Unpacking and Setup Instructions

Package Content

The EM-70 Series and its accessories
are packed in a cardboard carton with
foam padding for protection during
shipment. Carefully unpack the system
and keep the packing materials for
future use.

Verify that all of the items shown are
included in the box. If an item is
missing or appears to be damaged,
contact your Partner Tech dealer
immediately.

Connect the device using the AC adaptor.
Then plug the other end of the power
adaptor to the wall outlet to start
charging.

until the status LED lights up.

Optional Modules

Using the MSR Module

A. MSR Module Installation

1. Remove the screw securing the
module connectors slot cover.

2. Align the guides on the MSR module
through the guides on the side of the
Tablet PC.

3. Attach three screws to secure the
MSR module to the Tablet PC.

B. Testing the MSR Module

Launch the test application. Then swipe a
magnetic stripe card through the MSR module.
Data appears on
the screen if the test
is successful.

Using the RFID Module

Launch the test application. Then place the RFID card
on the upper-right corner of the Tablet PC to scan the
card.
Data on the card is read and displayed on the screen.

Using the Barcode Scanner
Module

Launch the test application.
Then aim the scanner on the barcode
and press the scanner trigger button.
Data appears on the screen if
the test is successful.

Using the IC Card Reader

Launch the test application. Then open the IC card reader
cover and insert a smart card into the slot.
Once the device successfully reads the data on the smart card
and the read data appears on the screen.
