1.1 IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND WARNINGS

Please thoroughly familiarize yourself with the information in this manual prior to installation and operation.
Read Instructions
Safety and operating instructions should be read before the monitor is operated.
Retain Instructions
Safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
Heed Warnings
All warnings on the monitor and in the operating instructions should be followed.
Follow Instructions
All operating and use instructions should be followed.
Cleaning
Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Attachments
Use only attachments recommended by Pelco.
Water and Moisture
Do not use this monitor near water - for example, near a kitchen sink, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool - unless the monitor is specifically marked “For Use in Wet Locations.”
Accessories
Do not place this monitor on an unstable cart, stand, table, or mount. The monitor may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult and serious damage to the monitor. Use only with a mount recommended by Pelco. When mounting the monitor, follow Pelco’s installation instructions, and use only mounting accessories recommended by Pelco.
Cart & Stand
A monitor and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the monitor and cart combination to overturn.
Ventilation
Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the monitor and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the monitor on furniture, carpet, or similar surfaces. The monitor should never be placed near or over radiators or heat registers. This monitor should not be placed in a builtin installation, such as a bookcase or rack, unless proper ventilation is provided.
Power Sources
This monitor should only be operated from the type of power source indicated on the back panel label. If you are not sure of the type of power to your installation location, consult your local electrical building official or power company.
Grounding
This monitor is equipped with a grounding plug. This plug will only fit into a grounding outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the grounding plug since it is provided to ensure your safety.

Power-Cord Protection
Power cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them. When routing power cords, pay attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the monitor.
Overloading
Do not connect more power plugs to one outlet than it can safely handle. This may overload wall outlets and extension cords and can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
Object and Liquid Entry
Never push objects of any kind through openings in this monitor as they may touch dangerous voltage points or “short-out” electrical parts and could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the monitor.
Servicing
Do not attempt to service this monitor yourself. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Damage Requiring Servicing
Unplug this monitor from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
a. When the power cord or plug is damaged. b. If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the monitor. c. If the monitor is not marked “Suitable for Wet Locations” and it has been ex-
posed to rain or water.
WARNING:
This product has been evaluated for INDOOR USE ONLY unless it bears the marking “For Use in Wet Locations.”
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock hazard, do not remove the monitor cover. This monitor cannot be serviced by the user and must be sent to a qualified service person for repair.
d. If the monitor does not operate normally by following the operating instruc-
tions, adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and may require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the monitor to its normal
operation. e. If the monitor has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged. f. When the monitor exhibits a distinct change in performance - this indicates a
need for service.
Replacement Parts
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by Pelco or have the same characteristics as the original part. Improper substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
Safety Checks
Upon completion of any service or repairs to this monitor, ask your service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the monitor is in proper operating condition.
