Read all instructions before using.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or any non-removable parts of this Toaster Oven in water or other liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children or invalids.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts or before cleaning appliance.
5. Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner; return the Toaster Oven to the retail location where it was purchased for examination, repair, or adjustment.
6. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use accessory attachments not recommended by Philips Electronics North America Corporation as they may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
7. Always use the appliance on a dry, level surface. Do not use outdoors.
8. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Let the Toaster Oven cool completely before moving it on or off the counter, before cleaning or before putting away.
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

10. Oversized foods, airtight foil packages, cardboard containers, plastic wrapped food or utensils must not be inserted in this appliance, as they may create a risk of fire or electrical shock.
11. Extreme caution must be used when using containers constructed of other than metal and glass.
12. A fire may occur if Toaster Oven is covered by or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Keep this appliance at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) away from wall or rear of the counter. Do not put or store any item on top of or against any surface of unit. Do not store any materials other than manufacturer’s recommended accessories in the appliance when not in use. Never use appliance on a non-heat resistant surface.
13. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off pad and touch electrical parts, resulting in a risk of electrical shock.
14. This appliance is intended for household use ONLY; it is not for commercial or industrial use.
15. Any service of the Toaster Oven should be performed by the retail location where it was purchased.
16. Do not operate while unattended. Unplug after each use.
17. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other liquids. Use extreme caution when removing tray or disposing of hot grease.
18. To disconnect appliance, turn TIMER to "0" position, then remove plug from electrical outlet by gripping plug body and pulling it from the outlet. Never yank or twist cord to unplug.

19. In the event of food flare up, keep the door closed and unplug cord from electrical outlet.
20. Caution:Vent area is hot during operation.
21. Do not allow grease to build up inside this appliance creating a potential fire hazard.
22. To avoid a fire hazard, do not store or place flammable materials (including packaged bread, paper towels, etc.) on top of or inside the Toaster Oven at any time.
23. Do not place any of the following materials in the Toaster Oven: paper, cardboard or plastic. Remove cardboard lids from food containers.
24. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
25. Do not cover crumb tray or any part of the Toaster Oven with metal foil.This will cause overheating of the oven.
26. When using aluminum foil, keep foil from touching heating elements.
27. Any container placed in this appliance must not be sealed and must have enough capacity to let liquids expand.
28. Do not use spray-on or other oven cleaners as they may cause electrical damage.
29. Do not use sharp utensils to clean oven door as scratching may weaken it and cause shattering.
30. To stop toasting, cooking or baking, or to take food out of the Toaster Oven, always turn timer knob to "0" position.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The Toaster Oven has a short cord to reduce the hazards of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if the rating is equal to or greater than the rating of the Toaster Oven. Use an extension cord rated 13 amperes or greater. Care must be taken to arrange extension cord so that it will not drape over countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
Operating the Toaster Oven and another appliance at the same time from the same electrical circuit could cause an electrical overload condition, which would blow the fuse or trip the circuit breaker.
SPECIAL POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
The Philips Toaster Oven has a polarized plug for an added safety feature (one blade is wider than the other).To
reduce the risk of electric shock:
• Plug will fit into polarized outlet only one way.
• If plug does not properly fit outlet at first, reverse it.
• If plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

OPreheating the Oven
1 Turn the TIMER CONTROL to 15 minutes and then back to 2
minutes to preheat the oven. Preheat is recommended when baking heat-sensitive recipes such as pastries, biscuits, muffins, etc. Food such as baked potatoes, meats, covered casseroles, and some convenience foods do not require a preheated oven.
NOTE:When using heat resistant glass bakeware, keep edges at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) from heating elements. Do not use glass covers.To avoid over-browning, carefully cover container with aluminum foil. Be sure foil does not touch heating elements.

To Use Baking Function
Cooking times for the Philips Toaster Oven are similar to a conventional oven. You may need to vary these slightly to obtain the desired results. Size permitting, you may use your Philips Toaster Oven for baking those foods you would previously have used your larger oven.
1 Plug Toaster Oven into 120V AC outlet.
2 Place the Baking Tray in the Toaster Oven.

3 Turn the TIMER to the desired time. For best results, allow the
oven to preheat for 2-3 minutes before using.The timer can be set for up to 15 minutes. At end of cooking time, a bell signals and oven turns off automatically.
4 When baking, both the top and bottom heating elements will
come on.
5 Cook for the desired time.
6 Remove food carefully.
NOTE:Cover top of food with aluminum foil if browning too rapidly. Be sure foil does not touch heating elements.
• During cooking, the heating elements will go on and off to regulate the temperature inside the oven.
IMPORTANT
• Replace any plastic wrapping or cardboard coverings on frozen or packaged foods with aluminum foil.
• Be sure aluminum foil is well clear of heating elements by tucking ends under baking or casserole dish.
• Do not heat airtight containers in the oven.
• Do not heat any type of paper or cardboard containers, regardless of aluminum foil content or covering.
• Never use containers larger than those recommended or containers with warnings against use in range-type or toaster ovens.
• If there is any question regarding use of a particular packaged food container in a toaster oven, contact the food manufacturer.

Cooking Guide
To Use Toaster Function
Various types of breads require different settings. Generally, raisin bread or bread which is several days old will usually require a lighter setting. Close textured bread, such as whole wheat or rye may require a darker setting.Toast waffles on a lighter setting, muffins on a darker setting. English muffins should normally be toasted on the darkest setting.
1 Place food on Oven Rack and close oven door.
2 Turn the TIMER KNOB to the desired cooking time.
3 At the end of the cooking time, you will hear a bell and the
Toaster Oven will automatically shut itself off.
4 Whenever you want to take food out of the oven or stop
cooking before the end of the preset cooking time, turn the TIMER knob to position "0".

Your Philips Toaster Oven has an easy-clean non-stick interior for fast and easy clean up.
1 Unplug cord from electrical outlet. Let the oven cool down
completely before cleaning.
2 Clean outside surfaces with a damp, sudsy cloth. Remove
stubborn spots using a cleanser for polished surfaces. To avoid scratching non-stick interior surfaces, do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads.
3 Wipe away spills and splatters from inside surfaces after each
use to prevent build-up of stubborn spots. Use a damp, sudsy cloth only. DO NOT use spray-on or other oven cleaners; their use may cause electrical damage.
4 After cleaning, dry inside surfaces thoroughly.
5 Clean removable crumb tray often;wipe away crumbs and
food spills.With the oven door open, simply lift and pull the crumb tray out. Ensure that oven is cool before doing this. Always dry and replace the crumb tray immediately after cleaning.
6 Pull forward and remove the removable oven rack; wash
in soapy water.
7 To clean the oven glass door, use a nylon pad and sudsy water.
Do not use a spray glass cleaner or abrasive cleansers that will scratch glass.
