Introduction

Please make sure you familiarise your-

self fully with the way the device works

before you use it for the first time and
that you understand how to handle electrical pow­er tools correctly. To help you do this please read
the accompanying operating instructions. Keep
these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the
device on to anyone else, please ensure that you
also pass on all the documentation.



Proper use

The device is intended for the dry cutting, rough
grinding and brushing of metal and stone. Any other
use or modification to the device shall be considered
as improper use and could give rise to considerable
dangers. We will not accept liability for loss or
damage arising from improper use. The device is
not intended for commercial use.

Note: Slots cut in load-bearing walls must comply
with standard DIN 1053 Part 1 or the regulations
applicable in your country.
These instructions and advice must be observed.
Before you start a task, seek the advice of a com­petent structural engineer, architect, or the relevant
site management staff.



1. Workplace safety

a) Keep your working area clean and

well lit. Untidy or poorly lit working areas

can lead to accidents.

b)

Do not work with the device

in potentially explosive envi­ronments in which there

are inflammable liquids, gases or

dusts. Electrical power tools create sparks,

which can ignite dusts or fumes.

c)

Keep children and other peo-

ple away while you are op­erating the electrical tool.

Distractions can cause you to lose control of

the device.

2. Electrical safety

To avoid danger to

life from electric shock:

a)

The mains plug on the device must match
the mains socket. The plug must not
be modified in any way. Do not use
an adapter plug with devices fitted
with a protective earth. Unmodified

plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of
electric shock.

b) Avoid touching earthed surfaces such

as pipes, radiators, ovens and refrig­erators with any part of your body.

There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed

.

c) Keep the device away from rain or

moisture. Water entering an electrical device
increases the risk of electric shock.

d)

Do not use the mains lead for

any purpose for which it was
not intended, e.g. to carry the

device, to hang up the device or to pull

the mains plug out of the mains socket.
Keep the mains lead away from heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the
device. Damaged or tangled mains leads

increase the risk of electric shock.

e) When working outdoors with an elec-

trical power tool always use extension
cables that are also approved for use
outdoors. The use of an extension cable suitable

for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

f) Use a residual current device (RCD)

for protection if operating the electrical
power tool in a moist environment is
unavoidable. The use of an RCD reduces

the risk of electric shock.

3. Personal safety

a) Remain alert at all times, watch what

you are doing and always proceed
with caution. Do not use the device if
you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. One

moment of carelessness when using the device
can lead to serious injury.

b)

Wear personal protective

equipment and always wear
safety glasses. The wearing of

personal protective equipment such as dust

masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets or
ear protectors, appropriate to the type of elec­trical power tool used and work undertaken,
reduces the risk of injury.

c) Avoid unintentional operation of the

device. Check that the electrical pow-

er tool is switched off before you con­nect it to the mains, pick it up or carry
it. Accidents can happen if you carry the de-

vice with your finger on the ON / OFF switch or
with the device switched on.

d) Remove any setting tools or spanners

before you switch the device on. A tool
or spanner left attached to a rotating part of a
device can lead to injury.

e) Avoid placing your body in an unnat-

ural position. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. By doing this

you will be in a better position to control the
device in unforeseen circumstances.

f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear

loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing and gloves clear of mov­ing parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long

hair can become trapped in moving parts.

g) If vacuum dust extraction and collection

devices are fitted do not forget to

check

that they are properly connected

and

correctly used. The use of these devices re-

duces the hazard presented by dust.

4. Careful handling and use of
electrical power tools

a) Do not overload the device. Always

use an electrical power tool that is
intended for the task you are under­taking. By using the right electrical power

tool for the job you will work more safely and
achieve a better result.

b) Do not use an electrical power tool if

its switch is defective. An electrical power
tool that can no longer be switched on and off
is dangerous and must be repaired.

c) Pull the mains plug out of the socket

before you make any adjustments to
the device, change accessories or when
the device is put away. This precaution is

intended to prevent you from unintentionally
starting the device.

d) When not in use always ensure that

electrical power tools are kept out of
reach of children. Do not let anyone

use the device if he or she is not famil­iar with it or has not read the instruc­tions and advice. Electrical power tools are

dangerous when they are used by inexperienced
people.

e)

Look after the device carefully. Check

that moving parts are working prop­erly and move freely. Check for any
parts that are broken or damaged
enough to detrimentally affect the
functioning of the device. Have dam­aged parts repaired before you use the
device. Many accidents have their origins in

poorly maintained electrical power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools clean and sharp.

Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to jam and are
easier to control.

g) Use the electrical power tool, accesso-

ries, inserted tools etc. in accordance
with these instructions and advice,
and the stipulations drawn up for this
particular type of device. In doing
this, take into account the working
conditions and the task in hand. The

use of electrical power tools for purposes other
than those intended can lead to dangerous
situations.



Safety advice for all uses

General safety advice for grinding,
sanding (with sandpaper), wire brushing,
polishing and disc-cutting:

a) This electrical power tool is intended

for use as a grinding, sanding, wire­brushing, and disc-cutting machine.

Observe all the safety advice, instructions, in­formation in figures and all other information
you received with this device. If you do not
observe the following advice it could lead to
electric shock, fire and / or serious injury.

b) Normative statement / advice for this tool is not

applicable.

c) Do not use any accessory not specifi-

cally intended by the manufacturer

for this electrical power tool. Although

an accessory may fit on your electrical power
tool, this does not on its own guarantee that it
can be safely used.

d) The maximum permitted speed of an

attachment must be at least as high as
the maximum speed indicated for the
electrical power tool. An accessory rotating

faster than its permitted speed could disintegrate
or fly off.

e) The external diameter and the thickness

of the attachment must be compatible
with the dimensions of your electrical
power tool. Attachments that are not dimen-

sionally compatible cannot be adequately
guarded or controlled.

f) Grinding discs, flanges, grinding

wheels or other accessories must fit
exactly on to the spindle of your elec­trical power tool. Attachments that do not

exactly fit on the spindle turn unevenly, vibrate
severely and could lead to loss of control.

g) Do not use damaged attachments.

