INTRODUCTION

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) is pre-programmed with the latest library of codes, and it is designed to operate up to six home entertainment devices, including TV, video, DVD, Cable, Satellite and audio components. The remote control requires two (2) new AAA alkaline batteries (not included) and easy programming to control your devices. For best results, please read and perform all instructions listed here. Also, keep these instructions for future reference.

KEY CHARTS

The LED (red light), which is located underneath the POWER Key, blinks to show that the remote control is working and is sending signals.

Press TV, CBL/SAT,

VCR, DVD, PVR, or AUD once to select a

desired home entertainment device to control.

Press POWER once to turn on or off the selected device. For master pow er con trol, see “Programming a Master Power Macro” on page 10.

Press MENU once to display your selected device’s main menu.

Use GUIDE to display your selected device’s program guide or setup menu.

Use EXIT to exit from your selected device’s guide or menu.

Use INFO to display the current channel and program information.

Use OK to choose options from your selected device’s menu or guide.

Use CH + (or CH -) to select the next higher (or lower) channel.

Press PREV once to recall the last-viewed channel and to page back one screen on the main menu.

In the AUD, DVD and CD modes, use DISC to change disk (if available on your device).

Use th e keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to directly select channels (e.g., 009 or 031).

In the AUD mode, use the keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to select audio sources 1 through 10.

Press ENTER once after entering the channel numbers on some TVs.

In the CD mode, use ENTER to add 10 to the digit entry (e.g., ENTER and 7 is 17).

Use INPUT to switch the TV's input to view TV or video programs.

Use the Transport Keys to control your PVR/DVR, VCR, DVD, or CD player, or VOD (Video On Demand) if available on your cable or satellite service.

Press REC to record a DVD or VCR program.

After programming, press M1 or M2 once to run a desired macro (see “Using Macros” on page 9).

Use PIP to switch the Picture-In-Picture feature on or off (if available on your TV).

Use MOVE to move the window picture to different positions in the main picture.

Use SWAP to switch images and sound between the main and window pictures.

Press SLEEP to activate your device's sleep timer (not available for all devices).

After programming, the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) will be able to control the following types of devices:

Use CC to turn on closed caption or subtitles. If you have a PVR/DVR device, use SHOWS to access your list of recorded shows.

Use FORMAT to change the Aspect Ratio of your display (16:9). If you have a PVR/DVR device, use LIVE to return to live programming.

Use +100 if your device requires this key to access channels greater than 100 (same as your original device). Use the (-) function to access your High Deﬁnition Channels (e.g., if your HD channel is 2.5, p r ess 2 (-) 5).

Use SET for all programming sequences.

6 Installing Batteries

INSTALLING BATTERIES

1. On the remote control's back, push down on the top of the battery cover (where indicated by the arrows). Then slide the battery cover out.

2. Obtain two (2) new AAA alkaline batteries. Match the + and – marks on the batteries to the + and – marks in the battery case, then insert the new batteries.

3. Slide the battery cover back into place. The tab should click when the cover is locked.

4. Test the remote control by ﬁrst pressing POWER and then any mode key (e.g., TV). If the batteries are inserted correctly, the LED (red light) will blink once.

NOTE: When batteries are low, the remote control will blink 5 times after each key pr es s. The remote will stop operating when the batteries need replacement. The permanent memory retention ensures that your codes are stored permanently even during battery replacement.

SETTING UP YOUR COMPONENTS

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) is preprogrammed at the factory to operate a Sony TV, DVD and VCR, a Motorola Cable Box, a Sony Tivo PVR/DVR, and a Pioneer Receiver. To control devices other than the default brands, perform the fo llowing steps; otherwise skip this section.

NOTE: For Combo Device control, see the next section.

1. Turn on a device (e.g., TV, VCR or D VD player) and, if applicable, insert media (e.g., cassette or disc).

NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 4 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before starting step 2.

2. On the remote control, press a device key once (i.e., TV, CBL/SAT, VCR, DVD, PVR, or AUD).

3. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

4. Use the “Manufacturer’s Codes (Codes des fabricants)” (starting on page 46) to locate the type of device and brand

name and then enter the ﬁrst fourdigit code for your device. If performed correctly, the LED will blink twice.

NOTE: If the LED did not blink twice, repeat steps 2 through 4 and enter the same code again.

5. Aim the remote control at the device and press POWER once. The device should turn off. If it does not, repeat steps 2 through 5, trying each code for your brand until you ﬁnd one that works. If it still doesn’t work, try “Searching for Your Code” on page 8.

NOTE: If the device does not have a POWER key, press the (PLAY) key.

6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each device you want to control. For future reference, write down each working device code in the following boxes:

PROGRAMMING COMBO DEVICE CONTROL

You can set the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) to control your combo devices such as TV/VCR, TV/DVD, Satellite/PVR/DVR, Home-Theater-In-A-Box, and many others with a single code. For a complete list of combo devices, refer to the “Device Table” on page 5.

NOTE: Some combo device types have codes that you can program on separate device keys. For example, you can program DVD Player/VCR Combo codes under the VCR or DVD mode keys. See “Setup Codes for DVD/ VCR Combos (Codes de réglage des lecteurs DVD/magnétoscopes)” on page 59; note that there are two sections under this device type.

Perform the following instructions to control a TV/DVD Combo:

1. Turn on the TV/DVD Combo and insert a DVD.

NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 4 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before starting step 2.

2. On the remote control, press TV.

3. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, and then release SET.

4. Use the Setup Codes under the TV/ DVD Com bos heading (use c odes listed as “TV Codes”) on page 56. Locate the

brand name and then enter the ﬁrst four-digit code for your device. If performed corr ectl y, the LED will blink twice.

