• Fully discharge the batteries occasionally by playing the CD player
until it no longer plays. Then fully
recharge the batteries. This helps
restore the batteries’ full charging
capacity.
• Avoid charging the batteries in a
hot environment (above 113°F) as
this can permanently reduce the
batteries’ charging capacity.
Caution: Do not overcharge the batteries. Overcharging can significantly
reduce the batteries’ useful life.
Important: Th is CD player is c apable
of using rechargeable nickel-cadmium
batteries. At the end of the batteries’
useful life, they must be recycled or
disposed of properly. Contact your local, county, or state hazardous waste
management authorities for information on recycling or d isposal program s
in your area. Some options that might
be available are: municipal curb-side
collection, drop-off boxes at retailers
such as your local RadioShack store,
recycling collection centers, and mail back programs.
Installing Batteries
1. Press down on the battery compartment cover and slide it away
from the CD player, then lift the
cover.
2. Place two AA batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked
inside.
3. Close the battery compartment
cover.
Replace or recharge the batteries
when flashes on the display, the
sound distorts, or the volume weakens.
Cautions:
• Always dispose of old batteries
promptly and properly; do not burn
or bury them.
• If you do no t plan to use the CD
player for a month or more, remove and store the batteries.
• Never leave dead, old, or weak
batteries in the CD player. Batteries can leak chemicals that corrode or damage electronic
circuits.

supplies 6 volts, and delivers at
least 400 milliamps (CD-3620) or
500 milliamps (CD-3640). Its center tip must be set to positive, and
its barrel pl u g must co rre ctly fit th e

to use the CD player with AC
power for an extended period of
time (8 hours or more), remove
