HDTV Monitor
HDTV is the latest and best television signal
available. It produces picture quality more than
twice that of traditional analog broadcasts. In order
to effectively maximize the HDTV signal, a
television must incorporate advanced signal input
connectivity
Progressive Scan
Progressive Scan doubles the vertical resolution of
the image resulting in a noticeably sharper picture.
Instead of sending a field comprising the odd lines
to the screen first, followed by the field with the even
lines, both fields are written at one time. A full image
is created instantaneously, using the maximum
resolution. At such a speed, your eye perceives a
sharper picture with no line structure.
Virtual Dolby Surround
Virtual Dolby Surround is a processing technology
for enhancing surround sound effects. It will create
the sensation of Dolby Pro Logic without the
necessity of additional rear speakers. You become
totally immersed in your television experience.
Philips Compass UI
Philips Compass UI is an intuitive and easy-to-use
GUI (graphical user interface). It is based on a
four-way navigational focus point (puck) that at any
time indicates to you where you are in the menu
structure and which directions you can navigate
from there.
Smart Picture and Smart Sound
Philips preset modes for Smart Picture and Smart
Sound provide you with direct access via a single
key on the remote control. You can select optimized
picture and sound settings for the various picture
and sound modes.

Component Video (YPbPr)
Component video is a technique for recording and
transmitting of video in which each color is
maintained in a separate channel. RGB is an
example of component video using one channel
each for red (R), green (G) and blue (B). It is the
way to connect a DVD player for optimum picture
quality.