NOTE: If the LED did not blink twice, repeat steps 2 through 4 and enter the same code again.

5. Aim the remote control at the device and press POWER once. It should turn off. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2 through 4, trying each code for your brand until you ﬁnd one that works. If it still does not work, try “Searching for Your Code”, below.

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE

If your device does not respond to the remote control after trying all codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code. For example, to search for a code for your TV:

1. Turn on your TV and on the remote control, press TV once.

2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

3. Enter 9 9 1. The LED will blink twice.

4. Select a test function from the list below or use the default test function (POWER) and skip step 4.

NOTE: The keys that can be used for the test function are 0, 1, 2, 3, POWER, VOL +, Play, Stop and Mute.

5. Press CH+ to begin searching for your code. Stop the search when the device turns off or performs the function selected in step 4 (if other than POWER).

NOTE: In the search mode, the remote con trol

will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code ﬁrst. Every press of CH+ will send a new code. If you go past the code that performed the Test Function, yo u can g o back by pressing CH-.

6. To lock in the code, press and release the SET key. The LED blinks twice.

7. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps 1 through 6, but substitute the appropriate device key for the device you are searching for in step 1.

CHECKING THE CODES

If you have set up the remote control using the Searching For Your Code procedure, you may need to ﬁnd out which four-digit code is operating your equipment. For example, to ﬁnd out which code is operating your TV:

1. On the remote control, press TV once.

2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

3. Enter 9 9 0. The LED will blink twice.

4. To view the code for the ﬁrst digit, press 1 once. Wait 3 seconds, count the LED blinks (e.g., three blinks = 3) and write down the number in the leftmost box in the TV code boxes on page 7.

NOTE: If a code digit is 0, the LED will not blink.

5. Repeat step 4 three more times for remaining digits. Use 2 for the second digit, 3 for the third digit, and 4 for the fourth digit. Write down the code digits in the remaining TV code boxes on page 7.

6. To check for codes of other devices, repeat steps 1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for each device you are checking. Write down the device’s code digits in the appropriate code boxes on page 7.

USING MACROS

You can program the M1 and M2 keys on your One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) to perform repetitive, time-consuming operations for easy, con v enient access through the press of a single key.

Macro keys are ideal for home theater operations, setting a favorite channel, guide steps, or other multiple functions you wo uld like to control with one key pr ess. Moreov er, each macro key can hold up to a total of 20 key presses.

NOTE: Programming a new macro over an existing one will erase the original macro.

PROGRAMMING A FAVORITE CHANNEL

With so many channels available through your cable or satellite system provider, you can program a macro that directly selects a favorite channel with one key press.

For example, let's assume your favorite cable programs are on channel 52. Use the following instructions to program a macro key for direct access of this channel:

NOTE: This example ass um e s the TV is tu ned to the correct Input to view your cable box.

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 5. The LED will blink twice.

3. Select an open macro key (e.g., M1) and press it once.

4. Press CBL/SAT once.

5. Enter the channel number: 5 2. NOTE: If you have access to o ver 100 cha nnels,

enter 0 5 2. Moreover, if the original remote control requires you to press ENTER to change the channel, also press ENTER after the channel number (e.g., 0 5 2 ENTER).

NOTE: You can program up to 20 functions on the macro keys.

6. Press and ho ld SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

Now when you press M1, you will instantly see cable channel 52 on your TV set.

PROGRAMMING A MASTER POWER MACRO

In its default state, the POWER key on the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) will individually power your home entertainment devices on or off. However, you can also program a Master Power Macro onto the POWER key that will sequentially turn on or off all the devices with a single key press.

To Program the Master Power Macro

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 5. The LED will blink twice.

3. Press the POWER key once.

4. For the ﬁrst device you want in the power-on sequence, press its device key (e.g., TV) once.

5. For the second device you want in the power-on sequence, press its device key (e.g., CBL/SAT) once.

6. For the Third device you want in the power-on sequence, press its device key (e.g., AUD) once.

7. Repeat st ep 6 u p t o three more times to add the other desired devices to the power-on sequence (e.g., VCR, DVD, and PVR ).

8. To save the settings and exit the program, press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

To Operate Master Power Macro

1. After programming, point the remote control at the devices and press POWER for at least 2 seconds to sequentially turn on (or off) your devices.

NOTE: When you press POWER for less than 2 seconds, a power command will only be sent to the currently-selected device. This allows you to still individually power devices on or off.

2. Devices will turn on (or off) according to your programmed sequence.

NOTE: The currently-selected device will always turn on or off ﬁrst, followed by the remaining programmed sequence. After the master power sequence has been completed, the remote control will be set to control the ﬁrst powered-on device.

NOTE: If one or more devices does not have a POWER key, the power off/on sequence may

be slightly delayed when the remote control signals the device(s).This action is normal.

PROGRAMMING A MACRO ON A DEVICE KEY

In its default state, when you press a device key (e.g., TV) on the One F o r All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00), the remote will switch to that selected device. However, you can also program a Macro onto the Device keys to allow for additional functionality. For example, if your devices are connected to a receiver unit, you can program a Device macro to

switch the receiver's input to the selected device.

To Program the Device Key Macro

For example, let's assume that your DVD in connected to Input 3 of your receiver. You can program a macro that will switch the receiver's input to input 3 when you press and hold the DVD key .

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 5. The LED will blink twice.

