IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces, use the handles.
3. To protect against electric shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
4. Close supervision is always necessary when this or any appliance is used by or near children.
5. To disconnect, remove plug form electrical outlet.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate this or any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to an Authorized Service Center for examination, repair or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause re, electrical shock or injury.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven or in a microwave oven.
12. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
13. When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation. On surfaces where heat may cause a problem, an insulated hot pad is recommended.
14. Do not leave unit unattended during use.

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If the plug ts loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm do not use that outlet.
EXTENSION CORD USE
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in its use. If an extension cord is used, the electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

HOW TO:
USING YOUR OSTER® WAFFLE MAKER
Preparing your wae maker for use
1 Open unit by lifting the upper handle. 2 Before using for the rst time, clean cooking plates with cloth
or sponge, dampened with hot, soapy water. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER. Rinse with dampened cloth or sponge and wipe dry.
Preparing waes
1 Close unit and plug into outlet. Use only voltage specied on
bottom of unit. The Power indicator (Red) will illuminate immediately when unit is plugged in. The Ready indicator (Green) will illuminate when desired cooking temperature is achieved. NOTE: This Ready indicator will cycle on and o to provide the best cooking temperatures. Caution: Touch unit only by handles during use or directly after use.
2 Temperature Control Dial settings range from min for light
waes to max for dark waes.
3 When the proper baking temperature is reached, the green
light will go on. Once heated up, cycle times will be faster.
4 Open unit and pour batter onto
bottom grid of wae maker. Ladle just enough batter to ll lower grid so that the peak area of the grid is covered. If necessary, use a spatula to spread the batter in to the corners of the grid. For best results, pour batter in a circle around outer edge of wae maker. (See Illustration) Close cover. At this point the green light will go o as the
