Subject: Mega CD Changer Disc Feed Lever Bent

Symptom: CD cannot be played

Cause: When opening the CD front panel with the CD unit still moving

(FL display SEARCH), if the eject button is pressed this may result
in the Disc Feed Lever and the Disc Eject Lever hitting each other
causing the disc feed lever to bend.

Remedy: Refer to location of PCB for SA-CH64

Modification 1

1. Cut the foil between number 12 & number 14 of CN606.

2. Change Q700 to 2SC2785FETA.

3. Cut the foil about 1mm between R764 & Q700 (B).

4. Add resistor (1.2k Ω) between R764 & Q700 (B).

5. Solder one end of lead wire (21cm) to number 12 of CN606.

6. Solder the other end of lead wire (21cm) to R764.

7. Bond the lead wire (2 point).

Modification 2 Refer to diagram

1. Cut the foil about 1mm number 12 of CN606

2. Solder the jumper wire (10mm) between number 12 & number 14 foil of CN606.

3. Solder the lead wire (25cm) to number 12 of CN606.

4. Solder the double lead wire (without marking, 25cm) to Q461 (C) leg on main PCB.

5. Solder the double lead wire (with marking, 25cm) to Q461 (E) leg on main PCB.

6. Tie the lead wire (25cm) and the double lead wire (25cm) to the flat cable of CN501
with binder.