3. Press the DVD key once.

4. Press the AUD key (to select the receiver)

5. Press digit 3 (for the input), and press DVD (to return control to the DVD key).

6. To save the settings and exit the program, press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

NOTE: You can program up to 20 functions on the Device Key Macro. You can program a device Key Macro onto any device key.

To Operate the Device Key Macro

1. After programming, point the remote control at the receiver and press the DVD key for at least 2 seconds. This will switch the Receiver's input to input 3, to allow you to view the DVD.

NOTE: When you press the device key (e.g., DVD) for less than 2 seconds, the remote will

only select the D VD mod e bu t will not cha n ge the Input on the receiver. This allows you to still change modes while using the remote.

NOTE: After executing the Device Key Macro, the remote will return to the DVD mode, to allow the control of the DVD device.

CLEARING A MACRO

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 5. The LED will blink twice.

3. Select a macro key (e.g., M1, M2, POWER or any device key) you want to clear and press it once.

4. Press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET. The macro is now deleted but the keys (in the case of POWER and device keys), will retain their original function.

USING CHANNEL SCAN

In the TV, VCR, DVD and CBL/SAT modes, use the FAV key to start a 3-second scan of all favorite channels (if programmed, “Programming Favorite Channel Scan” on page 11) and/or all channels for the selected mode.

1. Press TV, VCR, DVD or CBL/SAT once.

2. Press FAV once.

•If Favorite Channel Scan has been

set up, scanning of favorite channels will start and cycle through stored channels, then proceed to the next channel up and cycle through all channels on the selected device.

•If Favorite Channel Scan has not

been set up, scanning will start with the current channel, then proceed to the next channel up and cycle through all channels on the selected device.

3. To stop scanning channels at any time, press any key once.

PROGRAMMING FAVORITE CHANNEL SCAN

In the TV, VCR, DVD or CBL/SAT mode, you can stor e a list of up to 10 favorite channels,

in any order, that will be immediately scanned when you press FAV (see “Using Channel Scan” on page 11).

NOTE: Only channels of one mode can be stored for Favorite Channel Scan.

1. On the remote control, press TV, VCR, DVD or CBL/SAT once.

2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

3. Enter 9 9 6. The LED will blink twice.

4. Use the keypad to enter a favorite channel number (e.g., 031). Then press

SET once.

NOTE: If the original remote control required

pressing an ENTER key to change the channel, also press the ENTER key after the channel number (e.g., 0 3 1 ENTER).

5. If desired, repeat step 4 (in this section) for each favorite channel to be stored, up to a total of 10 channels.

NOTE: If you try entering more than 10 channels, the remote control will automatically exit programming.

6. To exit programming, press and hold SET for 3 seconds. The LED will blink twice.

USING LEARNING

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) includes a Learning feature so you can add functions that are unique to your home entertainment devices (e.g., DVD EJECT). However, there are some considerations.

LEARNING PRECAUTIONS

•Your original remote controls must be in working order for learning to work properly.

•Learned keys are mode speciﬁc, so each one can store a unique function for each mode.

•Learned keys can be used in macros (see “Using Macros” on page 9).

•Do not use the following keys for learning: Device Keys, SETUP, FAV, or Record (•) Key.

•Learning capacity is approximately 50 to 70 keys, depending on the code being learned.

•If both learned and keymoved functions are assigned to the same key, the last programmed function is stored.

•A learned function cannot be used as a source for Keymover (see “Using Keymover” on page 14).

•Certain device codes are not learnable including multi-frequency types, some high frequency ones, and other unusual formats.

•For optimum learning, avoid high levels of ambient light such as natural sunlight or energy-efﬁcient ﬂuorescent lights.

NOTE: Please have your original remote controls handy before programming learning. Be sure to press each teaching key within 5 seconds of the previous entry. Otherwise, the One Fo r A ll 6L U ni versal R emo te Co ntro l with Learning (URC-6820 B00) exits the learning mode.

4. Press the desired key once (e.g., +100) to store a feature to be learned. The LED will turn on and remain on for 5 seconds. If the LED does not turn on, go back to step 1 and start again.

5. Place your original remote control (e.g., TV remot e co ntr ol) hea d-to-head (about 2" apart) from the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00).

6. On your original remote control, press and hold the key (i.e., feature) to be learned until the LED on the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) turns off and then blinks twice. If the LED does not blink twice, repeat steps 3 through

7. To learn functions onto other learning keys (e.g., M1 and M2), repeat steps 3 through 6.

8. To lock in new feature(s) on the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00), press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

9. To test a learned feature, press a device key (e.g., TV) once where the learning mode was assigned. Then press the learning key (e.g., +100) where the learned feature is stored.

DELETING FUNCTIONS FROM THE LEARNING K

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 7 6. The LED will blink twice.

3. Press the device key once where the learned feature is stored (e.g., TV).

4. Press the learning key (e.g., +100) to be deleted twice. The LED will blink twice after the second press.

5. To clear additional fun ctions stored on other learning keys, repeat steps 1 through 4 (in this section).

RE-ASSIGNING DEVICE KEYS

You can set the One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) to control a second TV, SAT, DVD player, or other device. For example, to control a TV, a cable box, and two DVDs, you will need to re-assign an unused device key (i.e., VCR) to o pera t e th e second DVD as follows:

1. On the remote control, press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 2. The LED will blink twice.

3. Press DVD once, then press VCR once.

4. The VCR key is now ready to be programmed for your second DVD. See “Setting Up Your Components” on page 7.

To re-assign other device keys to the VCR key, repeat steps 1 through 4 by substitu ting the sequence from the below chart:

You can also re-assign another unused device key by substituting an open key for the VCR key in the above chart and performing the sequence. For example, to re-assign an unused CBL/SAT key as a 2nd TV key, perform SET - 9 - 9 - 2 - TV - CBL/SAT. When a re-assignment is done, the LED (red light) will blink twice to conﬁrm your choice. At that time, you will need to program the remote control for the new device (see “Setting Up Your Components” on page 7).

