Sample Specifications
VXD/VXB - Vaneaxial Fan
1.1 Fans shall be tested and rated in accordance with AMCA methods and standards.
1.2 The fans shall be licensed to bear the AMCA Seal for air. The ratings shown in the product catalog must be based on tests and procedures performed in accordance with AMCA publication 211 and shall comply with the requirements of the AMCA Certied Ratings Program.
1.3 Fans shall conform to AMCA 99 Standards.
1.4 All motors and electrical components shall comply to NEMA, UL and CSA guidelines.
Direct Drive Vaneaxial
2.1 The fan shall be of an axial ow vaneaxial type conguration with a bolt-on straightening vane
section.
2.2 The fan shall be direct drive with the propeller mounted on the motor shaft by means of a taper lock
bushing.
2.3 The fan casing shall be of all welded construction with a anged inlet and outlet, and shall be constructed completely of carbon steel, stainless steel (type 316 or 304) or aluminum as indicated on fan schedule.
2.4 A bolt-on straightening vane section shall be mounted on the discharge end of the fan housing.
2.5 The propeller shall be constructed of 319F cast
aluminum material with the cast blades welded to
the cast hub per AWS welding standards. The hub is designed to incorporate a taper lock bushing and keyed to the motor shaft.
2.6 The fan shall be coated with enamel as standard or
optional other available coating as made available by coating suppliers and as indicated on the fan schedule.
3.0 The motor shall be of a typical NEMA-T frame type
and standard in nature with the motor industry
availability. The electric motor shall be as indicated on
the fan schedule and is available in any enclosure as made available from the motor vendors.
3.1 The motor leads shall be extended through the fan
casing for accessibility.
3.2 The fan shall be factory dynamically balanced at operating speed per AMCA 204 Grade BV-3/ ANSI
S2.19 G 6.3 and the results recorded on a label placed on the fan assembly.
4.0 Fan shall be cUL listed for UL705.
Belt Drive Vaneaxial
2.1 The fan shall be of an axial ow vaneaxial type conguration with a bolt-on straightening vane section.
2.2 The fan shall be belt drive, sized for 1.5 service factor. Motor is mounted externally on the fan casing and not exposed to the air stream.
2.3 The fan casing shall be of all welded construction with a anged inlet and outlet, and shall be constructed completely of carbon steel, stainless steel (type 316 or
304) or aluminum as indicated on fan schedule.
2.3.1 The fan shall have an inner tube section, fully welded
protecting the shaft, bearings and drive components
from direct air stream exposure.
2.3.2 The inner tube assembly shall have removable end
covers to allow for access to the bearing and drive assembly.
2.4 The fan shaft shall be steel, ground for precision t to bearings and keyed for driving the impeller and drive
sheave.
2.5 Fan bearings shall be cast iron housing, self-aligning,
re-lubricatable bearings with grease lines extended to the exterior of the casing. A.F.B.M.A. Bearing L
40,000 hours.
2.6 The propeller shall be constructed of 319F cast
aluminum material with the cast blades welded to
the cast hub per AWS welding standards. The hub is designed to incorporate a taper lock bushing and keyed to the fan shaft.
2.7 The motor mounting base is congured to allow for
various frame sizes and designed to allow for belt tensioning.
2.8 The fan shall be coated with enamel as standard or
optional other available coating as made available by coating suppliers and as indicated on the fan schedule.
2.9 The fan shall be of AMCA spark resistant construction
when required and as indicated on the fan schedule
as AMCA “A”, “B” or “C” as dened by AMCA Standard
99.
3.0 The motor shall be of a typical NEMA-T frame type and
standard in nature with the motor industry availability.
The electric motor shall be as indicated on the fan
schedule.
