1. Preface
Built on powerful chip ATI X225, DTRA1oHDoo is a high cost-effective digital terrestrial receiver fully co mpliant with DVB-T standards. It can decode high and standard defini­tion digital TV programs. Equipped with the latest technology and design, the receiver is ensured to offer high reliability and stability.

1. System Connection
Make sure the Power, Terrestria l Antenna, TV and other relevant equipment are con­nected well referring to following figure. If you want to install more, please ask your local dealer for help .

3. Connections
There are five ways to co nnect STB to TV. The TV set can be divided into two types: standard definition TV (SDTV) and high defini tion TV (HDTV). The type of the TV set to be connected determines the selection in four-choi ce switch and three-choice switch.
Warning: In each connection, L-Audio and R-Audio must be connected well.
1. Four -choice switch
If the receiver is connected with SDTV, only 576I can be selected. If the receiver is conne cted with HDTV, you can select proper definitions among 576P, 720P and 1080I according to definition that the connected TV support.
2. Three-choice switch If the receiver is conn ected with HDTV via VGA, L-AUDIO and R-AUDIO connector , you have to select VGA. If the receiver is c onnected with HDTV via Y, Pb, Pr, L­AUDIO and R-AUDIO connector, YPbPr is selected. If the receiver is connected with HDTV via DV I, L-AUDIO and R-RADIO connector, DVI is selected. If 576I is selected in the four-choice swtich , here any one you select will be OK.

2. Quick Installation
STEP1: Check connections Prior to powering up the receiver, ensure that all cabling is correctly connected as explained in system connections. Ensure that the unit is connected to the A/V equipment and the power socket.
STEP2: Adjust TV set Turn on the television and adjust TV’s video input mode accordin g to the receiver’s video ouput mode.
STEP3: Power up Turn on power switch ON /OFF on the front panel of your rece iver. The startup OSD will be shown on the TV screen. The startup OSD will remain for several seconds and then disappear. If there are some programs stored in the STB, channel number wi ll be shown on the LED area.
STEP4: Search program
1. If the re is no program stored in the receiver, maybe it is your first time to use this receiver, or the receiver has just been turned to factory default. No matter what happens, the system will guide you to searc h programs step by step when you turn on the receiver.
At first, syste m will pop up System Information win- dow promp ting “Please press OK key to Initialize system”. Press OK key to contin ue, or press EXIT key to terminate. If select OK, you will enter into Country Select window. From here, selet correct country where you b elong. Press
OK or E XIT key to continue, you will enter into Time Zone Adjust window. In this window, select correct time zone
where you belong and turn on daylight saving if daylight saving is available.
Press OK or Exit k ey to continue, and you will enter into Parental Guide window. From here, yo u can change password and install all kinds of locks according to your

need (For more details, please refer to 5.5 Parental Guide in seciton III). Pres s OK or Exit key to close current window, and enter into the next Auto Search window. Once you get into this window, system will search pro­grams under all ch annels listed in this window immediately.
After searching, all searched programs will be added into TV p rogram list and system will turn to normal mode to view first searched program under firs t searched channel .
2. The way that you usually use to s earch programs is introduced as fol lows:
On non -menu mode, press Menu key to display Main Menu menu. Use keys to select Installation item and pres s OK key, enter into Installation menu where system has provid ed two ways to search programs: Auto Search and Ma nual Search.
We recommend you to use Auto Search here. Move cursor to Auto Search item and press OK key, and sys- tem will search programs immediately. After searching, searched progra ms will be added to TV program list and turn to full-screen to view firs t searched program automatically. If you are familiar with parameters of channel, you can go to Manu al Search. For more details, please refer to 1. Installation in Section III.
STEP5: Play program Press OK key on normal view mode, will pop up a pro-
gram list. Use k eys to select the desired pr ogram and press OK key to view in full-screen.
Note: All functions can be operated by using the keys on the RCU, and some of the functions can also be operated by us ing the keys on the front panel.

Main Menu
Under the non-menu mode, pressing MENU key will dis- play the Main Menu menu. This menu consists of five menu items as shown bel ow.