USING KEYMOVER

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) includes a Keymover feature that allows you to map (or copy) keys from one mode (i.e., source mode) to another mode (i.e., destination mode).

NOTE: The following keys cannot be used as a source or destination: TV, CBL/SAT, VCR, DVD,

PVR, AUD, FAV , and SET.

PROGRAMMING KEYMOVER

For example, if your VCR does not have volume control, you can map those keys (i.e., VOL +, VOL -, and MUTE) from the TV mode to the VCR mode as follows:

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 4. The LED will blink twice.

3. For the source mode, press TV once.

4. For the source key, press VOL + once.

5. For the destination mode, press VCR once.

6. For the destination key, press VOL + once.

7. The LED will blink twice, indicating the keymoved sequence is correct.

8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 twice more to map remaining volume control keys, substituting VOL - and MUTE as source and destination keys in steps 4 and 6.

Upon completion of the above procedure, you can now use your One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) to control the TV’s volume and MUTE in the VCR mode, as well as in the

TV mode.

Restoring a Single Keymoved Key

1. Press a device key that has a keymoved key.

2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

Restoring All Keymoved Keys in a Single Mode

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

3. Press the destination mode twice (where keymoved keys are stored). The LED will blink twice.

CHANGING VOLUME LOCK

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) is set at the factory for independent volume control of each selected device.

However, you may change the Volume Lock setting to Global Volume Lock so that a device’s volume will be locked to one mode (e.g., to control TV volume in all other modes). After that, if desired, you can perform Individual V olume Unlock on a selected device to set its volume control for independent operation.

LOBAL VOLUME LOCK)

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 3 and then press any mode key once (e.g., TV). The LED will blink twice.

3. Now, when you press VOL +, VOL -, or MUTE, the volume of the selected device (e.g., TV) will be controlled regardless of the mode you have selected.

UNLOCKING VOLUME CONTROL FOR A S

1. After performing Global Volume Lock (see left), press a desired mode key where y ou w ant v ol ume to be unlock ed (e.g., AUD) and controlled within its own mode.

3. Enter 9 9 3 and then press VOL - once. The LED will blink four times.

4. If desired, repeat steps 1 through 3 (of this section) for each device that you want volume to be unlocked.

5. Now, after you select a device that has volume unlocked (e.g., AUD), pressing VOL +, VOL -, or MUTE, will control the device’s volume only in its own mode.

UNLOCKING ALL VOLUME CONTROL

(RESTORING DEFAULT SETTING)

NOTE: Performing these instructions will

restore independent volume control for all programmed devices (e.g., TV volume control in TV mode, VCR volume in VCR mode, etc.).

1. On the remote control, press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 9 3 and then press VOL + once. The LED will blink four times.

3. Volume will again be independently controlled according to its default states for all programmed devices.

RESTORING FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) includes a Setup Code Reset program. You can use it to restore all your programmed codes to factory settings and delete all custom programming.

IMPORTANT: Executing this program erases all code settings and all custom settings including, Macros, Learned Keys, Reassigned Device Keys, Keymoved Keys, Favorite Channels, and all device settings.

1. On the remote control, press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

2. Enter 9 8 0. The LED will blink four times.

3. Your remote is now ready for programming.

ABOUT UPGRADING

The One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00) has the largest infrared code library available. However, if you purchase a brand new home entertainment or home automation device, it may not res po nd t o the c odes s to red in the remote control's memory.

If this happens, please contact our Custom er Support department (see “Troubleshooting” on page 16) to upgrade the remote control. The Customer Support representative will search our entire database for a code that matches y our d evice and instruct yo u how t o enter it into your One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00).

If the code for your home entertainment or home automation device is not in our database, we will need to “capture” the code for that device from its original remote control. A new code would then be created and entered into your One For All 6L Universal Remote Control with Learning (URC-6820 B00). If necessary, the Customer Support representative can ins truct yo u how to begin the capture procedure.

NOTE: One Fo r A ll r eserves the right t o r eplac e a returned remote control with a new one of equal or superior functionality.

UPGRADE EXCLUSIONS

•Home entertainment or home automation device s controlled by radio frequency (RF/UHF), wired, or ultrasonic remote controls. Only devices controlled by infrared remote controls are covered.

•Home entertainment or home automation devices not controlled by remote controls.

•Broken or defective product.

•Products that operate over 100 kHz.

•Infrared keyboards and infrared pointing devices (such as mouse substitutes).

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM: LED (red light) does not

blink when you press a key.

SOLUTION: Replace batteries with two

press a key, but home entertainment device does not respond.

SOLUTION: Make sure the remote

control is aimed at your home entertainment device and is not farther than 15 feet away.

home entertainment devices or commands are not working properly.

PROBLEM: Changing channels does

SOLUTION: If the original remote

control required pressing ENTER to change channels, then press ENTER on the remote control after entering the channel number .

PROBLEM: During learning, LED

emits a long blink after pressing and holding key to be learned.

SOLUTION: Memory is full or a bad

capture has occurred. Avoid high-ambient light sources, such as direct daylight and ﬂuorescent bulbs. Try readjusting positions of remote controls before performing the procedure again.

PROBLEM: Tried Searching For Y our

Code method and still could not ﬁnd a working code.

SOLUTION: Clear the device key as

PROBLEM: CH+ and CH- do not work

for your RCA TV.

