SERVICE PANEL INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTION
The Service Panel may be used to make updates to an installed IntelliTouch system at the control
pad without the need to access the indoor control panel.
To perform this service properly these instructions must be followed exactly. Be sure to read
and understand all instructions before performing any work on the job-site. Not following these
instructions can lead to incorrect system configuration, wasted time and effort due to multiple
job-site visits, confusing operation by the customer.
EQUIPMENT
The service panel consists of a specialized indoor control panel. Emerging from the back of the
unit is a four conductor cable pre-wired for attachment to the IntelliTouch system.
This unit is NOT weather protected. Do NOT put unit in water or allow it to get wet.
Do NOT leave unit in direct sunlight. If screen goes dark, do NOT attempt to adjust the contrast.
Allow screen to cool until contrast returns to normal.
Be sure interface cable is plugged in with correct orientation. Wires should NOT be hanging off
the edge of the PCB. They should be oriented to pass over the PCB.
Take care not to damage the connector leads. Do NOT disconnect or change the order of any
conductors of the interface cable.
The unit will receive power from the system when it is plugged in.

DO NOT PLUG IN OR UNPLUG ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS WITH THE POWER
ON. THIS MAY DAMAGE THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS MAKING THEM
UNUSABLE FOR THE HOMEOWNER.
Step 1: Access Load Center
Open the main load center door at the equipment pad. Be sure the system is set to AUTO
mode. Fold down the Outdoor Control Panel (OCP).
Do NOT plug in the Service Panel yet.
Turn off power to the system.
Locate an unused COM port on the personality board, if available. If none are available, any
COM port plug may be removed with the power off without detaching any wiring.
Step 2: Plug in the Service Panel
Plug in the Service Panel to one of the COM ports of the OCP.
CAUTION: Be sure the orientation of the interface cable is correct or the Service Panel may
be damaged!
Step 3: Power Up System
Turn the system power on. Wait for all lights on the OCP to stop blinking and to settle on
AUTO mode. If any other mode comes on, simply set it back to AUTO.
The Service Panel should now be receiving power and automatically updating itself to match
the system settings. Wait until the service panel screen has stopped flashing update
messages.
Step 4: Verification, Disconnecting and Updating
Change the system as necessary using the Service Panel following the owner’s manual
directions. When you are satisfied everything is working as desired, WAIT FOR TWO
MINUTES. This gives the system time to update the new settings. AFTER TWO
MINUTES, power down the system. Disconnect the service panel and reconnect any
detached COM port connection. Turn the system power back on.
PLEASE NOTE:
If the controllers have had no settings on them, they may not reflect the new system settings
right away. If left alone, they will update overnight. Otherwise, they will appear as if
nothing happened until any button is pushed at which time the controller will update with the
new system settings automatically. The homeowner should be instructed as to what to
expect.