Before every use check attachments
such as grinding discs for loose frag­ments and cracks, grinding wheels for
cracks, deterioration or excessive
wear and wire brushes for loose or
broken wires. If the electrical power
tool or attachment is dropped, inspect
for damage or change the attachment
for an undamaged one. When you
have inspected and inserted the at­tachment, position yourself and by­standers away from the plane of the
rotating attachment and run the device
at maximum speed for one minute.

Damaged attachments will usually break apart
during this test.

h)

Wear personal protective

equipment. Use a full face vi­sor, safety goggles or safety

glasses, depending on the application.

Wear a dust mask, hearing protectors,
safety gloves or special apron capable
of stopping particles of the grinding
medium or workpiece, as appropriate
for the task. Eyes must be protected from

the flying debris which can arise from some
operations. Dust or breathing masks must be
capable of filtering out the dust generated by
the application. Prolonged exposure to loud
noise can lead to hearing loss.

i) Keep bystanders at a safe distance

from your work area. Anyone entering
the work area must wear personal
protective equipment. Fragments of the

workpiece or of a broken attachment could fly
off and cause injury beyond the immediate
working area.

j) Hold the device by the insulated han-

dle surfaces when you are undertak­ing work where there is the danger
of the attachment striking hidden
electricity cables or the device’s mains
lead. Contact with a live wire could cause

metal parts of the device to become live and
lead to electric shock.

k) Keep the mains lead away from rotat-

ing attachments. If you lose control of the
device the mains lead may become severed or
trapped and your hand or arm may be pulled
into the rotating attachment.

l) Never lay the electrical power tool

down until after the attachment has
come to a complete standstill. The rotat-

ing attachment may snag when it comes into
contact with the surface and cause you to lose
control of the device.

m) Do not have the electrical power tool

running while you are carrying it. Your
clothing could become trapped by unintention­al contact with the rotating attachment and the
tool could be pulled into your body.

n) Clean the ventilation slots on your

electrical power tool regularly. The mo­tor’s fan draws dust into the housing. A build-up
of metal dust could give rise to an electrical
hazard.

o)

Never use the electrical

power tool near inflammable
materials. Sparks could ignite

these materials.
p) Do not use attachments that require

the use of coolants. The use of water or
other liquid coolants could result in electric shock.



Safety advice

relating to kickback

Kickback is the sudden reaction to a pinched or
snagged rotating attachment, such as a grinding
disc, grinding pad, wire brush etc. Pinching or
snagging results in the rotating attachment coming
to an abrupt stop. This causes the electrical power
tool (if not controlled) to move in the opposite di­rection to the direction of rotation of the attachment
at the point of constraint.

If, for example, a grinding disc is pinched or snags
in a workpiece, this can cause the edge of the
grinding disc to penetrate the workpiece, become
trapped there and either free itself or kickback. The
grinding disc moves towards or away from the op­erator, depending on the direction of movement of
the disc at the point of constraint. The grinding disc
could also break.

Kickback occurs as a result of incorrect use or mis­use of the electrical power tool. It can be prevented
by taking the appropriate precautions as described
below.

a) Maintain a firm grip on the electrical

power tool and position your body
and arms to allow you to resist kick­back forces. Always use the auxiliary
handle, if provided, to exercise the
greatest possible control over kick­back forces or reaction torques as the
device builds up to full speed. By taking

suitable precautions the operator can control
kickback and reaction forces.

b) Do not place your hands near a rotat-

ing attachment. If kickback occurs the at­tachment could move over your hand.

c) Avoid positioning your body in the

area into which the electrical power
tool would move in the event of a
kickback. A kickback moves the electrical

power tool in the opposite direction to the di­rection of movement of the grinding disc at the
point of constraint.

d) Work particularly carefully in the

area of corners, sharp edges etc. to

avoid the attachment bouncing or
snagging on the workpiece. Corners,
sharp edges or bouncing have a ten­dency to snag the rotating attachment.

This causes loss of control or kickback.

e) Do not use saw-chain woodcarving

discs or toothed discs. Such attachments
create frequent kickback and loss of control of
the electrical power tool.



Special safety advice relating

to grinding and disc-cutting

a) Always use the guard designed for

the type of abrasive consumable you
are using. Always use abrasive consumables

approved for use with your electrical power
tool. Abrasive consumables not approved for
use with your electrical power tool cannot be
adequately guarded and are unsafe.

b) To ensure the highest level of opera-

tional safety, the disc guard cover
must be attached to the electrical
power tool and set in such a way that
the smallest possible area of the
abrasive consumable is exposed to
the operator. The disc guard cover is there

to protect the operator from pieces breaking
off and accidental contact with the abrasive
consumable.

c) Abrasive consumables must be used

only for their recommended purpos­es, For example: never grind with the
side face of a cutting disc. Cutting discs

are intended for removing material using the
edge of the disc. Sideways forces on these
abrasive consumables can cause them to break.

d) Always use an undamaged mounting

flange of the correct size and shape
for your selected grinding disc. Suitable

flanges support the grinding disc and reduce
the chance of it breaking. Flanges for cutting
discs are different from the flanges for other
abrasive discs.

e) Never use worn down abrasive con-

sumables intended for larger electrical
power tools. Abrasive consumables intended

for larger electrical power tools are not designed
for the faster rotational speeds of these smaller
electrical power tools and could break.



Further special safety

advice for disc-cutting

a) Avoid snagging the cutting disc and

do not use too much contact pressure.
Do not attempt to make excessively
deep cuts. Overloading the cutting disc in-

creases the load and the tendency of the disc
to twist or snag in the cut, making kickback or
disc breakage more likely.

b) Avoid the area in front of or behind

the rotating cutting disc. If the cutting disc
is moving away from you at the point of con­straint in the workpiece, then, in the event of
a kickback, the electrical power tool and the
rotating disc may be thrown towards you.

c) If the cutting disc jams or you stop

work for a while, switch the device
off and hold it until the disc comes to
a complete stop. Never attempt to
pull the still rotating cutting disc out of
the cut as this could cause kickback.