Use the keys to move up or down from one item to another. The corresponding sub-menu will be displayed on the screen as long as OK key is pressed on the se­lected item. To escape the menu system at anytime, press EXIT or
MENU key on the RCU.
1. Installation
In Installation menu, system has provided two ways to search programs: Auto Search and Manual Search. The Channel List deter mines what will be searched in those two windows, so it is important to edit channel in Chan-
nel Edit window.
1.1 Auto S earch
For beginners, Auto Search is the best choice. Fi rst use
keys to select Auto Search item in the Installation menu. Then press OK key to enter into Auto Search window. System will search progra ms under Channel List one by one automatical ly. After searching, new searched program will be added to TV program list and system will turn to full-screen mode to view first searc hed program automatically.

During the searching, you can press EXIT key to stop or press OK key to skip. Press EXIT key again or MENU key to exit from this window.
1.2 Manual Search
You can se t parameters in Manual Search window if you are familiar with relevant parameters. In this mode, only one channel, whose necessary parameters are set in
Manual Search window by hand, can be searched. Channel No.: Press key to select proper option among the Channel List that you can edit in Channel Edit wind ow. Frequency: Th e value varies with what you have selected
in Channel No. Bandwidth: Press keys to switch between 7M and 8M. Transmission Mode: You have a choice of 2K, 8K and Auto. Press keys to select appropriate mode. Guard Interval: Available options are: 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/ 32 and Auto. Press keys to select one among them. Network Searc h: Press keys to select “Yes” or “No”. If select “Ye s”, receiver will search all available channels gotten from current chann el, and then search all programs according to this searched chan nel list. If select “No”, re­ceiver only searchs programs within current channel you have set we ll above. At the bo ttom of this window, there are two dynamic colour bars reflecting the signal’s quality and strength. You can check whether you have set the antenna well by these two bars. After mod ifying, press OK key to start searching. Search- ing well, system will turn to view first searched program automatically. During the whole process, you can press EXIT or MENU key to exit.

1.3 Channel Edit
Select Channel Edit item in the Installation menu and press OK key. Then Channel Edit window will be dis ­played on the s creen. From here, new channel can be added and the existing ones can be edited or deleted. You can use the color keys on the RCU to execute the corresponding command.

After press ing red k ey on the RCU, the Add Chann el window, where you can set necessary parameters of the new channel, will be displayed on the screen. Channe l No: The number is determined by the last chan­nel’s number in Channel Edit window. The val ue is the last number adding one. This value determine d by the re­ceiver automatically can not be modified any more.
Frequency : You can input values referring to above. Bandwidth: Pr ess keys to switch between7M and
8M. Transmission Mode: You have a choice of 2K, 8K and Auto. Press keys to select appropriate mode. Guard Interval: Available options are: 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/ 32 and Auto. Press keys to select one among them. Have all above pa rameters set well, press OK key to con- firm and exit from th e Add Channel window. In Channel Edit window, you can find that the new chan nel has been added to end of the list.
v Delete
This co mmand allows you to delete one or more unwanted channels. First select the chann el you want to delete and press green key on the RCU, and you will find this item
will be marked with symbol. You can cancel this op-

eration by pressing green k ey again. Press Exit key to exit from Channel Edit window and enter into it again.
You wil l find that all channels marked with symbol have been del eted from the channel list.
v Modify
Select the channel you want to edit first and then press yellow ke y or OK key to display Modify Channel window. The operations a re the same as “Add”.
1.4 Factory Default
In Inst allation menu, move cursor to Facto ry Default item and press OK key. The Password window will ap­pear to ask you to inpu t the password. The default value is
1 111 (If you want to change password, please refer to 5.5 Parental Guide). If yo u have inputted correct password,
a warning message box will be displayed on the screen. Press OK key to resume the de fault.
Note: After restoring default, all programs you have searched will be erased and all parameters will re­turn to the factory default. So, this operation is ap­plied only for special nece ssary situation.
1.5 Upgrade
This upgrade functi on needs software support.
2. Program Guide
Move cursor to Progr am Guide item, and press OK key to ente r into Program Guide window. You can also enter into this window by pre ssing EPG key on the RCU under non-me nu mode. In Program Guide window, the up-right small Picture in Grag hics (PIG) and down-right program guide list vary with

