CH. 1 - FEATURES

SCM 4 Plus® pumps can be supplied with or without electric motor. This booklet supplies all the information

concerning the use and maintenance of these machines.
SCM 4 Plus® pumps are submersed. The multi-stage pumping unit is directly coupled to the submersed electric
motor.

CH. 2 - TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

Each machine is carefully tested and packed during the assembly phase. On receiving the pump, customers will have
to verify: that the product complies with the data quoted in the order; that is has not suffered damages during
transportation. All damages should be immediately reported to the distributor within 8 (eight) days from the date of
purchase. Don't disperse and/or throw the packaging away and take all possible measures to re-use it and recycle
it. Before transporting the unit, check the following data:

- weight of the pump (or the pump end)

- overall dimensions

- lifting points

The pump (or the pump end) has to be transported with equipment suitable to its weight and dimensions. Only pumps
(or units) with a weight below 20 Kg can be transported manually.
The units have to be stored in closed, dry and ventilated areas avoiding excessively low temperatures. If the units
have to be stored for long periods of time (above 12 months) or in presence of low temperatures, it is necessary to
rotate the shafts and the hydraulic unit at least once a month. Protect the terminals of the cables from humidity,
making sure that these are not bent with curves above 6 times their diameter. If the single components are stored
individually, protect the rubber parts and the thrust bearings from direct sun light.

CH. 4 - MOTOR ASSEMBLY (see fig. 1)

SCM 4 PLUS® pumps are designed to be coupled with 4" motors.
Perform the following operations to guarantee a correct coupling:

- remove the raceway that protects the cable and the sand-protection filter

- manually check the rotation of the motor shaft and the hydraulic unit

- verify that the coupling and the coupling axis are clean

- join the pump body and the motor, verifying that the electric cable is correctly positioned next to grooves on the
hydraulic unit supports

- tighten the nuts on the 4 motor tie rods, alternatively on the diagonals

- position the electric cable along the pump and reassemble the protection raceway by tightening the screws to the
hydraulic unit

- fix the sand protection filter to the lower support of the hydraulic unit body by using the screws provided for this
purpose

When installing, please ensure unit is
disconnected from electrical supply.

CH. 5 - ELECTRIC PUMP INSTALLATION (see fig. 2)

Before installing the hydraulic unit inside the well, it is necessary to remove all the sand, in accordance with the
ordinary procedures adopted for perforators.

SCM 4 PLUS® pumps should never be used without pumping liquid, because the bearings are lubricated by the liquid

itself. The pump can suffer severe damage if it is operated in dry conditions, even for short interval of time. The unit
has to be positioned on the bottom of the well and slightly raised by approximately 1-2 m, to prevent the sand
surrounding the motor and the pump and overheating the former and wearing the rotating parts of the latter.
Before lowering the pump into the well, make sure that the supply cable have been correctly tightened to the fittings
on the control panel and that the protection relays are suited to the absorption indicated on the nameplate. At this
point, disconnect the unit and start lowering it into the well. All lowering operations should be performed using
stainless steel or nylon ropes and the slots provided on the head of the pump.
Connect the first pipe section to the drain mouth of the pump after fixing the two halves of the supporting rod to the
end of the pipe. If threaded pipes are provided, apply the threaded sleeve to the upper end to avoid it sliding between
the pipe and the rod. Use a hoist to lower the whole unit into the well. Carefully control the free end of the cable to
prevent it falling into the well. Connect the second section of the pipe, that is coupled to the upper supporting rod,
remove the previous rod and lower the whole unit into the well. Repeat this operation until the desired project depth
has been reached. Take into account that the machine must be positioned at 1-2 m below the dynamic level or, at any
rate, at a depth that meets the pump NPSH. Before positioning the pump, it is necessary to take into account the
lowering of the water level, that can originate from seasonal factors or from an excessive stratum extraction. The well
level should never fall below the suction chamber to avoid gripping the guide bushings and overheating the motor. The
power cable should be fixed with straps every 2-3 m of pipe. Cables should be safely anchored to the riser to prevent
lowering caused by weight. These movements could cause deformations owed to the striking against the walls of the
well and ruptures of the cables.
If the riser is formed by threaded tube sections, it is necessary to tighten the latter to prevent them coming loose due
to the machine reaction torque.

Never use the electric cable to support the electric pump.

Be careful not to damage the electric cable when lowering
it into the well.

This type of pump can develop high pressure. If a collection
tank or expansion tank 15 is to be installed, it is advisable
to install a pressure limiter valve 16 between the tank and
the pump.

All of the pipes and installation parts must have a maximum
working pressure which is greater or equal to the maximum
pressure of the pump, if this is not possible it is necessary
to use a pressure reducer.