Determine and rectify the reason for the jamming.

d) Do not switch on the device if the cut-

ting disc is in the workpiece. Allow the
cutting disc to reach full speed before carefully
continuing with the cut. Otherwise the disc
could snag, jump out of the workpiece or
cause a kickback.

e) Support boards or workpieces whilst

cutting to reduce the risk of kickback
caused by a jammed cutting disc. Large

workpieces may bend under their own weight.
The workpiece must be supported to both sides
of the cutting disc and particularly near the
cutting disc and at the workpiece edge.

f) Be particularly careful when pocket

cutting in existing walls or other areas
where you cannot see what you are
cutting into. The cutting disc plunged into

the surface could cut through gas or water
pipes, electricity cables or other objects and
cause kickback.

Special safety advice for

abrading using sandpaper

 Do not use over-sized sanding sheets.

Follow the manufacturer’s recommen­dations for sanding sheet size. Sanding

sheets that project beyond the backing pad
could cause injury in addition to jamming,
tearing of the sheet or kickback.



Special safety

advice for polishing

 Do not use the polishing bonnet if it

has any loose parts, in particular the
fastening cords. Tuck the fastening cords

away or trim them. Loose fastening cords rotat­ing with the attachment could catch your fingers
or become trapped in the workpiece.



Special safety advice for

working with wire brushes

a) Bear in mind that wire brushes lose

pieces of wire during normal use. Do
not overload the wires by applying too
much pressure. Flying pieces of wire can very

easily penetrate thin clothing and / or skin.

b) Use a guard, if recommended, but

make sure that the wire brush does
not come into contact with the guard.

The diameters of disc brushes and cup brushes
can increase due to contact pressure and cen­tripetal forces.

Safety advice

for angle grinders

 DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not

operate the device if the mains lead
or mains plug is damaged.

 DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not

touch the mains lead if it becomes
damaged or cut through while you
are using the device. Pull the plug out of

the mains socket immediately and have the de­vice repaired by a suitably qualified person or
at your service centre.

 DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not

operate the device if it is damp and
do not use it in a damp environment.

 DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! If you

use the device outdoors, always con

nect
it through a residual current device
(RCD) with a maximum trip current of
30 mA. If using an extension lead, always use

one that is approved for outdoor use.

 Do not suspend or carry the device by

the mains lead. Always work with the
mains lead leading away from the
rear of the device. Otherwise the device

could be damaged.

 Grinding discs must be carefully kept

and handled in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Otherwise

they could be damaged.

 Make sure that abrasive consumables

and tools are attached in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions
and advice. Otherwise they could become

detached from the device and result in injury
and / or damage to property.

 Ensure that any spacers supplied and

required for the use of certain abrasive
consumables and tools are installed.

 Do not use separate reducing bushes

or adapters in order to make grinding
discs with a larger bore fit.

 When using abrasive consumables

and tools with a threaded insert make
sure that the tread is long enough for
the spindle length. Otherwise the grinding

discs could become detached from the device
and result in injury and / or damage to property.

 Do not allow the end of the spindle

to contact the base of the hole in the
abrasive consumable.

 Do not work in areas where there may

be concealed electricity cables or gas
or water pipes. Use a suitable detector
or ask your local utility service pro­viders. Contact with electricity cables can

lead to fire or electric shock. Damaging a gas

pipe can lead to an explosion. Penetration of a
water pipe can lead to property damage or to
electric shock.



WARNING!

NOXIOUS FUMES!

Working with harmful / noxious dusts represents
a risk to the health of the person operating the
device and to anyone near the work area.

 For longer periods of cutting or grind-

ing metal or stone materials which
give rise to dusts that are hazardous
to health, the device must be connected
to a suitable external dust extraction
device.

 Ensure that there is adequate ventila-

tion when working on plastic, paint,
varnish etc.

 Do not soak the materials or the sur-

face you are about to work on with
liquids containing solvents.

 DANGER OF INJURY! Wear close-fitting

clothing and keep long hair inside a
hairnet or suitable headwear.

 For safety reasons this device must

always be used with the auxiliary
handle

in place.

 The adjustable disc guard cover

must always be in place when work­ing with roughing, grinding or cutting
discs. Otherwise there could be danger of in-

jury.

 Use the vacuum dust extraction facility

if your work generates high amounts
of dust. Use suction devices particular­ly approved for the purpose.

 Use permitted consumables and tools

only. Check that the speed given on the
discs is greater or equal to the rated
speed of the device.

 Take note of the direction of rotation

and always hold the device in such a
way that the sparks and grinding de­bris are thrown away from your body.

Otherwise there could be danger of injury.

 Make sure that the dimensions of the

disc are suitable for the device and
that the disc is of a type that fits prop­erly on to the mounting flange

Advice on use

Note! Discs must be used only for their recom­mended purposes, otherwise they could disintegrate,
become damaged or cause accidents.

Roughing:

Never use cutting discs for

roughing or grinding!

 Move the angle grinder using even

pressure to and fro over the workpiece.

 Hold the roughing or grinding disc at

a flat angle to the workpiece when
working on a soft material. Use a
slightly steeper angle for harder ma­terials.

Disc-cutting:

Never use roughing or

grinding discs for cutting!

 Only use certified fibre-reinforced cut-

ting or grinding discs approved for use at

circumferential speeds of not less than 80 m / s.

CAUTION! The disc continues to rotate after

the device has been switched off. Do not at­tempt to slow it down by pressing on the side
of the disc.

 Securely support the workpiece. Use

clamps or a vice to grip the workpiece firmly.
This is much safer than holding it in your hand.

DANGER! Always guide

the device through the
workpiece against the di­rection of rotation of the

disc. If you work in the other direction there is

the risk of kickback. The device may be forced
out of the cut.

 Always switch on the device before

placing it against the workpiece. After

cutting or grinding, always lift the device from
the workpiece before switching it off.

