Introduction
PASCO's Timer Switch was designed for use in the Discover Freefall System (ME-9820),
however it can also be used with the drop box from the Shoot-the-Target Accessory (ME-
6805). In general, the switch can be used to signal the beginning of an event through each of
its plugs.

TIMER SWITCH Model No. ME-9819
Basic Operating Procedure
Discover Freefall System
When used with the Discover Freefall System, one of the
Timer Switch plugs is connected to the drop box and the
other to either the Smart Timer (ME-8930) or a computer
interface. When the button is pushed, a signal is sent
simultaneously to the drop box and Smart Timer/Interface.
This causes timing to begin at the same instant the object is
released from the drop box.
Freefall with Motion Sensor
Another application involves using the Timer Switch and drop
box to release an object over a motion sensor. Frequently, the
release of an object over a motion sensor is critical for quality
data collection. Simply plug one of the Timer Switch cables
into the drop box, hang the object from the box, and push the
button on the switch for a clean, repeatable release. In this
case, one of the plugs from the switch is not used.
Two Objects in Freefall
Two objects can also be released simultaneously by using
the Timer Switch with two drop boxes as described
above. In this case, one plug is inserted into each of the
drop boxes before releasing the objects.
