Handling precautions
•H you are taking the CO from a oold to a warm environment, moisture may form on the CD. Wipe mia off with a aoft, dry, lim-free cloth before using the CO.

• In me glove compartment or on the rear deck of an automobile

Using the AC adaptor
Connect the AC adaptor supplied.
•The conliguralKin of the AC adaptor differs according to ttie area.
•The unrt is in the standby conditinri wtien the AC
adaptor is connected. The prrnnary circuit is always live' as long as the AC adaptor is connected to an electrical oullet.
Using rechargeable batteries [not included)
Obtain Ihe optional rechargeable batteries, {page 6)
For United Kingdom:

For others:

Connect the AC adaptor

(UM-3) alkaline batlariaa.

This indicator flashes cn and off when fhe batteries are
almost oui of power. Power is cut off completely a ahorl while later.
Rscbargsable batteries: Recharge balteries. Dry-ceir batteries: Replace batteries with new ones.
•The length of time Iha unit will continue to oparate be­iween when the battery indicator starts flashing and when fhe power is cut off differs depending on the type of batteries used.
•The battery indicalor may not flash if rechargeable batteries other than those designated by Panasonic are used.

Using the car adaptor
The SL-SX221C comes with a oar adaptor. Be sure lo use ftie adaptor specially designad for this model. (Refer to the separate ir^fallaflon insiructfons.) Ba sure to obtain the car adaptor (SH-CDC9) for SL­SX270 and SL-SX220, available as an optional acoes­sory. The ear adaptor ear be used lo recharge Ihe unit's bat teries while in the car.