 When working always hold the device

securely with both hands (see Fig. D).

Always keep proper footing and balance.

 For the best grinding performance move the

device evenly to and fro over the workpiece
maintaining an angle of 15° to 30° (between
grinding disc and workpiece).

 When working on inclined surfaces do

not press the device hard down on to
the workpiece. If the speed slows greatly,

use less pressure. This will allow you to work
more effectively and safely. If the device sudden­ly stops due to it becoming retarded or trapped,
pull the mains plug from the socket immediately.

 Cutting: Advance the device at an

appropriate rate. Do not incline the
cutting disc.

 Roughing, grinding and cutting discs

get hot during use – allow them to
cool fully before touching them.

 Never use the device for a purpose

for which it was not intended.

 Before you insert the mains plug into

the socket, always check that the de­vice is switched off.

 If a dangerous situation arises, pull

the mains plug immediately out of the
mains socket. Ensure that the device and

the mains plug are easily accessible and can
be reached quickly in an emergency.

 When taking a break from your

work, before carrying out any tasks
on the device itself and when you are
not using the device, always pull the

mains plug out of the mains socket.

Always keep the device clean, dry and free of
oil or grease.

 Remain alert at all times! Always watch

what you are doing and proceed with
caution. Do not use the device if you cannot

concentrate or you are feeling unwell.



be securely attached to the angle grinder. To
ensure the highest level of safety while using
the device, ensure that the smallest possible
area of the grinding or cutting tool is exposed
to the operator at all times. The disc guard cov­er is there to protect the operator from pieces
breaking off and accidental contact with the
grinding or cutting tool.

Attaching and replacing

roughing / grinding / cutting discs

Take note of the dimensions of the roughing /
grinding or cutting discs. The circular hole must fit
on to the mounting flange without play. Do not use
a reducer piece or adapter.



free of damage, moisture or cracks.

Otherwise they could break up during use and

hot during use. Do not touch them until after
they have cooled down.

 NOTE: Always ensure the discs are free of dirt

no-load speed of the device.

 NOTE: Replace a new disc immediately if it

runs unevenly or vibrates after being exchanged.

 After replacing a disc let the device run under

no-load conditions for 30 seconds as a safety
check. Look out for unusual noises or generation
of sparks. Check that all the fastened-on parts
are correctly attached.

 Pay attention to see that the arrow showing the

direction of rotation on the roughing / grinding
or cutting discs (including diamond cutting discs)
corresponds with the direction of rotation of the
device (see arrow on the head of the device).



 Have the carbon brushes replaced only at the

no other maintenance.

 Clean the device frequently; for best results do

this immediately after you have finished using it.

 Use a dry cloth to clean the housing – under

no circumstances use petrol, solvents or cleaning
agents that attack plastic.

 A vacuum cleaner is required to thoroughly

clean the device.

 Ventilation openings must always be kept free.
 Remove any adhering dust with a narrow paint

brush.



Yleistä

Tutustu ennen käyttöönottoa laitteeseen, sen

Ohjeidenmukainen käyttö

Laite on tarkoitettu ilman vettä tapahtuvaan metalli- ja
kivimateriaalien katkaisuun, hiontaan ja harjaukseen.

1. Työpaikkaturvallisuus

a) Pidä työskentelypaikka puhtaana ja

hyvin valaistuna. Epäjärjestys ja huono

valaistus voivat johtaa tapaturmiin.

b)

Älä käytä laitetta räjähdys-

vaarallisessa ympäristössä,
jossa säilytetään helposti

syttyviä nesteitä, kaasuja tai jossa

kehittyy pölyä. Sähkötyökalut kehittävät

kipinöintiä, joka voi sytyttää pölyn tai höyryn.

c)

Lapsien ja asiattomien henki-

löiden läsnäolo työpaikalla
laitteen ollessa käynnissä ei

ole sallittua. Voit helposti menettää kontrol-

lin laitteeseen.

2. Sähköturvallisuus

Vältä sähköiskun aiheuttamaa

hengenvaaraa:

a) Laitteen pistokkeen pitää sopia pisto-

rasiaan. Pistoketta ei saa muuttaa
millään tavalla. Älä käytä adapteria
yhdessä suojamaadoitettujen laitteiden
kanssa. Alkuperäinen pistoke ja sopivat pisto-

rasia vähentävät sähköiskuvaaraa.

b) Vältä kosketusta maadoitettuihin pin-

toihin, kuten putkiin, lämpöpattereihin,

liesiin sekä jääkaappeihin. Vaarana on
saada sähköisku, jos kehosi on maadoitettu.

c) Älä pidä laitetta sateessa tai muussa

kosteudessa. Veden pääsy laitteeseen lisää
sähköisku vaaraa.

d)

Älä kanna laitetta riiputta-

malla sitä kaapelista ja vedä
kaapeli irti pistorasiasta

pitämällä kiinni pistokkeesta. Älä jätä

kaapelia kuumaan paikkaan, älä
päästä siihen öljyä, varo teräviä reu­noja sekä laitteen pyöriviä osia.

Vialliset tai kietoutuneet kaapelit lisäävät riskiä
saada sähköisku.

e) Jos työskentelet ulkotiloissa, käytä

silloin jatkokaapelia, jonka käyttö on
sallittu myös ulkotilaan. Ulkotilaan sovel-

tuva kaapeli vähentää riskiä saada sähköisku.

f) Jos sähkötyökalua joudutaan käyttä-

mään kosteassa ympäristössä, on
käytettävä vikavirtakytkintä. Vikavirta-

kytkimen käyttö pienentää sähköiskun vaaraa.

3. Henkilöiden turvallisuus

a) Ole aina tarkkaavainen, tarkista aina,

mitä teet ja toimi järkevästi sähkölait­teilla työskennellessäsi. Älä käytä
laitetta, jos olet väsynyt, käyttänyt
huumeita, alkoholia tai lääkkeitä.