Protect the electric pump and all pipes from freezing.

CH. 6 - ELECTRIC CONNECTION

Installer must make sure that electric current network
has ground wire conforming to current laws.

high-sensitivity circuit breaker ,=30 mA (DIN VDE
0100T739)

Before connecting the power supply cord to the clamps on
the command panel, make sure that the cord is able to
withstand the nominal current of the unit.

The power cable must be replaced by qualified personnel
only.

Electric connections must be carried out by skilled staff only, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
enclosed to the electric equipment and the motor. It is advisable to install a protection device upstream, of adequate
dimensions (in accordance with the current values indicated on the nameplate) to prevent voltage peaks and
overloads.
Cables should be selected in function of the absorption in Ampere, indicated on the nameplate. Cables should be
dimensioned in accordance to the power to transmit, of the distance from the control page and the starting system
of the submersed motor. Cables should guarantee a submersed operation, have waterproof joints and show no signs
of abrasions or holes.
The control board should be equipped with all the protection devices and equipment to manage and drive the hydraulic
unit. More specifically, it is necessary to guarantee a protection against overcurrent and short circuits. Protections
against the loss of phases, the lowering of voltage and the lack of water in the well are recommended but not
compulsory.

CH. 7 - STARTING THE UNIT

Before lowering the pump into the well it is necessary to control the direction of rotation of the motor to avoid
damaging the thrust bearing. If the direction of rotation is correct, the hydraulic performances of the pump are
compliant with those indicated in the catalogue. To perform this check it is necessary to start the pump with a partially
opened gate. When the water starts flowing in, further close the gate and verify that the pressure value is above the
one indicated on the nameplate. If this not occurs, the motor is rotated in the opposed direction. To resume the correct
direction of rotation, invert the two phases on the control panel. The motor of the pump should not rotate in the
opposite direction for above 30 seconds.
After verifying the direction of rotation, allow the pump to run reducing the opening of the valve to about half the
maximum opening, for about one minute. Stop the pump to remove gas pockets from the hydraulic unit, since their
presence could prevent the correct lubrication of the shaft. This interval should always be below 5 minutes. After
performing this operation, restart the machine by gradually opening the delivery valve until all the sand has been
removed or has reached minimum levels (40 g/m3). If the well has been built and drained correctly, this operation can
be performed in about 20 minutes. After the completion of this phase, it is possible to connect the delivery hose of
the pump. Before starting the pump is final mode, check:

- the continuity of the electric circuit to make sure that no damages have occurred during the lowering in the well

- the insulation resistance to ground, that is the related value between the cable terminals and the drainage pipe

- the performances of the pump, that should always be within the operating range

- the value of the current supplied to the control board, that should always be below the one indicated on the motor
nameplate
If necessary, partially open the gate or adjust the pressure switches. If abnormal operating conditions are reported
during the start-up phase, stop the machine, establish the cause and remove the pump from the well, if necessary.

Use the hydraulic unit within the operating limits indicated
on the nameplate or the datasheet.

Never run the pump in dry conditions, even for short
intervals of time.

Do not run the pump with the interception valve on delivery
completely closed.

Do not run the pump in the opposite direction for more than
30 seconds.

Complete all the electric and mechanic connections before
starting the pump.

CH. 8 - MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Periodical maintenance should be performed according to the content of sand in water. In ordinary conditions, SCM
4 Plus® pumps do not require servicing. To prevent possible failure, it is advisable to periodically control the flow rate
and current absorption. A fall below 50% in the flow rate, as compared to the rated value, indicates that the pump is
worn. Similarly, an increase of the current absorption above 5% indicates the presence of abnormal mechanical
failures in the pump and/or motors. In many cases, it is necessary to replace the worn parts, like impellers, O-rings

and bearings. If the content of sand in pumped water is high, it is advisable to inspect the pump for the first time after
about one thousand operating hours. If the pump is left idle in the well for long intervals of time, it is advisable to start
it and allow it to run for a short time every 2-3 months. Always make sure that the unit is completely submersed.

Комплект поставки насосов SCM 4 Plus® может включать или не включать электрический двигатель. В данной инструкции
приводится вся необходимая информация по использованию и сервисному обслуживанию этих видов оборудования.
Насосы SCM 4 Plus® являются подводными. Многоступенчатое перекачивающее устройство монтируется непосредственно к
подводному электродвигателю.

