettle unless the element is fully immersed. Do not move while the kettle is switched on.

-To prevent damage to the appliance do not use alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild detergent.

-This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

-staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;

-farm houses;

-by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;

-bed and breakfast type environments.

Boil-dry protection

This kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection.This device automatically switches off the kettle if it is accidentally switched on when there is no water or not enough water in it. Lift the kettle from its base and fill it with water to reset boil-dry protection.The kettle is now ready for use again.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF)

This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.

Before first use

1Remove stickers, if any, from the base or the kettle.

2Place the base on a dry,flat and stable surface.

3To adjust the length of the cord,wind part of it round the reel in the base.Pass the cord through one of the slots in the base. (Fig.2)

4Rinse the kettle with water.

5Fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level and let the water boil once (see chapter‘Using the appliance’).

6Pour out the hot water and rinse the kettle once more.

Using the appliance

1Fill the kettle with water.You can fill the kettle either through the spout or through the open lid. (Fig.3)

- To open the lid, pull at the lid latch (Fig. 4).

-Fill the kettle with at least one cup (250ml) water.

-Close the lid before you switch on the kettle.

Make sure that the lid is properly closed to prevent the kettle from boiling dry.

2Place the kettle on its base and put the plug in the wall socket.

3Push the on/off switch downwards to switch on the appliance (Fig.5).

,The power-on light goes on.

,The kettle starts heating up.

,The kettle switches off automatically (‘click’) when the water boils.

,The power-on light goes out automatically when the kettle switches off.

Note:You can interrupt the boiling process at any time by pushing the on/off switch upwards.

Cleaning

Never use scouring pads,abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.

Never immerse the kettle or its base in water.

1Unplug the appliance.

2Clean the outside of the kettle with a soft cloth moistened with warm water and some mild cleaning agent.

3Clean the scale filter regularly.

Scale is not harmful to your health but it may give your drink a powdery taste.The scale filter prevents scale particles from ending up in your drink. Clean the scale filter in one of the following ways:

-Take the scale filter out of the kettle and gently clean it with a soft nylon brush under a running tap. (Fig. 6)

-Leave the scale filter in the kettle when you descale the whole appliance.

-Clean the scale filter in the dishwasher.

Descaling

Regular descaling prolongs the life of the kettle.

In case of normal use (up to 5 times a day), we recommend the following descaling frequency:

-Once every 3 months for soft water areas (up to 18dH).

-Once every month for hard water areas (more than 18dH).

1Fill the kettle with approx.400ml water.

2Switch on the kettle.

3After the kettle switches off,add white vinegar (8% acetic acid) to the MAX indication.

4Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.

5Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly.

6Fill the kettle with fresh water and boil the water.

7Empty the kettle and rinse it with fresh water again.

Repeat the procedure if there is still some scale in the kettle.

Tip:You can also use an appropriate descaler. In that case, follow the instructions on the package of the descaler.

Storage

1To store the mains cord,wind it round the reel in the base (Fig.2).

Replacement

If the kettle,the base or the mains cord of the appliance is damaged,take the base or the kettle to a service centre authorised by Philips for repair or replacement of the cord to avoid a hazard.

You can purchase a new filter (order number 4222 459 45326) at your Philips dealer or at a Philips service centre.

Environment

-Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 7).

Tähelepanu

Enne seadme kasutamist lugege hoolikalt kasutusjuhendit ja hoidke see edaspidiseks alles.

Oht

-Ärge kastke seadet ega alust vette vm vedeliku sisse.

Hoiatus:

-enne seadme ühendamist kontrollige, kas seadmele märgitud toitepinge vastab kohaliku elektrivõrgu pingele.

-Ärge kasutage seadet, kui selle toitejuhe, pistik, alus või seade ise on kahjustatud.

-Kui toitejuhe on kahjustatud, peab selle ohtlike olukordade vältimiseks uue vastu vahetama Philips,

Philipsi volitatud hoolduskeskus või samaväärset kvalifikatsiooni omav isik.