Epätarkkaavaisuus laitetta käytettäessä voi ai­heuttaa vaikeita loukkaantumisia.

b)

Käytä henkilökohtaisia tur-

vavarusteita ja suojalaseja
aina. Henkilökohtaisten turvavarus-

teiden käyttö, kuten pölynaamari, turvakengät,

kypärä tai kuulosuoja, vähentävät loukkaantu­misriskiä.

c) Varo käynnistämästä laitetta vahin-

gossa. Varmista, että sähkötyökalu
on kytketty pois päältä, ennen kuin
liität sen pistorasiaan, nostat sen tai
kannat sitä. Tapaturmat ovat mahdollisia,

jos sormesi on laitetta kantaessasi virtakytkimel­lä tai laite on kytketty päälle.

d) Poista kaikki työkalut ja ruuviavaimet

paikalta ennen kuin kytket laitteen.

Pyörivässä laiteosassa oleva työkalu tai avain
voi johtaa tapaturmaan.

e) Vältä työskentelemästä epätavalli-

sessa asennossa. Asetu tukevaan
asentoon ja pysyttele koko ajan tasa­painossa. Pystyt silloin hallitsemaan laitteen

erityisesti yllättävissä tilanteissa.

f) Käytä sopivaa vaatetusta. Älä käytä

löysiä vaatteita äläkä pidä koruja.
Hiukset, vaatteet ja käsineet on pidet­tävä etäällä liikkuvista osista. Löysät

vaatteet, korut ja avonaiset hiukset voivat jäädä
kiinni liikkuviin osiin.

g) Jos laitteeseen asennetaan pölynimu-

ri-ja lastunkeruulaite, varmistu sitä
ennen, että osat on liitetty ja niitä
käytetään oikein. Näiden laitteiden liittä-

minen vähentää pölystä aiheutuvia vaaroja.

4. Sähkötyökalujen huolellinen
käsittely ja käyttö

a) Älä ylirasita laitetta. Käytä työssäsi

tätä työtä varten tarkoitettua sähkö­työkalua. Sopivan sähkötyökalun kanssa

työskentelet paremmin ja varmemmin sen teho­alueella.

b) Älä käytä mitään sähkötyökalua,

jonka käynnistyskytkin on viallinen.

Sähkötyökalu, jota ei voi enää kytkeä päälle
tai päältä, on vaarallinen ja se on korjattava.

c) Vedä pistoke pistorasiasta, ennen

kuin säädät laitetta, vaihdat lisäosia
tai panet laitteen varastoon. Nämä

varotoimenpiteet estävät sen, että laite käynnis­tyy vahingossa.

d) Säilytä sähkötyökaluja silloin, kun

niitä ei käytetä, lasten ulottumatto­missa. Älä anna henkilöiden käyttää
laitetta, jos he eivät tunne sitä tai
eivät ole lukeneet näitä käyttöohjeita.

Sähkötyökalut ovat vaarallisia, jos kokemattomat
henkilöt käyttävät niitä.

e)

Hoida laitetta huolellisesti. Tarkasta,

toimivatko sen liikkuvat osat moit­teettomasti ja että ne eivät jumitu;
tarkasta, onko joku osa katkennut tai

murtunut tai vahingoittunut niin, että
se haittaa laitteen toimintaa. Korjauta
vialliset osat aina ennen kuin käytät
laitetta. Moni tapaturma johtuu huonosti

huolletuista sähkötyökaluista.

f) Pidä terät terävinä ja puhtaina.

Huolella hoidetut leikkuuterät terävine leikkuu­reunoineen eivät juutu niin helposti kiinni
työkappaleeseen ja ne toimivat kevyemmin.

g) Käytä sähkötyökaluja, lisätarvikkeita,

käyttötarvikkeita jne. tässä esitettyjen
määräysten mukaisesti ja aina erityis­tä tyyppiä vastaavasti. Ota huomioon
työolosuhteet ja työ. Sähkötyökalujen

käyttö muuhun kuin sille määrättyyn tarkoituk­seen voi aiheuttaa vaarallisia tilanteita.



Kaikkien käyttöjen

turvallisuusohjeet

Yhteiset turvallisuusohjeet hiontaan,
hiontaan hiekkapaperilla, teräsharjan
käyttöön, kiillottamiseen ja katkaisuhio­miseen:

a) Tätä sähkötyökalua voidaan käyttää

hiomakoneena, hiontaan hiekkapa­perilla, teräsharjana, kiillotuslaitteena
ja katkaisuhiomakoneena. Noudata
kaikkia turvallisuusohjeita ja muita
ohjeita sekä huomioi kaikki esitykset
ja tiedot, jotka saat laitteen mukana.

Seuraavien ohjeiden noudattamatta jättämises­tä voi olla seurauksena sähköisku, tulipalo ja /
tai vakavia loukkaantumisia.

b) Normatiivista lausetta / ohjetta ei voida käyttää

tälle työkalulle.

c) Älä käytä mitään lisävarusteita, joita

valmistaja ei ole tarkoittanut erityisesti
tähän sähkötyökaluun. Vaikka jokin vie-

rasvarusteinen lisävaruste sopisikin sähkötyöka­luusi, se ei välttämättä ole turvallinen käyttää.

d) Työkalulle ilmoitetun kierrosluvun on

oltava vähintään sama kuin sähkötyö­kalun suurin sallittu pyörintänopeus.

Jos työkalu pyörii ylinopeudella, se voi repeytyä
tai singota pois paikoiltaan.

e) Sähkötyökalun ulkohalkaisija- ja vah-

vuusmittojen on oltava sähkötyöka­luun sopivat. Jos työkalu on vääränmittainen,

sitä ei voida suojata eikä valvoa riittävästi.

f) Hiomalaikkojen, laipan, hiomalautasen

tai muiden lisävarusteiden on oltava
tarkasti sähkötyökalun hiomakaraan
sopivat. Jos työkalun reikä ei mitaltaan sovi

tarkasti hiomakaraan, työkalu pyörii epätasaisesti
ja tärisee voimakkaasti, jolloin konetta on vaikea
hallita työstön aikana.

g) Älä käytä vioittuneita hiomatyökaluja.

