Do not allow other person to use your mobile phone without your permission. If the phone gets lost or stolen, contact your service provider immediately. There are two LCD displays: internal and external LCDs. One displays a group of icons to show the phone status, while the other shows messages, telephone numbers, icons, or other information.
Main LCD Display
An icon is displayed when a certain function is activated or a message is received. The figure above displays a list of all the possible icons that may be positioned at the top of the screen. The function of each icon is described below.

In standby mode with the phone flip closed, you can adjust the time displayed in the external LCD by using the [Vol Down] key. Analog and Digital times appear alternatively. If you press the [Vol Up] [Vol Down] or [SIDE CAMERA] key for a moment, the backlight of the external LCD turns on. If you long press the [SIDE CAMERA] key when the phone flip is closed, the external LCD will perform the camera preview function.
Flash ON
You can use the camera flash as an emergency light.
1) If you keep pressing the [Vol Up] key for a while in standby mode, the flash turns on.
2) Stop pressing the [Vol Up] key in order to turn off the flash.

Press one of the four keys (left, right, up, and down) to move the cursor from the Menu list of editor. During a call, press the [Up] key to view the list of recent calls received or the [Down] key to view the list of calls you could not answer. If you press this key on the idle screen, you can easily access the Phonebook, Sound Setting, SMS, or My Menu, (Hot Folder) Menus.
Press this key to adjust the volume during conversation. When the phone flip is closed, these keys perform Flash and External LCD related tasks.

In order for you to use the phone the first time, you must follow the steps shown below. Install the SIM card inside the handset. When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provided with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription information (such as PIN number, available optional services, etc.) If necessary, turn off your phone by pressing and holding the [ ] key until the power-off message appears.
1. Remove the battery from the phone.
2. Check the SIM slot is empty and install the SIM card into the slot.
3. If you wish to remove the SIM card, push it in the arrow direction shown in the picture below.

Installing the Battery
As shown in the picture below, fix the part where the metal groove of the battery is located into the groove at the bottom of the handset.
1. Insert the part where the metal groove of the battery is located into the groove at the bottom of the handset.
2. Then press the top of the battery until it snaps.
Charging the Battery
Your phone is powered by a charged Li-ton battery. Use only authorized batteries and chargers. Ask your phone dealer for more information. You may use the phone while the battery is charging. In case the battery has been installed in the phone, open the cover the power adaptor connectors at the bottom of the phone, and connect the adaptor, which has been supplied together with the phone, to the outlet of the power adaptor connectors. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the adaptor from the connector.

Press and hold the [ ] key to turn your phone on. When the “Insert SIM card” message appears on the screen, insert the SIM card into the SIM slot. Enter your PIN number (up to 8 characters) to unlock the handset (if applicable). If a wrong PIN number has been entered, the search for the subscribed network will start automatically. In idle mode, enter the phone number with the area code. Then, press the [ ] key to place a call. If you wish to place an international call, press and hold the [ ] key until the “+” symbol appears on the screen. Then, dial the country code, area code and telephone number. For a pause of approximately 2 seconds, you can insert the “P” pause symbol between each code and telephone number by pressing and holding the [ ] key. You can make emergency calls without a SIM. To make a n emergency call, enter the emergency number and press [ ].

When the phone rings a melody or vibrates, the screen will display the name or telephone number of the caller, provided that you are subscribed to your telecommunications service provider for such service. The caller’s name will be displayed only when his/her telephone number and name are archived in the phonebook. If you wish to answer a call in normal mode, simply press the [ ] key. If the answer mode is set to [Any Key], you can answer a call by pressing any key except the [ ] key.

During a call, if you wish to adjust the earpiece volume, use the volume key on the side of the phone to select the desired level from 8 different levels.

To input a number, press the number keypad associated with the number you wish to input. To input a number in the phone, you must be in “T9” mode (i.e. Phone book, Message). For more details, please refer to the “T9” page. If you would like to delete a wrongly inputted letter, press the [ ] key and to delete an entire line of text, press and hold the [ ] key. If you press and hold the [ ] key, all the letters in the screen will be deleted.

There are two ways to make a call from the initial screen. The general method is to dial the destination number and press the [ ] key; the other is to use the Speed Dial function. The Speed Dial allows you to make a call quickly without dialing the actual phone number. If the index number which is allocated to each phone number saved in the Phone Book is within the range of 2~9, simply press and hold the index associated with the phone number that you wish to call. Or you can enter [ ] key and then the number key that corresponds with the index number, and then press [ ] to call the number. If the index number is within the range of 10~99, enter the two numbers of the index with the number key and then press the [ ] key. Then the phone will attempt to call the phone number associated with the two-digit index number.
For example, if the index number is [ ], simply press and hold that index shown in the Phone Book. Or you can enter [ ] and [ ] keys and then press [ ] to call the number. If the index number is 34, press the number keys [ ] and [ ], and then press the [ ] key. The range of index numbers available for Speed Dial is 2 to 99. 1key is the hot key for Voice mail.