-Seda seadet ei tohi kasutada füüsiliste ja vaimsete puuetega isikud (lisaks lapsed) nii kogemuste kui ka teadmiste puudumise tõttu, välja arvatud nende

-Ärge kunagi täitke kannu üle lubatud maksimaalse taseme tähise! Kui kann on üleliia täis, võib vesi keemise ajal tila kaudu välja pritsida ja põletusi tekitada.

-Ärge avage vee soojenemise või keetmise ajal veekeetja kaant. Olge ettevaatlik, kui avate kaane kohe pärast vee keema minemist: keetjast väljuv aur on väga tuline.

-See kiirkeedukann kasutab kuni 10-amprilist voolu.

Veenduge, et teie kodus olev elektrisüsteem ja vooluvõrk, millesse kann lülitatud on, tuleb toime sellise voolutarbimisega. Ärge pange samaaegselt vooluringi, kuhu kann on lülitatud, mitut teist seadet.

-Kasutage veekeetjat ainult koos originaalalusega.

Ettevaatust

-Ärge ühendage seda seadet välise lülitusseadmega, nt taimeriga ega vooluahelaga, mida elektrivõrk korrapäraselt sisse-välja lülitab. See hoiab ära ohtliku olukorra, mis võib tekkida termokatkesti ettekavatsematu lähtestamise tagajärjel.

-Paigaldage veekeetja alati kuivale, siledale ja kindlale pinnale.

-Veekeetja tühjalt kuumenemise vältimiseks ärge täitke seda alla 1-tassi taseme.

-Sõltuvalt vee karedusest teie elukohas, võivad elektrikannu soojuselemendile ilmuda väikesed täpid. See tuleb kannu sisemusse ja soojuselemendile aja jooksul kogunevast katlakivist. Mida karedam on vesi, seda kiiremini katlakivi koguneb. Katlakivi on erinevat värvi. Ehkki katlakivi on kahjutu, võib liigne katlakivi kogunemine mõjutada kannu jõudlust. Eemaldage katlakivi kannust korrapäraselt, järgides juhendi pt

„Katlakivi eemaldamine”.

-Veekeetja alusele võib tekkida kondensatsioon.

See on täiesti normaalne nähtus ja ei tähenda, et veekeetjal oleksid mingid defektid.

-Ärge kasutage seadet kaldus pinnal. Ärge kasutage seadet, kui küttekeha pole täielikult vette kastetud. Ärge liigutage seadet, kui see on sisse lülitatud.

-Vältimaks seadme kahjustamist, ärge kasutage puhastamiseks leeliseliseid puhastusvahendeid; kasutage pehmet lappi ja õrnatoimelist puhastusainet.

-See seade on mõeldud kasutamiseks koduses majapidamises ja sarnastes tingimustes nagu:

-poodide, kontorite ja muude töökeskkondade personali kööginurkades;

-talumajapidamistes;

-klientidele hotellides, motellides ja puhkemajutuses;

-kodumajutuse tüüpi asutustes.

Kuivaltkeemise kaitse

Veekeetja on varustatud tühjaltkuumenemise kaitsega.

See kaitse lülitab veekeetja automaatselt välja, kui sisse lülitamisel pole selles üldse või piisavalt palju vett. Tühjaltkuumenemise kaitse lähtestamiseks tõstke kann aluselt ja täitke veega. Nüüd on veekeetja uuesti kasutusvalmis.

Elektromagnetväljad (EMV)

See Philipsi seade vastab kõikidele elektromagnetilisi välju

(EMF) käsitlevatele standarditele. Kui seadet käsitsetakse õigesti ja käesolevale kasutusjuhendile vastavalt, on seadet tänapäeval käibelolevate teaduslike teooriate järgi ohutu kasutada.

Enne esmakasutamist

1Eemaldage aluselt või kannult kõik kleebised.

2Pange alus kuivale,tasasele ja kindlale pinnale.

3Juhtme pikkuse reguleerimiseks kerige liigne juhtmeosa ümber aluses oleva rulli.Asetage juhe ühest aluse pilust läbi. (Jn 2)

4Loputage veekeetjat veega;

5Täitke veekeetja maksimaalse tasemeni veega ja laske veel korraks keema minna (vt ptk „Seadme kasutamine”).

