PC Cable-Check® Pro provides a simple check and wiring configuration for DB9, DB15, DB15 HD, DB 25, Centronics 36, Mini DIN 6 PS/2, Mini DIN 4 S-video, 4-pin & 6-pin 1394 FireWire, USB, Mini USB, RJ11 and shielded and unshielded RJ45 telephone plugs. In addition, RG58 or 59 BNC can be checked with a simple PASS or FAIL test with full diagnostic evaluation displayed if the cable fails.
Operating instructions:
|
Warning: Do not connect tester to live cables or computer systems! |
1 |
installed; switch ON. Use only |
|
a standard 9-volt battery. (Battery compartment is located on |
|
back of tester.) |
2Connect your cable to the corresponding connectors on the leftand right-hand sides of the tester.
3Press the CABLE MODE button repeatedly until the red LED indicates the proper connector size is selected.
4To begin testing, press the TEST button and hold it for 5 seconds to begin automatic cycling. If you prefer to use the unit manually, simply step through the testing process by pressing TEST for each pin. Unit automatically powers off after 30 seconds of non-use.
5The cable connection scheme is required to confirm the wiring configuration. Standard wiring configurations & cable applications can be found on the subsequent pages or consult your cable manufacturers’ manual.
6If you have a custom cable and need to determine the scheme,
use a “known good cable” and record the pin-out for your reference.
7 provided for sample reference only.
Contact the cable manufacturer for specific configuration schemes.
