The R-N855 is a compact yet uncommonly heavy receiver
featuring customized high-grade audio circuitry and Onkyooriginal Switching Amplier technology. This system is
powered by a massive EI transformer and huge capacitors
housed in a rigid
1.6 mm-thick chassis.

VLSC™ Reduces Noise and
Reveals Detail
Pulse noise arises when
converting digital signals to
analog. Both receiver and CD
player feature VLSC (Vector
Linear Shaping Circuitry). The
unique technology analyzes
input and output signal
information and erases noise,
clarifying details otherwise
hidden in subtle distortion.
VLSC reshapes the signal by
generating an original signal line
(vector).
Select and Play from a Connected HDD
Load your entire digital library onto an HDD*,
connect it to one of the receiver’s USB inputs,
and use our smartphone app to browse and
play anything in your collection complete with
album art and song information. A premium
768 kHz/32-bit DAC and VLSC ensures
pulse-noise-free playback of DSD 11.2 MHz
and 192 kHz/24-bit PCM Hi-Res Audio