In the Main Menu menu, select Pr ogram Manage item, and pre ss OK key to enter into Program Manage menu. This menu consists of Program Edit and Favorite Edit two items.
3.1 Program Edit
Through this wind ow, you can edit programs according to your requir ements . Four colour keys on the RCU have their corresp onding functions. Delete (red key ) Move (green key ) Modify (yellow key) Fav Edit (blue key )
v Delete
This del etion command allows you to delete one or more unwa nted programs permanently. First select the program you want to delete and press red key on the RCU, you will find this item will be marked with “X” symbol. You can cancel this operation by pressing red key again. Press OK or EXIT key to exit from Program Edit window and enter it again, and you will find that all programs marked with “X” symbol have been deleted from the program list.

3.2 Favorite Edit
This window includes the three col umns of FAV, Selected and Programs. While there are no prepared favorite groups in FAV col umn, you can define and modify favorite groups’ name by using colour keys on the RCU. And more, you can add programs to any favorite group.
v Move
Only one program item can be moved up or down each time. Press keys to select program you want to move and press green key o n the RCU. A double-pointed arrow pointing north and south will be displayed right to the se­lected program. You can press keys to move this program to where you want to locate. Press green key again to confirm new location.
v Modify
Press keys to hi ghlight the program that you want to modify and press yellow key on the RCU. Then you will enter into Program Modify wind ow where you can modify the following parameters of the sel ected program. Video PID: Use keys to fix a location where you want to input a decimal digit and then use numeric keys on the RCU to input.
Audio PID: Inp ut specified value in the same way as above. PCR_PID: Input appropriate value in the same way as
ab ove. Teletext PID: Input appropri ate value in the same way as ab ove. After modifying, press OK to save or press EXIT key to cancel this operation.

By pr essing blue colour k ey, you can switch between Program Edit window and Favorite Edit win dow.

keys are used to select item in each column. Notice that what will be shown in the Selected and Programs column varies with the favorite group that you have se­lected in the FAV column.
How to define a favourite group
Pres s red key on the RCU, and will pop up a keypad window where you can define a favorite group name. In this keypad window, select your required character by using direction key on the RCU and press OK key. Then the sel ected character will be shown in the title bar at the top of this keypad window. To switch between capitaliza­tion and l owcase, please select Caps On command and press OK key on the RCU. Back command allo ws you to erase the unwanted character in the title bar. Move cursor to OK command and press OK key. The keypad will dis- appear and the new name wil l be shown in the FAV column. You can defin e several favorite groups in the same way.
How to modify a favourite group
In the FAV column, use keys to select one that you want to modify and press yellow key. Then a keypad window will be poped up For further operation, please refer to th e above specification.
How to delet e a favourite gro up
In the FAV column, the selected favorite group will be de­leted from the list as soon as green colour key on the RCU is pressed.
How to add programs into a favourite group
Select one favorite group (for examaple Sports favorite group that you h ave just defined) in Fav column, and then move cursor to Programs column. In Programs column, select progra ms that have a relation with Sports and press OK key, and then those programs will be added into Sports

favorite group and shown in the Selected column, at the same time those selected programs will disappear in the Programs column. If you want to deselect one program in Sport favorite group, move cus or to program that you want to delete in Se­lected column and press OK key, and then this desig­nated program will disappear i n Selected column and will be shown in the Programs column.
The way to get into Program Edit window? By pr essing blue colour k ey, you can switch between Program Edit window and Favorite Edit win dow.
4. Program Select
In the Main Menu menu, use keys to select Pro­gram Select item, and press OK key to enter into Pro­gram Lis t window.
From here, th e default mode is “ALL” mode. Suppose that yo u have defined several favorite groups (please refer to 3. 2 Favorite Edit), you can use keys or FAVAV key to select desired favorite group among them. At the same time, you can find th at programs shown in the down pro­gram list will vary with selected favorite group. If there is no defined favorite group, keys or FAV V key are not available. By pressing keys, the cursor will return to the down program list. In down program list, keys are used to select de­sired program and pre ss OK key to view in full screen.