Tarkista aina ennen töiden aloittamista
työkalun, hiomalaikan ja hiomalauta­sen kunto ja ettei niissä ole kulumia,
halkeamia, säröjä eikä muita mahdol­lisia vikoja Tarkista samoin teräksisen
harjan kunto ja etteivät teräsharjakset
ole irronneet tai katkenneet. Jos säh­kötyökalu tai hiomatyökalu on pääs­syt putoamaan, tarkista ettei se ole
vioittunut, tai käytä ehjää työkalua.
Kun käytettävä työkalu on kunnossa
ja otettu käyttöön, on katsottava, että
konetta käyttävä tai muut lähellä ole­vat henkilöt eivät mene liian lähelle
pyörivää hiomatyökalua. Sen jälkeen
kone voidaan käynnistää ja sen an­netaan pyöriä noin minuutin ajan suu­rimmalla kierrosluvulla. Viallinen käyt-

töönotettu työkalu halkeaa normaalisti jo
koekäytön aikana.

Käytä henkilökohtaista suo-

javarustusta. Käytä tilanteen

aativia suojavarusteita, kute

täyttä kasvosuojainta, silmäsuojaimia

tai suojalaseja. Käytä tarvittaessa
hengityssuojainta, kuulosuojainta,
suojakäsineitä tai erikoisesiliinaa, joka
pitää hionnassa syntyneet ja materi­aalihiukkaset loitolla. Silmät on suojattava

leijuvalta hiomapölyltä ja sinkoilevilta hiukkasil­ta, joita syntyy eri käyttötilanteissa. Pöly-tai hen­gityssuojaimessa on oltava suodatin, joka pys­tyy suodattamaan hiomapölyn. Jatkuva
melurasite on vaarallista, se voi johtaa kuulo­vammaan.

i) Huolehdi siitä, että muut henkilöt

ovat turvallisella etäisyydellä työalu­eesta. Kaikkien työalueella oleskele­vien on käytettävä henkilökohtaista
suojavarustusta. Työkappaleesta tai rikki-

näisestä hiomatyökalusta irtoavia osia voi singota
sekä työalueella että sen ympäristössä ja aihe­uttaa työtapaturman vaaran.

j) Tartu laitteeseen aina pelkästään eris-

tetyistä kohdista, jos on olemassa
vaara, että työkalu koskettaa työstön
aikana joko piilossa olevia sähköjoh­toja tai koneen liitäntäjohtoja. Jos hio-

matyökalu pyöriessään koskettaa jännitteellistä
johtoa, se voi johtaa jännitteen koneen metallio­siin, jolloin konetta käyttävä voi saada sähköiskun.

k) Pidä sähköjohto loitolla pyörivistä

hiomatyökaluista. Jos laitteen hallinta me­netetään, pyörivä hiomatyökalu saattaa katkaista
liitäntäjohdon tai johto voi jäädä siihen kiinni,
jolloin kädet tai käsivarret ovat vaarassa joutua
pyörivään työkaluun.

l) Laske sähkötyökalu käsistäsi vasta

sitten, kun hiomalaikka on lakannut
kokonaan pyörimästä. Jos hiomatyökalu

pyörii vielä ja koskettaa alustaa, sähkötyökalun
hallinta voidaan menettää.

m) Älä koskaan anna sähkötyökalun

pyöriä, kun liikut sen kanssa. Pyörivä
työkalu saattaa huomaamatta tulla liian lähelle
kehoa ja takertua vaatteisiin.

n) Puhdista sähkötyökalun ilmanvaihto-

aukot säännöllisesti. Moottorin puhallin
vetää metallipitoista pölyä koneen sisään ja
voimakas pölyn kerääntyminen voi aiheuttaa
sähkövaaroja.

o)

Älä käytä sähkötyökalua

paikassa, missä on ympärillä
palavaa materiaalia. Kipinöinti

voi sytyttää nämä materiaalit palamaan.
p) Älä käytä työkaluja, jotka vaativat

nestejäähdytyksen. Veden tai muiden
nestemäisten aineiden käyttö jäähdytykseen
voi aiheuttaa sähköiskun.



Jos kone iskee takaisin -

turvallisuusohjeet käyttäjälle

Takaisku on äkillinen reaktio, jos pyörivä hiomatyö­kalu, kuten hiomalaikka, hiomalautanen, metalliharja
jne. takertuu tai juuttuu kiinni. Takertuminen ja kiinni­juuttuminen pysäyttävät hiomatyökalun äkillisesti.
Tästä syystä käsistä karannut sähkötyökalu voi pyö­rivän liikkeen juuttumisen seurauksena heittää konetta
vastakkaiseen suuntaan.

Kun esimerkiksi hiomalaikka juuttuu tai tarttuu työ­kappaleeseen, voi hiomalaikan reuna, joka pureutuu
työkappaleeseen, tarttua materiaaliin, josta seu­rauksena hiomalaikka ponnahtaa irti tai aiheuttaa
takaiskun. Hiomalaikka voi sitten pyörimissuunnasta
riippuen juuttuessaan ponnahtaa joko konetta käyt­tävän suuntaan tai hänestä pois päin. Tällöin hio­malaikat voivat myös murtua.