INTRODUCTION

La télécommande pour 6 composants avec fonction d’apprentissage de One For All (modèle URC-6820 B00), préprogrammée avec la bibliothèque de codes la plus complète, a été conçue pour faire fonctionner un maximum de dix composants de divertissement domestique, dont les téléviseurs, magnétoscopes, lecteurs DVD, câblosélecteurs, récepteurs d’antenne parabolique et composants audio. La télécommande nécessite quatre (4) piles ‘AAA’ alcalines neuves (non incluses) pour pouvoir activer et programmer efﬁcacement vos com po sants. Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats, veuillez lire les instructions ci-incluses et les suivre méticuleusement. De plus, conservez ce guide pour toute référence ultérieure.

Le voyant à DEL (voyant lumineux de couleur rouge), situé sous la touche de mise en marche/arrêt POWER, clignote pour vous indiquer que la télécommande fonctionne et qu’elle émet des signaux..

Appuyez une fois sur les touches du TV,

CBL/SAT, VCR, DVD, PVR, ou AUD pour

choisir le composant de divertissement domestique que vous désirez activer.

Appuyez une fois sur la touche POWER aﬁn de mettre le composant sélectionné en marche/arrêt. Pour contrôler la commande de mise en/hors fonction principale, consultez la section ‘Programmer la mise en/hors fonction principale en tant que macro-instruction ’ d e la page 31.

Utilisez les touches du curseur pour

déplacer le curseur dans les écrans du menu et du guide de la programmation.

Utilisez la touche OK pour choisir les options du menu ou du guide du composant sélectionné.

En mode du récepteur/ampli RCVR/AMP, utilisez la touche ‘OK’ pour régler le son ambiophonique. Utilisez la ﬂèche de déplacement vers le

haut (ou le bas ) ) pour

monter (ou diminuer) le niveau du volume. Les ﬂèches de

déplacement

(ou ) servent à ajuster la balance vers la gauche (ou la droite).

Utilisez les touches de montée/diminution du volume VOL + (ou VOL-) aﬁn d’augmenter (ou diminuer) le niveau de volume.

Appuyez une fois sur la touche de suppression du son MUTE aﬁn de couper le son ; appuyez une autre fois pour le remettre en fonction.

Dans les modes du TV, VCR, DVD ou CBL/SAT use FAV pour effectuer le balayage de vos canaux préférés et/ou les canaux réguliers. (Référez-vous aux sections ‘Utiliser le balayage des canaux’ et “PROGRAMMER LE BALAYAGE DES CANAUX PRÉFÉRÉS” de la page 35.)

Utilisez les touches de montée/diminution des canaux CH + (ou CH -) aﬁn de syntoniser les canaux du composant sélectionné vers le haut (ou le bas).

Appuyez une fois sur la touche PREV uaﬁn de rappeler le dernier canal visionné et revenir en arrière d’une page dans le menu principal à l’écran.

Dans les modes AUD, DVD et CD, utiilisez la touche DISC si vous désirez changer le disque (si cette fonction est disponible sur votre composant).

Utilisez les touches numériques (1-9 et

0) pour choisir directement les canaux (par exemple, le 009 ou 031).

Dans le mode ‘AUD’, utilisez le clavier numérique (1 - 9 et

0) aﬁn de choisir les sources audio de 1 à

10.

Appuyez une fois sur la touche d'entrée ENTER après avoir entré le numéro du canal pour certains modèles de téléviseurs.

En mode CD, utilisez la touche ENTER pour ajouter la dizaine (10) à l’entrée des chiffres (par exemple, appuyez sur ENTER suivi de 7 aﬁn d’obtenir 17).

Utilisez la touche INPUT aﬁn de changer les entrées du téléviseur et visionner soit les télédiffusions (TV), soit la programmation des composants vidéo raccordés au téléviseur.

Utilisez les touches de transport pour contrôler votre enregistreur vidéo personnel/ numérique, magnétoscope, lecteur CD ou DVD ou le service de vidéo sur demande (‘Video On Demand’ ; télé à la carte), si ce service vous est offert par votre câblodistributeur ou fournisseur d’antenne parabolique.

Pour enregistrer une programmation sur votre magnétoscope ou enregistreur DVD, appuyez sur la touche d’enregistrement REC.

Après avoir programmé une macro-instruction, appuyez une fois sur la touche M1 à M2 aﬁn d’exécuter la séquence désirée. (Référez-vous à la section “UTILISER LES MACROINSTRUCTIONS” de la page 31.)

Utilisez la touche PIP pour faire apparaître ou disparaîtr e l’image en médaillon à l’écran de votre téléviseur (si celui-ci possède cette fonction).

La touche MOVE sert à déplacer l’image en médaillon à différentes positions dans l’écran principal.

La touche SWAP sert à permuter l’ima ge et le son entre celle de l’écran principal et celle de l’image en médaillon et vice versa.

Appuyez sur la touche de minuteriesommeil SLEEP aﬁn d’activer la fonction de minuteriesommeil du composant désiré (cette fonction n’est pas disponible pour tous les composants).

Utilisez la touche CC pour activer les soustitres. Si vous possédez un enregistreur vidéo personnel/ numérique, u tilisez la touche SHOWS (émissions) pour accéder à votre liste d’émissions enregistrées.

Utilisez la touche FORMAT pour changer le rapport d’aspect de votre écran d’afﬁchage (16 :9). Si vous possédez un enregistreur vidéo personnel/ numérique, u tilisez la touche LIVE (en direct) pour revenir à la programmation en direct.