6Valage tuline vesi välja ja loputage veekeetjat veelkord.

Seadme kasutamine

1Täitke kann veega.Kannu saate täita kas tila kaudu või läbi avatud kaane. (Jn 3)

-Kaane avamiseks tõmmake kaant sulgurist (Jn 4).

-Kallake veekeetjasse vähemalt üks tass (250 ml) vett.

-Enne kannu sisse lülitamist sulgege kaas.

Et vältida veekeetja kuivakskeemist, kontrollige, kas kaas on hoolikalt suletud.

2Pange kann alusele tagasi ja sisestage pistik seinakontakti.

3Kannu sisselülitamiseks lükake sisse-välja lüliti allapoole (Jn 5).

,Toite märgutuli süttib põlema.

,Kann hakkab vett soojendama.

,Seade lülitub automaatselt välja (klõpsuga),kui vesi keeb.

,Pärast veekeetja väljalülitamist kustub „Toide sees“ märgutuli automaatselt.

Märkus: te saate keemisprotsessi alati katkestada, kui vajutate sisse/välja lüliti ülespoole.

Puhastamine

ärge kunagi kasutage seadme puhastamiseks küürimiskäsnu,abrasiivseid puhastusvahendeid ega ka sööbivaid vedelikke nagu bensiini või atsetooni.

Ärge kunagi kastke veekeetjat ega selle alust vette.

1Eemaldage pistik pistikupesast.

2Veekeetja välispinda puhastage pehme lapiga,mida on niisutatud pehme pesemisvahendiga soojas vees.

3Puhastage katlakivifiltrit korrapäraselt.

Katlakivi ei ole tervisele kahjulik, kuid ta võib joogile anda puudri maitse. Katlakivi filter väldib katlakivi osakeste sattumist jooki. Puhastage katlakivifiltrit ühel järgmistest viisidest:

-võtke filter keetjast välja ja harjake seda õrnalt pehme nailonharjaga kraani all; (Jn 6)

-jätke katlakivifilter kogu seadme katlakivi eemaldamise ajaks keetjasse;

-peske katlakivifilter nõudepesumasinas puhtaks.

Katlakivi eemaldamine

Korrapärane katlakivi eemaldamine pikendab kannu tööiga.

Tavalise kasutamise korral (kuni viis korda päevas) soovitatakse katlakivi eemaldada järgmise sagedusega:

-Kord iga 3 kuu tagant pehme veega piirkondades (kuni 18 dH);

-Kord iga kuu tagant kareda veega piirkondades (üle 18 dH).

1Laske keetjasse umbes 400 ml vett.

2Lülitage veekeetja sisse.

3Pärast veekeetja väljalülitumist kallake veekeetjasse MAX-märgiseni valget äädikat (8% äädikhapet).

4Jätke äädikalahus ööseks veekeetjasse.

5Kallake veekeetja tühjaks ja loputage sisemust korralikult.

6Täitke kann värske veega ja ajage vesi keema.

7Kallake kann tühjaks ja loputage kannu sisemust veel kord värske veega.

Kui veekeetjasse on jäänud katlakivi jäänuseid, siis korrake toimingut.

Näpunäide:Võite kasutada ka vastavat katlakivieemaldusvahendit. Järgige katlakivieemaldaja pakendil olevat kasutusjuhendit.

Hoiustamine

1Toitejuhtme hoiustamiseks keerake see ümber aluses oleva rulli (Jn 2).

Asendamine

Kui veekeetja,alus või toitejuhe on kahjustatud,viige ohtlike olukordade vältimiseks alus või veekeetja parandamiseks või toitejuhtme vahetamiseks Philipsi volitatud hoolduskeskusse.

Uue filtri saate tellida (tellimiskood 4222 459 45326)

Philipsi müügiesindajalt või Philipsi hoolduskeskusest.

Keskkond

-Tööea lõpus ei tohi seadet tavalise olmeprügi hulka visata. Seade tuleb ümbertöötlemiseks ametlikku kogumispunkti viia. Seda tehes aitate keskkonda säästa (Jn 7).