Jos laite iskee takaisin, se on merkki siitä, että säh­kötyökalua on käytetty väärin tai virheellisesti. Tämä
voidaan välttää, kun noudatetaan seuraavassa esi­tettyjä sopivia varotoimenpiteitä.

a) Pidä sähkötyökalua tukevassa ottees-

sa ja katso, että keho ja käsivarret
ovat asennossa, jossa takaiskun mah­dollisesti aiheuttamat voimat voidaan
hallita. Käytä aina lisäkahvaa, mikäli
se on käytettävissä, jolloin takaiskun
ja tai reaktiomomentin aiheuttamat
voimat voidaan käynnistysvaiheessa
saada parhaiten hallintaan. Koneen

käyttäjä osaa sopivilla turvatoimenpiteillä halli­ta takaisku- ja reaktiovoimat.

b) Kädet eivät koskaan saa joutua liian

lähelle pyöriviä hiomatyökaluja. Takais­kun sattuessa hiomatyökalu voi satuttaa käsiä.

c) Vältä joutumasta alueelle, jossa säh-

kötyökalu liikkuu takaiskun sattuessa.
Takaisku heittää sähkötyökalua juuttumiskohdas­ta käsin hiomalaikan pyörimissuuntaa vastaan.

d) Erityisen varovainen on oltava, jos

työkohde on nurkassa tai siinä on te­räviä reunoja jne. Estä hiomatyökalun
ponnahtaminen työkappaleesta tai
sen juuttuminen. Pyörivä hiomatyöka-

lu pyrkii juuttumaan tai luiskahtamaan
nurkissa, terävissä reunoissa. Tämä ai-

heuttaa koneen hallinnan menettämisen tai kone
voi iskeä takaisin.

e) Älä käytä ketju- tai hammastettua sa-

hanterää. Tämäntyyppiset työkalut aiheutta­vat usein takaiskun tai sähkötyökalun hallinnan
menettämisen.



Erityisiä turvallisuusohjeita

hiontaan ja katkaisutöihin

a) Käytä ainoastaan sähkötyökaluun

hyväksyttyjä hiomalaikkoja ja näihin
hiomalaikkoihin tarkoitettuja suojuk­sia. Hiomalaikkoja, jotka eivät ole tarkoitettu

sähkötyökaluun, ei voida suojata riittävästi ja
ne ovat vaaraksi työstön aikana.

b) Suojus on kiinnitettävä kunnolla säh-

kötyökalulle ja turvalliseen asentoon,
jossa se peittää laikan mahdollisim­man tehokkaasti ja tarjoaa parhaan
mahdollisen suojan koneen käyttäjälle.

Suojuksen on suojattavaa käyttöhenkilöä rikki­näisiltä, sinkoilevilta osilta ja tahattomalta kos­ketukselta hiomalaikkaan.

c) Hiomalaikkoja saadaan käyttää vain

suositeltuun käyttötarkoitukseen. Esi­merkiksi: Älä koskaan hio sivupintoja
katkaisulaikalla. Katkaisulaikat on tarkoi-

tettu materiaalin poistamiseen laikan reunalla.
Voimankäyttö sivulta tähän hiomalaikkaan voi
murtaa sen.

d) Käytä hiomatyökalun kanssa aina

oikean kokoista ja muotoista uuden­veroista pidinlaippaa valitsemaasi
hiomalaikkaan. Oikein valitut laipat suo-

jaavat hiomalaikkaa, jolloin hiomalaikan hal­keamisriski on pienempi. Laipat eroavat toisistaan
siitä riippuen, onko ne tarkoitettu katkaisu - vai
hiomalaikkoihin.

e) Älä koskaan käytä suurempiin sähkö-

työkaluihin tarkoitettuja kuluneita
hiomalaikkoja. Suurempiin sähkötyökaluihin

suunnitellut hiomalaikat eivät sovellu kevyempi­en sähkötyökalujen kierrosnopeuksiin ja ne
voivat haljeta työstön aikana.



Erityisiä katkaisuhiontaa

koskevia turvallisuusohjeita

a) On varottava, ettei katkaisulaikka

pääse juuttumaan kiinni, sitä ei myös­kään saa painaa liikaa. Älä leikkaa
liian syvään. Katkaisulaikan ylikuormitus

saattaa johtaa laikan vääntymiseen tai sen
juuttumiseen, jolloin kone iskee takaisin ja hio­malaikka voi murtua.

b) Vältä aluetta pyörivän katkaisulaikan

edessä ja takana. Jos johdat katkaisulaikkaa
työkappaleessa kehosta poispäin, sähkötyöka­lu voi takaiskun sattuessa ponnahtaa pyörivin
kiekoin suoraan kehoon päin.

c) Katkaise virta koneesta, jos katkaisu-

laikka juuttuu kiinni tai keskeytät työt.
Pidä konetta paikallaan, kunnes laikka
on pysähtynyt kokonaan. Älä koskaan
yritä vetää pyörivää katkaisulaikkaa
irti työkappaleesta, koska kone voi
silloin iskeä takaisin. Tarkista, mikä sai

laikan juuttumaan kiinni ja korjaa syy.

d) Älä käynnistä sähkötyökalua, kun

laikka on vielä työkappaleessa. Anna
laikan ensin saavuttaa täysi kierros­nopeus ja jatka vasta sitten varoen
leikkaamista. Muussa tapauksessa laikka

voi juuttua, ponnahtaa irti työkappaleesta tai
aiheuttaa takaiskun.

e) Tue levyjä tai työkappaleita, se pie-

nentää juuttuneen katkaisulaikan
aiheuttamaa takaiskuriskiä. Suuriko­koiset työkappaleet voivat taipua
omasta painostaan. Työkappaleen alle on

hyvä asettaa tuet laikan molemmin puolin sekä
leikkuulaikan lähelle että myös reunaan.

f) Noudata erityistä varovaisuutta, kun

leikkuukohde on seinässä tai kohdas­sa, joka ei ole kokonaan näkyvissä.

Katkaisulaikka voi osua kaasu- tai vesijohtoihin,
sähköjohtoihin tai muihin esteisiin ja aikaansaa­da takaiskun.

Eritysturvallisuusohjeet

hiekkapaperilla hiontaan

 Älä käytä liian suuria hiomapapereita,

vaan seuraa hiomapaperin valmista­jan antamia ohjeita. Hiomapaperi, joka

ulottuu hiomalautasen reunan yli, voi aiheuttaa
loukkaantumisia, juuttua kiinni, revetä tai ai­kaansaada takaiskun.



Erityiset turvallisuusohjeet

kiillotustöihin

 Kiillotussuojuksen irralliset osat, eten-

kin kiinnitysnuorat, ovat kiellettyjä
Peitä tai lyhennä kiinnitysnuorat. Irral-

liset, mukana pyörivät kiinnitysnuorat voivat
tarttua sormiin tai työkappaleeseen.



