when the switch is o. To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:

1. Do not install or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a bathtub or
sink.

2. Always unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using
and before cleaning.

3. Do not use while bathing.

4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.

5. If appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into water.

use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

3. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped or damaged or if it has been dropped into
water. Take it to the nearest Authorized Oster Service Center for repairs and/or
adjustments.

4. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

5. Never use while sleeping.

6. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

7. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used,
or where oxygen is being administered.

8. The unit may be hot during use. Allow it to cool before handling. To avoid burn
hazard, do not let bare-skin touch heated surfaces.

9. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.

10. Do not wrap cord around appliance. Continuous stress on the cord can damage
cord insulation and result in a shock, re or burn hazard.

11. Do not operate this appliance with a voltage converter or extension cord.

12. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.

CAUTION: Please be aware that your hair straightener can become very HOT! Do not
touch on, above or around the ceramic-coated plates.

The illustrations used in these instructions may dier slightly from the actual unit
supplied.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Floating plates (for models HCSTPRHS11-049 & HCSTPRHS33-049 only) 25mm

plates that prevent hair damage by causing less pulling and stress on the hair.

Ceramic and tourmaline technology results in silky, shiny and straight hair.

Ionic technology (for models HCSTPRHS22-049 & HCSTPRHS33-049 only) may help

to enhance and condition your hair. The ionic feature may help to rejuvenate your
hair leaving it soft and shiny.

On/o power switch/button.

Adjustable temperature control wheel (for model HCSTPRHS22-049 only) / Digital

heat control with temperature display (for model HCSTPRHS33-049 only) allows to
easily select the correct temperature for all hair types.

Close lock function protects plates from scratches and damage during storage.

360° swivel cord easily maintains a tangle free cord.

Convenient 1.8-meter cord.

HOW TO USE

Your best looks begin with a good haircut that is well maintained. You should always
treat your hair with the best quality shampoos, conditioners and styling products.

This hair straightener is a powerful styling tool and must always be used with
care. To avoid damage to your hair do not use hair straightener frequently. Always
select a temperature setting that is suitable for your hair type (HCSTPRHS22-049/
HCSTPRHS33-049 only).

IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT REACHES SALON HIGH TEMPERATURES.

ENSURE THE HAIR STRAIGHTENER ARMS ARE FULLY OPEN DURING THE HEATING
CYCLE. IF THE ARMS ARE IN THE LOCKED POSITION, PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON

TO UNLOCK THEM.

1. Plug your hair straightener into a wall electric outlet. There is no need to preheat
your hair straightener. Always place your hair straightener on a solid, at, stable,
heat resistant surface. Do not place your hair straightener on a soft or uneven
surface such as a carpet, bedding or rug and never cover your hair straightener. The
plates reach high temperatures very quickly.

For models HCSTPRHS11-049/HCSTPRHS22-049:

2. Switch your at iron on using the on/o switch. The power light will illuminate and
the plates will rapidly heat up.

3. For model HCSTPRHS22-049, select the temperature setting for your hair type
using the variable temperature control (140-230°C).

For model HCSTPRHS33-049:

2. Press the on/o button to switch your hair straightener on. The 150°C light will
light up. This is the default temperature setting.

3. To select a dierent temperature, press the increase (+) or decrease (-) temperature
buttons to select the desired setting for your hair type (150°C-230°C). The selected
temperature will blink in 3 seconds and then stop blinking to conrm selection.
NOTE: HCSTPRHS33-049 includes a temperature lock feature. The selected
temperature will be locked in 3 seconds automatically if there is no further press
on the increase/decrease (+/-) buttons. To unlock, simply press the increase (+) and
then the decrease (-) buttons to select a new temperature again.

HOW TO USE

4. Separate a section of hair approximately 5 cm in width and smooth it out with a
brush.

5. Place the chosen section of hair between the plates of your hair straightener and
close the plates. Take care not to touch the plates, which are very hot with your
ngertips.

6. Hold the hair straightener in place until the section of hair is fully heated. This will
be almost instantaneous.

7. Once your hair is heated, carefully slide the plates in one smooth movement all the
way down to the ends of your hair while holding it tight.

8. Keep the section of hair smooth while you work in order to avoid ridges and kinks.

9. Switch o and unplug your hair straightener immediately after use. Allow
it to completely cool down before storing. For model HCSTPRHS11-049
& HCSTPRHS22-049, switch o by sliding the On/O Switch. For model
HCSTPRHS33-049, switch o by pressing and holding the on/o button for 1-2
seconds.

CAUTION: The plates of your hair straightener may still be very hot even after it is switched
o. Allow your hair straightener to cool down fully before touching it or putting it away.

STYLING GUIDE

Step 1: Wash hair with your favorite shampoo and conditioner.

Step 2: After washing the hair, towel dry hair.

Step 3: Comb or brush your hair so that it is detangled and smooth.

