ENGLISH

Thank you for purchasing the DVD-ROM Drive Pack for the Panasonic CF-37 notebook computer series.

When mounted in the multimedia pocket of the computer in place of a CD-ROM drive, this product functions as an internal DVD-ROM drive. Store this manual in a safe place after reading it.

/TNOTE>

When using a ZV card, a SMI VPM driver is required to play DVD-Video or MPEG2 files. Installing the SMI VPM driver "Reference Manual"

#The region code has been set to the following:

<CF-VDD372Z>

Set to "2".

s

Supplementary instructions for the Reference Manual

This section explains the case where the operation of computer differs from "CD-ROM/ DVD-ROM drive" in the Reference Manual.

In "Software Preparation (first time only)", the name of <DVD-ROM Drive> has been changed as following.

[MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR-8173] ^ [MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR-****]

Replace "Power-saving mode" for the following.

Power-saving mode

If the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive has not been accessed within 30 seconds (in the case of CD-ROM drive) or 90 seconds (in the case of DVD-ROM drive), the drive motor will automatically shut down to reduce the power consumption. When the CD-ROM drive is accessed once again, the power of the drive motor is turned on. However, approximately 30 seconds arc required until data is actually read from the disc.

The following procedure is needed, (first time only)

1 Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager].

2Select [Primary IDE Channel] in [IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers],

3Select [Advanced Settings], and set [Transfer Mode] in [Device 1] to [DMA if available].
