Sample Specification
TXD, TXB - Tubeaxial Fans
1.1 Fans shall be tested and rated in accordance with AMCA air and sound methods and standards.
1.2 Fans shall conform to AMCA 99 Standards.
1.3 All motors and electrical components shall comply with NEMA, UL or other governing body.
Direct Drive
Product
2.1 Fan shall be of an axial flow tubeaxial type configuration.
2.2 Fan shall be direct drive with the propeller mounted on the motor shaft by means of a taperlock bushing.
2.3 Fan casing shall be of all welded construction with a flanged inlet and outlet, and shall be constructed completely of carbon steel, stainless steel (type 316 or 304) or aluminum as indicated on fan schedule.
2.4 The 091 propeller shall be constructed of six cast aluminum blades fastened directly to a cast aluminum hub assembly. The 097 propeller shall be constructed of six steel sheet metal blades fastened directly to a steel hub assembly. The 098 propeller shall be constructed of seven cast aluminum blades welded to a cast aluminum hub assembly per AWS welding standards. All hubs are designed to incorporate a taper lockbushing and are keyed to the motor shaft.
2.5 Fan shall be coated with enamel as standard or optional other available coating as made available by coating suppliers and as indicated on the fan schedule.
2.6 The motor shall be of a typical NEMA -T frame type and standard in nature with the motor industry availability. The electric motor shall be as indicated on the fan schedule and is available in any enclosure as made available from the motor vendors.
2.7 The motor leads shall be extended through the fan casing for accessibility.
2.8 The final complete fan assembly shall be vibration tested and mechanically balanced as per AMCA 204 Grade BV-3 / ANSI S2.19 G 6.3 and the results recorded on a label placed on the fan assembly.
Accessories
3.1 The fan shall have a sealed access door with quick opening latches when indicated on the fan schedule.
3.2 The fan shall be of a fixed, reversed airflow configuration.
3.3 The 013-091 fan shall be of a reversible airflow configuration for supply or exhaust.

Belt Drive
Product
2.1 Fan shall be of an axial flow tubeaxial type configuration.
2.2 Fan shall be belt driven, sized for 1.5 service factor. Motor is mounted externally on the fan casing and not exposed to the air stream.
2.3 Fan casing shall be of all welded construction with a flanged inlet and outlet, and shall be constructed completely of carbon steel, stainless steel (type 316 or 304) or aluminum as indicated on fan schedule.
2.3.1 The fan shall have an inner tube section, fully welded protecting the shaft, bearings and drive components from direct air stream exposure.
2.3.2 The inner tube assembly shall have removable end covers to allow for access to the bearing and drive assembly
2.4 Fan shaft shall be steel, ground for precision fit to bearings and keyed for driving the impeller and drive sheave. Shafting sized such that the first critical speed is 125% of fan maximum speed.
2.5 Fan bearings shall be cast iron housing, self-aligning, relubricable bearings with grease lines extended to the exterior of the casing. A.F.B.M.A. Bearing L-10 life of 40,000 hours.
2.6 The 091 propeller shall be constructed of six cast aluminum blades fastened directly to a cast aluminum hub assembly. The 097 propeller shall be constructed of six steel sheet metal blades fastened directly to a steel hub assembly. The 098 propeller shall be constructed of seven cast aluminum blades welded to a cast aluminum hub assembly per AWS welding standards. All hubs are designed to incorporate a taper lock bushing and are keyed directly to the fan shaft.
2.7 The motor mounting base is configured to allow for various frame sizes and designed to allow for belt tension adjustment.
2.8 Fan shall be coated with enamel as standard or optional other available coating as made available by coating suppliers and as indicated on the fan schedule.
2.9 Fan shall be of AMCA spark resistant construction when required and as indicated on the fan schedule as AMCA “A”, “B” or “C” as defined by AMCA Standard 99.
2.10 The motor shall be of a typical NEMA -T frame type and standard in nature with the motor industry availability. The electric motor shall be as indicated on the fan schedule and is available in any enclosure as made available from the motor vendors.
2.11 The final complete fan assembly shall be vibration tested and mechanically balanced as per AMCA 204 Grade BV­3 / ANSI S2.19 G 6.3 and the results recorded on a label placed on the fan assembly.
Accessories
3.1 The fan shall have a belt guard to protect the exposed belts and drive components or a weather motor and drive cover as indicated on the fan schedule.
3.2 The fan shall have a sealed inspection door with quick opening latches when indicated on the fan schedule.
3.3 The fan shall be of a fixed, reversed airflow configuration.
3.4 The TXB-091 fan shall be of a reversible airflow configuration
for supply or exhaust (aluminum propeller only).
