SET-UP:
This unit is only suitable for DC 12V electric source (the included AC/DC
adapter changes the input AC voltage from the wall outlet to DC 12V
output as the electric source of the unit). When it is used in car, make
sure the car is equipped with 12V battery. Only use the power adapter
supplied with the unit. Ensure the adapter (either input
100-120V or 220v-240V) is the correct voltage for your country before
plugging it into the wall outlet.
1. Select a firm, level and flat location. When used in car, the unit should be
fixed inside the cup holder.
2. Ensure no grilles are blocked.
3. Connect the output of the main AC/DC adapter (or the output of the car
adapter when used in car) in the DC Jack on the back of the unit, and then
plug the adapter into an electrical outlet (or the car cigarette lighter socket
when used in car).
4. Do not lift the unit by the front cover.
OPERATION:
1. Ensure the front cover is securely latched.
2. Press the Power button to turn on the unit. A blue LED indicator under the
button will light to indicate the device is operating.You may feel and smell
a fresh airflow from the front grille.This is the purified air just passing
through the UVC Lamp and the Collection Blades. A “blue glow”inside the

3. Press the Power button again to turn off the unit.
4. If the front cover is opened, the power of the unit will automatically shut
off.You have to latch the front cover securely before re-activating the unit.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
There are two collection blades fixed on the front cover. We recommend that
the collection blades be cleaned once a week.
Cleaning the Collection Blades
• Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
• Open the “PULL” tab on the top of the unit to open and remove the front
cover from the unit.
• Use mild soap and water to clean the metal blades, then rinse and dry with
a paper towel.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
UV LAMP SAFETY WARNING
Warning: UV light is harmful to bare skin and eyes and can cause
temporary or permanent loss of vision. When the unit is turned on, you
will see UV light through the grille at the front of the unit,and this is
perfectly safe. However, it is not safe to open the unit and look into the
UV light.The unit contains a safety interlock to prevent the unit from
operating and the light from illuminating when the front cover is open.
The safety interlock is a tiny button located on the plastic casing inside
the unit (please see the illustrating diagram). NEVER attempt to defeat
the safety interlock by pressing this button, as this can cause harmful
exposure to UV light.To be safe, you should ALWAYS unplug the unit
before opening the front cover.
1. The unit will not function while the front cover is removed or not firmly
latched into place.
2. The unit complies with U.S. safety requirements for low ozone emission
(less than 50 parts per billion) as tested under UL standard for consumer
products.

Oreck Manufacturing Company warrants the Car/Bathroom Deodorizer
(Model XJ-300) free from defects in material and workmanship under normal,
non-commercial use and service. Oreck will remedy any such defects if they
appear within one (1) year from date of purchase.This warranty gives you specific
legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary state to state.