РАЗДЕЛ 2 – ТРАНСПОРТИРОВКА И ХРАНЕНИЕ

На этапе сборки каждый прибор проходит тщательную инспекцию и индивидуально упаковывается.
При получении насоса убедитесь, что комплект поставки оборудования соответствует данным, указанным при заказе, а также в
том, что оборудование было доставлено без дефектов при транспортировке. В случае обнаружения таковых дефектов покупатель
обязуется известить о них дистрибьютора в течение 8 (восьми) дней со дн

Транспортировка насоса (или вала насоса) должна производиться с использованием оборудования и приспособлений,
соответствующих его весу и габаритным размерам. Транспортировку вручную допускается только для насосов (или отдельных
модулей), масса которых не превышает 20 кг.
Устройства должны храниться в сухих, хорошо вентилируемых отапливаемых помещениях. В случае, если устройства помещаются
на долгосрочное хранение (протяженностью более 12 месяцев) ил
необходимо выполнять вращение валов и гидравлического модуля как минимум одни раз в месяц. Обеспечьте защиту клемм
кабелей от воздействия влаги, убедитесь, что при свертывании кабеля образуются петли, превышающие диаметр кабеля минимум
в 6 раз. При отдельном хранении компонентов обеспечьте защиту каучуковых частей и упорных по
воздействия прямого солнечного излучения.

РАЗДЕЛ 4 – СБОРКА ДВИГАТЕЛЯ (см. рис. 1)

Конструкция насосов SCM 4 PLUS® рассчитана на использование в соединении с двигателями 4".
Для обеспечения корректной установки выполните следующие операции:

- извлеките кабелепровод, защищающий кабель и фильтр для улавливания твердых частиц.

РАЗДЕЛ 7 – ЗАПУСК УСТРОЙСТВА

Перед погружением насоса в колодец необходимо проверить направление движения вращения во избежание повреждения
упорного подшипника скольжения. Если направление вращения правильное, пропускная способность насоса соответствует
указанной в каталоге. Для выполнения проверки необходимо выполнить за
начала движения потока воды закройте шлюз и убедитесь, что величина давления превышает величину, обозначенную на
шильдике. Если это не так, двигатель вращается в обратном направлении. Для восстановления вращения двигателя в прямом
направлении переключите фазы на панели управления. Не допускается вращения двигателя в обратном направлении в теч
более 30 сек.
После проверки направления вращения уменьшите величину открытия клапана примерно до половины максимальной величины
открытия, и оставьте насос работать в этом состоянии примерно в течение одной минуты. После этого остановите работу насоса
для удаления из гидравлического модуля воздушных пробок, препятствующих свободному смазыванию вала. Длительность
перерыва в работе не до
приоткрывая клапан, до полного удаления песка или снижения уровня его содержания до минимального уровня (40 g/m

РАЗДЕЛ 8 – ТЕХНИЧЕСКОЕ ОБСЛУЖИВАНИЕ И УСТРАНЕНИЕ НЕИСПРАВНОСТЕЙ

Процедуры по регулярному обслуживанию должны производиться с периодичностью, зависящей от уровня содержания песка в
воде. Как правило, для насосов SCM4 Plus® не требуется специального технического обслуживания. Для предотвращения
возможных сбоев в работе рекомендуется производить периодическую проверку скорости тока жидкости и величины потребления
тока. Понижение уровня скорости тока жидкости до отметки менее 50% от значения но
износе насоса. Соответственно, снижение потребления тока более чем на 5% свидетельствует о механических неполадках в

um das Garantierecht in Anspruch nehmen zu können, ist es erforderlich, diese Teile je nach ihrem Gebrauch von den ermächtigten Kundendienstzentren

er vom Produzenten schriftlich bestätigt wird. Man empfiehlt, das Bedienungsbüchlein stets achtsam und sorgsam zu lesen. Hinweise: Sollte Ihr Gerät nicht

en caso de averías, dirigirse directamente a su revendedor y / o al Centro de Asistencia autorizado. La eventual denuncia del producto considerado defectuoso
debe presentarse apenas se encuentra el defecto y, de todas formas, dentro y no más allá de los términos establecidos por la ley. El derecho a la garantía inicia

Cap. 1 GENERAL SAFETY WARNING

WARNING: Prior to installation, read this manual carefully. Failure to comply with the instructions given
herein shall void the product guarante.

During the procedures to connect the panel, this latter has to be
disconnected from the power supply line and the main switch has to
be positioned on open position. Avoid in any case contact with live
parts. Always work with all foreseen protection systems.

If it is necessary to open the box, first of all disconnect power
supply. Wait 5 minutes to allow the capacitor to be discharged. The
inobservance of this procedure may expose the operator to hazardous
risks of electric shock.

Do not use the box in atmospheres containing high concentrations
of dust, flammable gases or fuels.

The installation of the “Control box” must be performed only by
qualified personnel.

Cap. 2 FEATURES

The function of the panel is that of allowing the control of the motors of the submersed pumps.