5. System Setting
In the Main Menu menu, use keys to select System Setting item, and press OK key to enter into System Setting menu. This menu consists of eight items. You
can access its sub-menu by highlighting this item and pressing OK key.
5.1 Video Setting
Aspect Ratio: Press keys to select the aspect ratio
of the output video format among Full Screen, 4:3 Pillar box, 16:9 Letterbo x and 16:9 Crop.
NTSC/PAL/SECAM: Only PAL i s available now. HS Frequency: Pre ss keys to select between 28KHz
and 31.5KHz. After setting, press OK or EXIT key to save and exit.
Note: You have to reboot the box to make change s of the sec ond and the third option available.
5.2 Audio Se tting
Decoder: Press keys to switch between Inner and
Outer. If you have a Hi -Fi system with S/P DIF input, please select “outer” to output AC3 stream to Hi-Fi system, by using S/P DIF oth erwise, the set-top box will decode AC3 stream. Channel Mode: There are four optio ns that you can select: Left, right, Mix an d Stereo. After setting, press OK or EXIT key to save and exit.
5.3 Timer Setup
From here , you can make several timer reservations. Timer Number: Press keys to select the timer in- dex from 0 to 31.

Enable: Press ke ys to select between “Yes” and “NO”. If you select “Yes”, the timer of current number will take effection. Event type: Press keys to select event among Turn On, Turn Off and Turn Channel. If se lect “Turn On” or “Turn Off”, this receiver will be turned on or turned off automati­cally a t the designated time. In “turn on ” event, if you have selected one channel in the following Turn on Channel item, the receiver will turn to view selected channel at the desig nated time. If select “Turn Channel”, the event is that system will turn to view selected channel at designated time when wa tching programs. Turn on Channel: This item can be modified only when you have selected “Turn On” or “Turn Channel” in the Event type item. Use keys to pop up the Program List where you can use keys to select desired channel and press OK key to confirm. Time Type: Press keys to select among One Time, Daily, Weekly and Monthly. The selected option in this item determins the following items. For example, if you have selected “One Time”, the shown items are Month, Date and Time. In each item, use keys or numeric keys(0~9 ) to set the proper time of current event. After se tting well, press OK or EXIT key to save and exit.
5.4 OSD Setup
Transpa rency: The value ranges from 0% to 20% by step
5%. The transparency of the menu that you have seen varies with your selection. Banner Time: Whenever a new channel i s selected, an Info bar appears momentarily at the bottom edge of the screen. Therefore this setting is provided to set the dis­play duratio n of the Info bar. After se tting well, press OK or EXIT key to save and exit.

5.5 Parental Guide
Select Parental Guide item and press OK key, and a password is needed before accessing Parental Guide window. The de fault password is 1111. Parental lock: You can prevent chil dren or unauthorized people from watching programs here. Use key to se­lect proper option. Since there are differences between the paren tal rating standard of Australia and that of Europe, the available op tions that you can select are determined by the selected country. Th e differences are described as follows:

On the normal mode, you have to input the PIN code in order to view a program beyond selecte d parental level. Program Manage Lock: If “Yes” is selected, you have to input a password before accessing Program Manage

Menu. Installation Lock: If “Yes” is selected, you can not enter into Installation menu until you have input the correct password. Change Password: Highlight this button and press OK key, and will enter into Password Set window. Please use numeric k eys (0~9) on the RCU to input the same values in Input New Password and Confirm New Pass­word two items. Setting well, press OK to confirm new password and re turn to Parental Guide window. After setting, press OK or EXIT key to save and exit.
5.6 Language Setup
From here, you can select the desired language for menu, close caption, subtitle and audio. In each item, you can press keys to select proper language. Press OK or
Exit to exit and save the settings.
5.7 T ime Zone Adjust
In T ime Z one Adju st window, use keys to s elect time zone where you have been. The wa ys to select time zo ne are determined by the country that you have selected. If the selected country is Australia, do this by selecting city. If the selected country is European country, select the time zone directly. keys are used to select be­tween “on” and “off” for Daylight Saving.
5.8 S ystem Information
From here, yo u can get not only the information about the hardware and software, but also IRD Type a nd Release date.

