Installation
■ Installing the backup battery in the base unit
A rechargeable Ni-Cd battery works as emergency power during a power
failure. The fully charged backup battery provides the base unit with 20
minutes operation. The battery is charged in the base unit while the AC
adaptor is connected. It takes 10 hours to charge fully.
Install the backup battery in the battery compartment, and close the cradle
cover.
• The battery cannot be overcharged.

The product you have purchased is powered by a nickel
cadmium battery which is recyclable.
At the end of its useful life, under various state and local laws, it
is illegal to dispose of this battery into your municipal waste
stream. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY for information on how to
recycle this battery.