Cap. 3 INSTALLATION

During the operation of connection to the panel, this latter has to be disconnected from the mains and the main
switch has to be positioned in open position.
Avoid in any case the contact with live parts.
Always work with all foreseen protection systems.
The installation has to be carried out exclusively by a competent and authorised technician responsible for the
correct final inspection from the point of view of safety.
Remove the upper cover (at page 18) of the panel and verify that the pre-assembled components are suitable for
the power of the pump motor (see table at page 11 “ENCLOSURES”) and that the connectors are connected
according to the wiring diagrams (at page 21-22) indicated on the panel cover.
Connect the panel to the mains, paying attention to fasten the cables well by means of cable fasteners (pos. 7 at
page 8) present within the box.
Moreover, verify that the cable clamps are well tightened by the supplied ring nuts and that they are of a proper type
suitable for the diameter of the cable used (pos. 8-9 at page 8).

This device is covered by legal warranty, based on the regulations and standards in force to date and in the country of
purchase, as regards manufacturing and/or material defects.The warranty only covers fixing or replacement of the pump
or defective parts, at the PENTAIR WATER ITALY Srl authorized service centers.Components subject to wear, such as
mechanical seal and counter face, sealing rings and gaskets, impeller and hydraulic part, membranes and electric cables
are guaranteed for a period not exceeding their useful life. For a proper use and life of the product, and to make use of
the warranty rights, have these parts inspected and optionally replaced at the authorized service centers, based on their
use.To exercise warranty rights, in the event of fault please contact your retailer and/or the authorized service center.
Any defects of the product should be reported as soon as the fault is discovered and in any event, within the terms set
forth by law. The warranty is valid as of the date of purchase, as proved by the user submitting a purchase receipt,
invoice or delivery note.The warranty becomes void: if the failure is caused by improper treatments or operations,
incorrect startup or storage, wrong electric or hydraulic connections, failed or inappropriate protection; if the equipment
installation or system were not performed correctly; if the failure is due to force majeure or external non-controllable
factors; if the product is used with abrasive or corrosive liquids or other than those allowed, or in any event not
compatible with the materials used in the pump construction; if the product is used besides the limits reported on the plate
or in conditions not allowed and in the event of unauthorized interventions by the user or other personnel for even partial
disassembly of the product, changes or tampering; if the materials are naturally worn.Any use differing from that
indicated on the use and maintenance manual is not guaranteed, unless otherwise indicated in writing by the manufacturer.

При необходимости открыть щит прежде всего нужно отключить
питание, затем - подождать 5 минут, давая конденсатору возможность
разрядиться. Несоблюдение этой процедуры может повлечь за собой
риск электрошока для оператора.

Не использовать щит в атмосфере с повышенной концентрацией пыли,
а также огнеопасных или горючих газов

Раздел 2-й  Общие сведения

Назначением щита является предоставление возможности управления моторами подводных насосов.

Раздел 3-й - Установка

Во время осуществления операций по подключению сам щит должен быть отключен от электрической линии, а общий
выключатель установлен в положение открыто Избегать контакта с частями под напряжением..
Работать исключительно при задействовании всех предусмотренных систем защиты.
Снять верхнюю крышку (позиция 2 на стр. 8) панели; убедиться в том, что все предварительно собранные компоненты
соответствуют мощности мотора насоса (см.таблицу на стр. 12 ПРИЛОЖЕНИЙ), и что провода подсоединены согласно
электрическим схемам (стр. 10-11), приведенным на крышке панели.
Подключить щит к линии, особое внимание уделяя тому, чтобы хорошо закрепить провода при помощи соответствующих
зажимов для крепления провода (позиция 7 на стр. 8), находящихся внутри щита.
Проконтролируйте также, что кабельные зажимы прочно завинчены при помощи входящих в комплект гаек - и что они
подходят для проводов используемого типа и диаметра.

Насосный агрегат гарантирован от любого дефекта изготовления в соответствии с законами и нормами, действующими в
стране покупки; гарантия покрывает неисправности и дефекты изготовления и использованного материала. Наша гарантия
предусматривает замену и ремонт насосного агрегата или дефектных частей на нашем предприятии, а также в специальных
центрах сервиса, уполномоченных фирмой «PENTAIR WATER ITALY Srl». Составные части, подвергающие износу, такие
как торцевое уплотнение, уплотнительные кольца, прокладки, рабочие колеса, гидравлические детали, резиновые мембраны,
и электрические кабели, являются расходными материалами и гарантия на их замену не распространяется. Для правильной
эксплуатации изделия, а также для пользования правом на гарантию, рекомендуется проверить и, при необходимости,
заменить вышеуказанные части, в зависимости от их применения, обращаясь в официальные центры техобслуживания.