6. Shortcut Key Explanation
In normal view mode, you can real ize some functions in a easy and fast way by pressing some special keys on the RCU. These keys will be explai ned as follows:
1. Program List
Press OK key or press FAV k ey on the RCU, and will display Program List window. Press FAV key again and again or keys to swtich among favorite groups that you have defined before (refer to 3.2 Fa vorite Edit). keys are used to select the program that you want to watch and press OK key to view in full screen.
2. Teletext/Closed caption/Subtitle
You c an press Ttx/CC/Sub key on the RCU to switch among Teletext, Closed Caption, S ubtitle and normal view four modes. On the front pan el, the first position of LEDs shows d ifferent character on those four modes. It shows “T” on Teletext mode, “C” on Closed Caption, “S” on Sub­title and “P” on normal view. Only when the broadcaster has pro vided this service did you can open teletext, closed caption or subtitle. Ex cept nomal view mode, you can exit from current mode by popi ng up any menu.
3. Information
When watch ing a channel, press keys to switch chan­nel or pres s INFO key, and a simple EPG banner that includes now program information, and next program i n­formation wil l appear. Duration of banner’s displaying can be modifi ed referring to 5.4 OSD Setup Banner Time. And more, SD or HD mark will display at top-right corner of this banner accordi ng to curren TV program transmitted from headend. 4. Pause
When watching a cha nnel, the current picture on the screen will be stopped as soon as FREEZE key is pressed. Press
FREEZE key ag ain to activate it.
5. Volume
To i ncrease or decrease the volume, use keys either on the RCU or on the front panel when watching TV or listening to the radio.
6. EPG Press EPG key on the RCU, will enter into Program
Guide wind ow directly. The operations in this window can refer to 2. Program Guide.
7. A.list
Press A.list k ey to switc h between Subtitle Language and Audio Language window. Note that the available se­lections in both audio and subtitle language window de­pend on the TV broadca sting signal. If front-end provide several audio and subtitle languages, use keys to select a ppropriate language and press OK key to confirm, otherwise there is no selecti on.
8. A.mode
Press A.mode key to switch among Left, Right, Stereo and Mix four modes. Sele ct the best audio channel output for the current prog ram.

9. MUTE
By pressing MUTE key on the RCU, the volume will dis­appear temporarily and MUTE mark will be displ ayed on the up-right corner. The volu me will be restored by press­ing MUTE key agai n.
10. Vision Adjust
On the normal vi ew mode, press yellow color key on the RCU to enter into Vision Adjust window. From here, ad- just the brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness directly according to the actual effect that you have seen on the screen.
1 1. Postion Adjust
On the normal view mode, by pressing red color key on the RCU, four big different dirction arrows will be displayed in th e middle of the screnn. Use four direction arrow keys on the RCU to adjust the vision’s position on the screen.
12. Aspect Ratio
On the normal view mode, use ASPECT key to select desired televison screen output format among 16:9 Crop, Full Screen, 4:3 Pillarbox, 16:9 LetterBox. Continuously press thi s button to toggle through the different modes.

V. T rouble Shooting

The display on the
front panel does
not light up.
Main cable is not connected.
Check that the main cable is plugged into power
socket. No sound and picture, but the front panel shows time.
The unit is in standby mode.
Press the key on the
RCU.
No sound or picture.
No signal or weak signal.
Check the cable
connections. Bad picture/ Blocking error.
Signal is too strong. Connect a signal attenuator
to the RF IN port. There is interference on your digital terrestrial channel.
The system is connected using RF leads and the output channel of the receiver interferes with an existing terrestrial channel or Video signal.
Change the receiver output
channel to a more suitable
channel.
The RCU is not working.