Utilisez la touche +100 si vous devez appuyer sur cette touche pour accéd er à des canaux supérieurs à 100 (tel que le demande la télécommande originale). Utilisez la fonction (-) pour accéder à vos canaux HD (haute déﬁnitio n) ; par exemple, si votre canal HD est 2.5, appuyez sur 2 (-) 5.

1. Appuyez sur la partie supérieure de la languette située à l'arrière de votre télécommande URC-6820, à l’endroit indiqué par les ﬂèches. Retirez le couvercle.

2. Obtenga dos (2) ba t erías alcalinas AAA nuevas y colóquelas en el compartimento de igual manera a la indicada por los símbolos de pola ridad + y - en el interior.

3. Vuelva a colocar la tapa. La lengüeta hará “clic” para indicar que la tapa está cerrada.

4. Testez la télécommande en appuyant d’abord sur la touche de mise en marche/arrêt POWER, puis sur la touche de n’importe quel composant (par exemple, le téléviseur TV). Si les piles ne sont pas insérées correctement, le voyant à DEL (de couleur rouge) clignotera une fois.

REMARQUE: Lorsque les piles sont faibles, la télécommande clignotera cinq fois après chaque pression des touches. La télécommande cessera de f onctionner lorsque les piles doivent être remplacées. La fonction de mémoire permanente garantit que vos codes sont programmés de façon déﬁnitive et qu ’ils ne s’effaceront pas, même lors du changement des piles.

INITIALISER VOS COMPOSANTS

La télécommande pour 6 composants avec fonction d’apprentissage de One For All (modèle URC-6820 B00) est préprogrammée à l’usine pour faire fonctionner un téléviseur, lecteur DVD et magnétoscope de Sony), un câblosélecteur Motorola, un enregistreur vidéo personnel Tivo, un récepteur de Sony , un récepteur de Pioneer. Pour contrôler les composants autres que les marques par défaut, effectuez les étapes suivantes, sinon, sautez pardessus cette section :

REMARQUE: Pour contrôler les composants combinés, consultez la section suivante.

1. Mettez votre composant en marche (par exemple, un téléviseur, magnétoscope ou lecteur DVD) et s’il y a lieu, insérez le support magnétique ou optique (la cassette ou le disque, par exemple).

REMARQUE: Veuillez lire entièrement les

étapes 2 à 4 avant de procéder. Mettez en surbrillance ou transcrivez les codes correspondant au composant que vous désirez programmer avant de procéder à l’étape 2.

2. Sur la télécommande, appuyez une fo is sur la touche d’un composant (par exemple,, TV, CBL/SAT, VCR, DVD, CD, PVR, AUD ou AUX).

3. Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée jusqu’à ce que le voyant à DEL rouge clignote deux fois, puis relâchez la touche.

4. Utilisez les codes des fabricants (débutant à la page 46) pour trouver le type de composant et le nom de la marque , puis entrez le premier code à quatre chiffres pour votre composant. Si vous avez effectué correctement la procédure, le voyant à DEL clignotera deux fois.

REMARQUE: Si le voyant à DEL ne clignote pas deux fois, répétez les étapes 2 à 4 et entrez de nouveau le même code.

5. Pointez la télécommande en direction du composant et appuyez une fois sur la touche POWER. Le composant devrait se mettre hors fonction. S’il ne le fait pas, répétez les étapes 2 à 5 en essayant chacun des codes correspondant à votre marque, jusqu’à ce que vous en trouviez un qui fonctionne. Si, malgré ceci, vous n’obtenez aucun résultat, essayez la méthode ‘Rechercher votre code’ de la page 30.

REMARQUE: Si le composant ne possède pas de touche de mise en marche/arrêt POWER,

appuyez sur la touche de lecture PLAY’ .

6. Répétez les étapes 1 à 5 pour chaque composant que vous désirez contrôler. Pour toute référence ul térieure, écrivez chacun des codes des composants dans les cases ci-dessous :

30 RECHERCHER VOTRE CODE

de One Fo r All (modèle URC-6820 B00) pour qu’elle contrôle vos composants combinés, tels qu’un télé/magnétoscope, télé/lecteur DVD, récepteur d’antenne parabolique/ enregistreur vidéo personnel/numérique, cinéma maison dans une boîte et beaucoup d’autres à l’aide d’un seul code. Pour obtenir la liste complète des composants combinés, consultez le ‘Tableau des composants’ de la page 27.

REMARQUE: Certains combi nés pos séden t des codes que vous pouvez programmer sur des touches de composants séparées. Par exemple, vous pouvez programmer le combiné lecteur DVD/magnétoscope sous les touches des modes VCR ou DVD. Référez-vous à la section’Codes de réglage pour les combinés lecteurs DVD/magnétoscopes) de la page 59 ; notez qu’il y a deux sections sous ce type de composant.

Faites ce qui suit pour contrôler un co m b iné télé/lecteur DVD :

1. Mettez v otre combiné télé/lecteur DVD en marche et insérez un disque DVD.

REMARQUE: Veuillez lire entièrement les étapes 2-4 avant de procéder. Mettez en surbrillance ou transcrivez les codes correspondant au composant que vous désirez programmer avant de procéder à l’étape 2.

2. Appuyez sur la touche TV de la télécommande.

3. Sur la URC-6820, maintenez la touche d'initialisation SET enfoncée jusqu'à ce que le voyant à DEL rouge clignote deux fois, puis relâchez SET.

4. Utilisez les codes de réglage, sous l’entête des combinés télé/lecteurs DVD (utilisez les codes ﬁgurant à la section des Codes des téléviseurs), à la page 56. Trouvez le nom de la marque et entrez le premier code à quatre chiffres pour

votre composant. Si vous avez exécuté correctement cette étape, le voyant à DEL clignotera deux fois.

