INSTRUCTIONS

“OCH-RF” Series

WARNING

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should
always be taken to reduce the risk of fi re, electrical shock and
injury, including the following.

CAUTION

NON-RESIDENTIAL USE IN THE UNITED STATES

Read carefully these instructions before installation, operation

of the heater. Failure to adhere to the instructions could result in
fi re, electric shock, serious personal injury, and death or property
damage. Review frequently for continuing safe operation and
instruction of future users, if necessary.

To reduce the risk of fi re or electrical shock:

- To avoid possible electrical shock, disconnect all power
at the main panel prior to wiring, cleaning or servicing.

- Verify the power supply voltage coming to the heater matches
the heater nameplate rating before energizing heater.

- When installed, heater must be electrically grounded
in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

- Connect heater only to voltage and phase specifi ed
on nameplate.

- Field wiring must be properly sized to carry the amperage
of the heater.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

- Read all instructions before using this heater.

- This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let
bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials,
like furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains
at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them
away from the sides and rear.

- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by
or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.

- Do not use outdoors.

- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation
or exhaust opening as this may cause an electrical shock or fi re,
or damage the heater.

- To prevent a possible fi re, do not block air intakes or exhaust
in any way whatsoever.

- This heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not
use it in areas where gasoline, paint or fl ammable liquids
are used or stored.

- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use
not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fi re, electrical
shock, or injury to persons.

- Do not operate heater without fi xing it to its mounting bracket.

- This heater is not approved for use in corrosive atmospheres,
wet or very humid locations such as marine, green house
or chemical storage areas.

- To disconnect heater, rotate thermostat knob full counter­ clockwise, and turn off power to heater circuit at main
disconnect panel.

- Do not operate any heater after it malfunctions. Disconnect
power at service panel and have heater inspected by a reputable
electrician before reusing.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

- Not for residential use in USA.

- All wiring must be in accordance with national and local
electrical codes.

- The wiring connection must be made in a junction box
(not included).

- To prevent possible overheating keep at least 5 ft. (1.53 m)
clearance in front of heater.

- Keep combustible materials, like furniture, pillows, bedding,
papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front
of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.

- Wall or ceiling mounting.

- Install heater not less than 3 1/2 in. (90 mm) from the wall
and 6 in. (150 mm) from ceiling.

- Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or fl ammable
liquids are used or stored.

- Heater may be mounted for horizontal air discharge only.

- Maximum mounting height: 8 ft. (2.44 m).

- The wall or the ceiling must be able to support the combined
weight of the heater and the mounting bracket 11 lbs (5 kg).

- Fix the bracket to the wall or the ceiling structural members
with the supply screws. DO NOT USE KEYHOLE SLOTS.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT

This heater has an Automatic reset thermal high-limit that
will deenergize the heating elements if the interior temperature
of the heater exceeds its setting. The fan will continue to run
until the residual heat is removed from the heater. The limit will
automatically reset when the heater interior temperatures fall
below its setting.

Locate heater properly.
To turn on heater:

- Rotate thermostat knob full clockwise. The fan will start
and the element will heat.

- When the desired temperature is reached, turn the thermostat
counter-clockwise slowly till the fan stop. To set the room
temperature, turn slowly the thermostat clockwise
or counter-clockwise.

To turn off heater:

- Rotate thermostat knob full counter-clockwise and disconnect
all power at the main panel.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

- The heater motor is permanently lubricated.

- Occasional cleaning of the inlet grille will prevent clogging.
Use a vacuum with a brush attachment.

- Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized
service representative.

- Disconnect all power at the main panel prior to cleaning
or servicing.

WARRANTY

OUELLET CANADA INC. warrants the component parts of its
products against defects in material and workmanship for a one
(1) year period following the date of purchase, under normal use
and service, when proof of purchase of such is provided to the
manufacturer. The obligation of Ouellet Canada Inc., under the
terms of this warranty, will be to supply a new unit and this omits
the manufacturer to bear the installation costs or other secondary
charges linked to replacing the unit or the component part(s).