You can make an emergency call by entering the emergency number and then pressing the [ ] key. If you are within the GSM network range, you may make emergency phone calls in any country whether a SIM card has been installed in your phone or not.

In case you missed a call due to certain reasons, your phone displays a call message indicating that you missed a call. If you wish to call back the number of the missed call, select: [MENU]fi[Call logs]fi[Missed calls]. Then select the number by using the [ / ] key, which you wish to call back, and press the [ ] key. Your phone will place a call to that number automatically.

Each of the above functions is described below. Phonebook - During a call, you can search the phone book to find
the name of a desired person. Messages - You can send SMS/EMS during a call. Hold - You may take another call while putting the currently active
call on hold. End current - Ends the current call. Mute On - This option prevents the other party from hearing your
conversation with another.

In the T9 English editor, basic usage is the same as using a computer keypad. For example, to write ‘hello’, type [ ][ ][ ][ ] [ ] where each number represents an alphabet. If you cannot find the desired character, you can get a list of candidate characters by pressing the [ ] key. To shift between lower case and upper case letters, press [ ].Press [ ] to insert a period and [ ] to insert a space. Use the [ ]/[ ] key to navigate through different input modes. To change to the T9 symbol mode, press and hold [ ].To change to T9 symbol mode, press and hold [ ] key.

Multi-tap English
You can enter special English words such as names, nicknames, abbreviations, etc. T9 English has a dictionary function with which you can look up desired words. As with any other mobile phone, candidate words will automatically show up after you input the first few characters. You may use the [ ] key to switch between lower case and upper case letters, and also to move to the T9 mode.

EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) is built based on SMS (Short Message Service). You can create a text message (SMS) including pictures, animation, melodies, messages, and emotions through EMS. The characteristics of the lettering can also be adjusted.
Before getting started
First, check whether the service center number has been set up. This number is usually provided by your service provider and saved in the SIM card.

Inbox (received messages)

If you press the [ ] key after selecting the ‘Inbox’ Menu, the list will then be displayed. The list displays caller’s numbers corresponding to the names saved in the Phone Book.
Press the [ ] key to select the message from the list of the

The selected message appears. If the message includes any

items, when positioning the cursor at the item, for Animated parts, it moves and for Melodies, it makes sounds.
If you press the [ ] key, Menus such as ‘Edit’, ‘Delete’,

Outbox (sent messages)

Sending Messages

Receiving messages
When you receive a message, you will be alerted by a bell sound, and a “received message” animation will run on the screen. The number of messages received will then be displayed on the idle screen. (If you receive a message with multiple pages, the alert will

sound when the last page is received.)

Messages stored in the SIM card
Received messages are stored in the SIM card. If the memory has been fully occupied, you can no longer receive messages. In such case, an icon indicating that SIM memory has been fully occupied will be displayed on the idle screen. You can receive more messages by deleting stored messages.
Saving items in the Inbox
If messages include Pictures/Animations/Melodies/Messages/ Emoticons, you can save them in the Phone memory. (User defined items only.)
1. Place the cursor at the back of the item while checking messages.
2. You can set file name and directory by pressing the [ ] key.
3. Message is saved in the File system.
4. Saved items can be sent by selecting Insert item]
-[Picture/Animation/melody/Message]-[Load] under message created.
Limitation of pages in message creation
The maximum number of pages allowed for each message is 7 pages. Every time a page is completed and moved to the next page, a sign (i.e. SMS1) pops up.

MMS
MMS is a multi-media message to create and send which includes image files taken by camera or downloaded and sound files downloaded. The size allowed for each file is 32KB, and the total size of messages should not exceed 64KB.
Structure of Menu
MMS
- Create : new messages are created and sent.
- Inbox : displays received messages.
- Outbox : displays messages to be sent.
- Drafts : displays messages which have not been completed.
- Sent : displays sent messages.
- Archive : displays saved messages.
- Templates : displays applicable template when creating new messages.
MMS settings
- Save messages: decides whether all the sent messages should be saved in the Sent box.
- Delivery receipts: asks whether sent messages are delivered to receivers and decides whether delivery reports should be sent if received messages request it.
- Message center: sets the addresses of MMS center.
- WAP Profile: sets the configuration of WAP profile to be used when sending and receiving MMS messages.
- MMS life time : decides the life time of MMS messages created.
- MMS download :
Automatic : as soon as a new message arrives, it automatically
receives a message and informs you when it completes it.
On read : downloads a new message when you desire to read it.

- Spam filter: sets spam filter for the MMS messages set as °Advertisement°±.
Off : receives all the MMS messages
Prompt if spam: asks you whether spam messages should be downloaded.
Reject spam : does not receive all spam messages.
Creating and sending Multi-media messages
A new message can be written by selecting the ‘Create’ menu. If you select the ‘Create’ menu, the first page of MMS messages is displayed in the screen. At the top of the message page there is a status bar showing the information and status of pages. This indicates whether the current page includes sound, the order of pages, and the size of the message.