REMARQUE: Si le voyant à DEL ne clignote pas deux fois, répétez les étapes 2 à 4 e t en trez le même code de nouveau.

5. Pour vériﬁer si le code fonctionne, pointez la téléc o mmande URC-6820 en direction de votre composant et appuyez une fois sur POWER. Votre composant devrait se mettre hors fonction. S'il ne réagit pas, répétez les étapes de 2 à 4 en essayant chacun des codes correspondant à votre marque jusqu'à ce que vous en trouviez un qui fonctionne. Si vous êtes toujours sans succès, essayez la méthode de Rechercher votre code ci-dessous..

RECHERCHER VOTRE CODE

Si, après avoir essayé tous les codes correspondant à votre marque, votre composant ne répond pas à la télécommande URC-6820 ou si votre marque n'apparaît pas sur les listes, vous pouvez effectuer une recher c h e d e code. Par exemple, pour tro uver man uellement le c ode de votre téléviseur :

1. Mettez votre téléviseur en marche et appuyez une fois sur TV.

2. Sur la URC-6820, maintenez la touche SET enfoncée jusqu'à ce que le voyant à DEL (voyant rouge) clignote deux fois, puis relâchez SET.

3. Entrez les chiffres 9-9-1. Le voyant à DEL clignotera deux fois.

4. Choisissez une fonction à tester à partir de la liste ci-dessous ou utilisez la fonction-test par défaut POWER (mise en marche-arrêt) et sautez pardessus l’étape 4.

REMARQUE: Les touches pouvant être utilisées pour la fonction-test sont 0, 1, 2, 3, POWER, VOL+, PLAY (lecture), STOP(arrêt) et MUTE (sourdine).

5. Appuyez sur la touche CH+ pour commencer la recherche de votre code. Arrêtez la recherche lorsque le composant se met hors fonction ou exécute la fonction choisie à l’étape 4 (s’il s’agit d’une fonction autre que

POWER)..

REMARQUE: En mode de recherche manuelle,

la télécommande URC-6820 émettra des codes infrarouges à partir de sa librairie de codes vers le composant sélectionné, en commençant par le code le plus populaire. Chaque pression de la touche CH+ enverra un nouveau code. Si vous dépassez le code qui a effectué la fonction-test, vous pouvez revenir en arrière en appuyant sur la touche CH-.

6. Pour verrouiller le code, appuyez sur la touche SET et relâchez-la. Le voyant à DEL clignote deux fois.

7. Pour r ech erc her les codes d e vo s au tres composants, répétez les étapes 1 à 6, mais substituez la touche du composant approprié pour le composant que vous recherchez à l’étape 1.

VÉRIFIER LES CODES

Si, après avoir utilisé la Recherche des code s pour initailiser votre télécommande, vous désirez savoir lequel des codes à quatre chiffres fait fonctionner votre appareil,

procédez comme suit. Par exemple, pour obtenir le code de votre téléviseur :

1. Appu eyz une f ois sur la touch e TV de la télécommande.

2. Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée jusqu’à ce que le voyant à DEL clignote deux fois, puis relâchez SET.

3. Appuyez sur 9-9-0. Le voyant à DEL clignotera deux fois.

4. Pour obtenir le premier des quatre chiffres de votre code, appuy ez une fois sur 1. Attendez trois secondes et comptez le nombre de clignotements du voyant à DEL lumineux (par exemple : 3 clignotements = 3) et écrivez ce chiffr e dan s le premier carré de gauche des cases réservées au téléviseur TV, à la page 29.

REMARQUE: Si le voyant ne clignote pas, le chiffre est le zéro.

5. Répétez l’étape 4 tr ois f ois de p lus po ur obtenir les autres chiffres. Appuyez sur le 2 pour le deuxième chiffre, sur 3 pour le troisième et sur 4 pour le quatrième. Écrivez ces chiffres dans les autres cases de la page 29.

6. Pour trouver les codes de vos autres composants, répétez les étapes 1 à 5 et substituez simplement la touche de chaque composant que vous vériﬁez. Écrivez les codes dans les cases appropriées, à la page 29.

UTILISER LES MACROINSTRUCTIONS

32 UTILISER LES MACRO-INSTRUCTIONS

(modèle URC-6820 B00) peuvent être réglées pour effectuer une suite d e fo nction s répétitives et longues à la simple pression d’une touche.

Une macro-instruction peut être utilisée pour contrôler une opération de cinéma maison, régler un canal préféré ou pour d’autres fonctions diverses que vous désirez contrôler à la pression d’une seule touche. De plus, chaque touche ‘macro’ peut con t enir un maximum de 20 pressions de touches.

REMARQUE: Vous effacerez la macroinstruction originale en programmant une nouvelle macro-instruction.

PROGRAMMER UN CANAL PRÉFÉRÉ

Avec le grand nombre de canaux que l’on peut se pr ocurer aujourd ’hui par l’en tr emise de son fournisseur de câblodistribution ou des antennes paraboliques, vous pouvez programmer une macro-instruction qui choisit directement un canal préféré à la pression d’une seule touche.

Par exemple, présumons que vos émissions préférées sont sur le canal 52. Suivez les instructions ci-dessous pour programmer une macro-instruction qui vous permettra d’accéder directement à ce canal :

REMARQU: Cet exemple prend pour acquis que le téléviseur est syntonisé à la bonne entrée pour visionner la programmation de votre câblosélecteur.