Erityiset turvallisuusohjeet

teräsharjoilla työskentelyyn

a) Teräsharjakset voivat irrota harjasta

myös normaalikäytön aikana. Teräshar-

jaa ei pidä painaa liian voimakkaasti työstön
aikana. Teräsharjakset voivat tarttua hyvin hel­posti kevyeen vaatetukseen ja / tai lävistää ihon.

b) Jos työ vaatii hiomasuojuksen käyt-

töä, on estettävä ettei teräsharja saa
koskettaa suojusta. Lautas- ja kuppiharjojen

halkaisija voi kuormituksen ja keskipakoisvoimien
vaikutuksesta suurentua.

Jos työskentelet
ulkona, käytä laitteen yhteydessä
FI-suojakytkintä (max. 30 mA). Käytä ai-

noastaan ulkokäyttöön tarkoitettua jatkojohtoa.

 Älä kanna tai ripusta laitetta virtajoh-

dosta. Vie virtajohto laitteelle aina
takakautta. Laite voi muuten vahingoittua.

 Laikkojen säilytyksessä ja käytössä

on noudatettava niiden valmistajien
antamia ohjeita. Nämä voivat muuten

vahingoittua.

 Käytä ja käsittele hiontatyökaluja nii-

den valmistajien ohjeiden mukaisesti.

Nämä voivat muuten irrota laitteesta ja aiheuttaa
loukkaantumisia ja / tai aineellisia vahinkoja.

 Käytä laikkojen kanssa tarvittaessa

sovitelaippoja.



Älä yritä sovittimien tms. avulla käyttää
laitteessa laikkoja, joiden reikäkoko
on ylisuuri.



Varmista kierteellistä hiomavälinettä
käyttäessäsi, että kierre on laitteen
karan pituuden kanssa yhteensopiva.

Hiomalaikat voivat muuten irrota laitteesta ja
aiheuttaa loukkaantumisia ja / tai aineellisia
vahinkoja.

 Älä käytä laitetta sellaisiin työkappa-

leisiin, joiden on syytä epäillä olevan
yhteydessä sähkö-, kaasu- tai vesijoh­toihin. Varmista ennen työskentelyn
aloittamista mahdollisten työkohtees­sa piilossa olevien johdinten sijainti.

Sähköjohtimiin koskeminen saattaa aiheuttaa
tulipalon ja sähköiskun vaaran. Kaasujohdon
vaurioitumisesta saattaa olla seurauksena rä­jähdys. Vesijohdon rikkoutuminen saattaa aihe­uttaa vesivaurioita tai sähköiskun vaaran.



VAROLTUS!

JÄ! Hiontatyössä syntyvät pölyt saattavat olla

terveydelle vaarallisia.

 Jos metalli- ja kivimateriaalien työs-

tössä syntyy terveydelle haitallisia

pyörimisnopeus on kulmahiomakoneen
nimellispyörintänopeuden kanssa yhtä
suuri tai sitä suurempi.

 Huomioi laikan pyörimissuunta ja pidä

laitetta aina siten, että kipinä- ja pö­lysuihku suuntautuu itsestäsi poispäin.

Muussa tapauksessa uhkaa loukkaantumisvaara.

 Varmista, että käytettävä laikka on

laitteeseen sopivan kokoinen ja että
laikan reiän halkaisija on laitteen kiin­nityslaipan

kanssa yhteensopiva.



Työskentelyohjeita

Huomio! Hiontavälineitä saa käyttää vain niille
tarkoitetuille materiaaleille. Ohjeidenvastainen käyttö
saattaa aiheuttaa välinevaurioita ja loukkaantumis­riskejä.

Älä koskaan käytä

katkaisulaikkoja hiontaan!

 Paina laikkaa kevyesti työkappaletta

vasten ja liikuta kulmahiomakonetta
pitkittäisin liikkein edestakaisin.



Pidä hiomalaikkaa pehmeitä materiaa­leja työstäessäsi pienessä kulmassa

työkappaleen päällä, jyrkennä hieman
kulmaa kovempia materiaaleja varten.

Katkaisuhionta:

Älä koskaan käytä

hiomalaikkoja katkaisuun!

 Käytä ainoastaan hyväksyttyjä kuitu-

vahvistettuja katkaisulaikkoja, joiden

sallittu kehänopeus on vähintään 80 m / s.

VAROITUS! Laikan pyörintäliike ei pysähdy heti

virran katkaisun jälkeen. Älä pysäytä laikkaa
painamalla.

 Varmista, että työkappale on tukevasti

kiinni. Kiinnitä työkappale ruuvipenkkiin tai

käytä muuta tukevaa kiinnitysjärjestelyä. Näin
työkappale pysyy tukevammin kiinni kuin pel­kästään käsin pidettäessä.

 Sammuta laite heti työskentelyn pää-

tyttyä ja odota, että laikka pysähtyy.



Jos laitteen syöttövirta katkeaa tai
pistoke irtoaa pistorasiasta, vapauta
heti käyttökytkin. Siirrä käyttökytkin heti

OFF-asentoon. Näin estät laitteen tahattoman
käynnistymisen.

 Laitetta saa käyttää ainoastaan kui-

vahiontaan ja - katkaisuun.

Asbestipitoisten materiaalien käsittely
on kielletty. Asbestin on todettu aiheut­tavan syöpää.

VAROITUS!

Liikuta laitetta
työkappaletta vasten poi­kittain nähden. Laitetta pitkit-

täin liikutettaessa on olemassa

takaiskun vaara.

 Käynnistä laite aina ennen kuin viet sen

työkappaletta vasten. Nosta työstön jäl-

keen laite pois työkappaleelta ja sammuta laite.

 Pidä aina kulmahiomakoneella työs-

kennellessäsi laitteesta kiinni tukevasti
molemmin käsin (katso myös kuva D).

Varmista, että työasentosi on tukeva.