Step 4: Use a comb to divide the hair into sections. Do not put too much hair in one

section.

Step 5: Before you begin to hair straightener the hair, ensure that your hair is

completely dry. You may air dry the hair or to speed up the process blow-dry
it with your favorite OsterTM hair dryer.

NOTE: We recommend to section o the crown area and to straighten the

hair underneath rst, followed by the top area.

Step 6: Begin by taking a section of hair and placing it in between the plates, press

the handles rmly together and glide down. Slide the hair straightener
down the length of the hair within 5 seconds, from the roots to the end of
the hair, without stopping.

Step 7: Repeat this process throughout the dierent sections of the hair from the

back of the head to the front of the head and nish o in the front at the
bangs section until you have achieved the desired results. Once you have
nished let your hair cool down. Do not comb or brush it until it has cooled
down, unless you would like to change the style you have just created.

Hints and Tips:

To achieve the best results, your hair should be completely dry.

Keep the strands of hair smooth while you work to avoid kinks and ridges.

For ne or shorter hair use a lower heat setting.

For thick or longer hair use a higher heat setting.

As with all hair straighteners that reach salon high temperatures, do not use

them too frequently in order to avoid damaging your hair.

AUTO SHUT-OFF

(MODEL HCSTPRHS33-049 ONLY)

Hair Straightener HCSTPRHS33-049 is tted with a safety auto shut o feature and
after approximately 1 hour it will automatically switch itself o. To restart it, switch it
o then back on again using the on/o button. You should not rely on the Auto Shut
O feature for switching o after use. Always switch o your hair straightener using

the on/o button and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

Jarden Consumer Solutions of India Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as “JCS”)
warrants that, for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase of this product as
evidenced in the cash memo (“Warranty Period”), this product will be free from defects in
material and workmanship (the “Warranty”). Please preserve the warranty card and the cash
memo of the product duly stamped and signed by the dealer, as this will be required for
any claims under this Warranty.

• The rights and benets under this Warranty are additional to your statutory rights,

which are not aected by this Warranty.

• During the Warranty Period, JCS, at its sole choice, will either repair or replace this

product or any component of the product found to be defective free of cost through
(the dealer from whom the product was purchased or through the service center listed
in the card – business people to conrm), provided that:

- JCS is promptly informed of the defect;

- The product has not been altered in any way or subjected to misuse or repair by the

person other than a person authorized by JCS;

- This Warranty, duly lled, stamped and signed by the dealer is made available.

• The Warranty provided herein is towards the original purchaser and is not transferrable

to any third party.

• Any repaired or replaced product will be warranted on these terms for the remaining

portion of the Warranty in the country where the product was purchased.

• Liability for consequential loss or damage is neither accepted nor is it implied.

• This Warranty is in lieu of all others expressed or implied and does not cover the following:

a. If product was use in any manner other than the intended use.
b. If the product has not been used according to the instruction manual/user’s manual,

included with the product.
c. If the defects are caused by improper use or reckless use.
d. If the product was altered or repaired by anyone other than those authorized by JCS.
e. If installation of the product is not done as per the printed instructions provided

along with the product.
f. If the defects are caused by re, ood, and other act of god.
g. If the defects are caused by use of incorrect current or voltage or faulty electric

power supply.
h. Normal wear and tear of parts and accessories resulting from regular use.
i. Damage resulting from transportation, accidents, mishandling or negligence on the

part of the consumer.
j. The following part/components:

- Broken glass or ceramic parts

- Light bulb

- Accessories
k. If the product is put to industrial or commercial use.

• JCS will not be responsible for any delay in servicing due to non-availability of any

components or due to reasons beyond the control of JCS.

• Any failure of the product to perform any purpose other than the intended

purpose shall not be considered as a default under this warranty.

• In any event, if JCS becomes liable for damages incurred in connection with these

presents, then the liability of JCS will be limited to the amount equal to the sale

invoice amount paid by you.
Waste electrical products should not be disposed o with household waste. Please recycle
where facilities exist.

WARRANTY

USER MAINTENANCE

Your hair straightener is maintenance free. Please keep plates clear of dirt and dust. If
any cleaning becomes necessary, follow the following steps:

1. Switch o the hair straightener and unplug it

2. Allow the hair straightener to cool down completely on a heat-resistant surface.

3. Wipe the plates and handle gently with a damp cloth.

4. Do not scrub surface of plates or handle.

NOTE: Never immerse the hair straightener in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it
under the tap.

STORAGE

1. Switch o the appliance and unplug it.

2. Let the appliance cool down completely on a heat-resistant surface.

3. The arms of your hair straightener can be locked together for storage. To lock,
close the arms and press the lock button.

4. Store the appliance in a safe and dry place. It may also be stored by hanging it
from its hanging loop (for models HCSTPRHS11-049/HCSTPRHS33-049 only).