1. Sur la URC-6820, maintenez la touche d'initialisation SET enfoncée jusqu’à ce que le voyant à DEL clignote deux fois, puis relâchez SET.

2. Entrez le 9-9-5. Le voyant à DEL clignotera deux fois.

3. Choisissez une touche de macroinstruction disponible (par exemple, M1) et appuyez une fois sur celle-ci.

4. Appu yez une fois s ur la t o uc he CBL/SAT.

5. Entrez le numéro du canal : 5-2.

REMARQUE: Si vous avez accès à des canaux supérieurs à 100, ajoutez un zéro avant les numéros à deux chiffres, 0-5-2. De plus, si vous devez appuyer sur la va li dation d’entrée ENTER après la sélection du canal, appuyez également sur ENTER(par exemple, 0-5-2-

Enter). REMARQUE: Vous pouvez programmer un

maximum de 20 fonctions sur les touches de macro-instructions.

6. Maintenez enfoncée la touche SET jusqu’à ce que le voyant à DEL clignote deux fois, puis relâchez SET.

Vous pouvez maintenant appuyer sur la touche M1 ; vous aurez instantanément accès au canal 52 de votre téléviseur.

PROGRAMMER LA MISE EN/HORS FONCTION PRINCIPALE EN TANT QUE MACRO-INSTRUCTION

Par défaut, la touche de mise en/hors fonction POWER de la télécommande pour 6 composants avec fonction d’apprentissage de One For All (modèle URC-6820 B00) pourra mettre en/hors fonction individuellement vos composants de divertissement domestique. •N’utilisez pas les touches suivantes pour la fonction d’apprentissage : les touches des composants, les touches SETUP, FAV ou d’enregistrement (•).

•La capacité d’apprentissage est d’environ de 50 à 70 touches, selon le code que vous tentez de programmer.

•Si vous attribuez la même touche sur la fonction d’apprentissage et le déplacement des touches, la dernière fonction programmée est celle qui sera stockée.

•Une fonction apprise ne peut pas être utilisée en tant que source pour le déplacement des touches ‘KEYMOVER’ (consulter la section Utiliser le déplacement des touches à la page 38).

La télécommande pour 6 composants avec fonction d’apprentissage de One For All (modèle URC-6820 B00) possède la plus grande librairie de codes infrarouges disponible. Par contre, si vous achetez un composant de divertissement domestique ou d’automatisation récent, il se peut que celui-ci ne réponde pas aux codes stockés dans la mémoire de la télécommande.

Si cela se produit, veuillez communiquer avec notre département du service à la clientèle (voir la section ‘Guide de dépannage’ à la page 41) aﬁn de mettre votre télécommande URC-6820 à niveau. Au besoin, le représentant du service à la clientèle vous mon trera c ommen t début er la procédure de saisie des codes.

REMARQUE: One Fo r All se réserve le dr o it de remplacer une télécommande qui lui est retournée par une autre télécommande dont les fonctions sont égales ou supérieures.

•Les composants de divertissement ou d’automatisation domestique contrôlés par des télécommandes à fréquences radio (RF/UHF), avec ﬁls ou ultrasoniques. Seuls les composants contrôlés par signal infrarouge sont couverts.

•Les composants de divertissement ou d’automatisation domestique qui ne sont pas contrôlés par des télécommandes.

•Les produits brisés ou défectueux.

•Les produits qui fonctionnent sur des fréquences supérieures à 100 kHz.

•Les claviers et dispositifs de pointage (souris de remplacement, par exemple) qui fo nctionnent pa r signaux infrarouges.

•Tous les produits vendus et/ou utilisés à l’extérieur des Etats-Unis, d’Hawaï, d’Alaska ou du Canada.

Solution: Assurez-vous de bien

pointer la télécommande en direction du composant de divertissement domestique et que vous êtes à moins de quinze pieds du composant que vous désirez contrôler.

Problème: L’appareil ne fait pas

fonctionner vos composants de divertissement domestique ou les commandes ne fonctionnent pas correctement.

Solution: Essayez tous les codes

énumérés pour les composants que vous désirez initialiser. Assurezvous qu’ils puissent être activés par le biais d’une télécommande à infrarouges.

Problème: Vous avez des difﬁcultés à

programmer un combiné téléviseur/magnétoscope.

Solution: Essayez les codes

d'initialisation du magnétoscope VCR pour votre marque. Certaines marques de combinés peuvent nécessiter simultanément les codes du téléviseur TV et du magnétoscope VCR pour l’opération de toutes les fonctions.

Problème: Vous éprouvez des

difﬁcultés à changer les canaux.

Solution:Si votre télécommande

Solution: La mémoire est pleine ou

une mauvaise saisie du signal infrarouge s’est produite. Évitez les lumières ambiantes trop puissantes, telles que la lumière directe du soleil et les éclairages ﬂuorescents au néon. Essayez de repositionner les télécommandes avant de recommencer la programmation d’apprentissage.

Problème: J’ai essayé la méthode de

Recherche du code et je n’ai pas pu trouver un code fonctionnel.

Solution:Effacez la touche de

composant en suivant la procédure ci-dessous : Maintenez la touche SET enfoncée, jusqu’à ce que le voyant à DEL (rouge) clignote deux fois, puis relâchez-la. Ensuite, entrez le 9-9-2. Ensuite, appuy ez deux fois sur la touche de composant à effacer. Maintenant, répétez la méthode de Recherche du code décrite à la page 30.

Problème: Les fonctions de montée/

diminution des canaux CH + et CH- ne fonctionnent pas sur votre téléviseur RCA.

Solution: À cause du design des

téléviseurs RCA (de 1983 à
