sound mind, and not under the inuence of any drugs or alcohol, who has been trained in the correct operation of this machine, and is wearing authorized, proper safety clothing. Any modication to the machine voids any warranty, and may cause harm to individuals using the machine or in the vicinity of the machine while in operation.

CHECK PACKAGE UPON ARRIVAL

Upon receipt of an Omcan shipment please inspect for external damage. If no damage is evident on the external packaging, open carton to ensure all ordered items are within the box, and there is no concealed damage to the machine. If the package has suffered rough handling, bumps or damage (visible or concealed), please note it on the bill of lading before accepting the delivery and contact Omcan within 24 hours, so we may initiate a claim with the carrier. A detailed report on the extent of the damage caused to the machine must be

lled out within three days, from the delivery date shown in the shipping documents. Omcan has no recourse

for damaged products that were shipped collect or third party.

Before operating any equipment, always read and familiarize yourself with all operation and safety

instructions.

Omcan would like to thank you for purchasing this machine. It’s of the utmost importance to save these instructions for future reference. Also save the original box and packaging for shipping the

equipment if servicing or returning of the machine is required.

Safety and Warranty

DO NOT

1. Do not use this appliance to crush anything other than square or cylindrical ice cubes not exceeding 30 mm³ in size.

2. Do not use this appliance to crush frozen foods.

3. No not insert objects into the crushed ice outlet opening (9).

4. Do not clean with a water jet.

5. The base must not be immersed in water.

6. Do not use the appliance if the power supply cord is damaged. It must be replaced by either a Omcan

approved dealer or a person with similar qualications to avoid any danger.

7. The appliance must be unplugged before any intervention on it: cleaning, general care, maintenance.

8. It is forbidden to operate the appliance on a surface with a slope in excess of 10° with respect to the horizontal plane. The feet of the machine must always be resting on this surface.

9. The use of spare parts other than certied original parts is prohibited.

10. Never connect several appliances to the same power socket.

11. Never use the machine outdoors.

12. Never place the appliance close to or on a source of heat.

13. This appliance is a professional machine designed exclusively for professional use. It is not designed for household use.

Note: You will nd it easier to understand the next few paragraphs if you refer to the diagrams at the

end of this manual.

14. This appliance is not designed for use by people (including children) whose physical, sensorial or mental capacities are impaired or by people with no experience or knowledge, unless they have been supervised or given training in the use of the appliance beforehand by a person responsible for their safety. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

INSTALLATION AND HANDLING

The machine can be handled by a single person. It is recommended that the appliance be placed on a table or work top for more comfortable use with the controls facing you (recommended height: 90 cm, to be adapted as

required for the user).

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Line protection: the machine should be connected to a standard 2-pole + ground electric socket. The set-up

must be tted with a differential circuit breaker and a 16A fuse. The appliance must be grounded (g. B).

CARE

• Before connecting the machine, check that the main electrical voltage is the same as the voltage for your

appliance.

• If the power cable (10) is damaged, it should be replaced by a Omcan approved dealer, Omcan or a person with similar qualications to avoid any danger.

USING FOR THE 1ST TIME

Carefully clean the parts of the machine in contact with the ice cubes (g. A).

• Grip the handle of the cover (2) to unlock it, then lift it up to gain access to the ice cube hopper (3). Clean the cover (1), hopper (3), ice bucket (6) with a non-abrasive sponge and standard washing up liquid.

Safety and Warranty

RECYCLING THE PRODUCT AT THE END OF ITS SERVICE LIFE

This equipment is marked with the selective sorting symbol relating to wastes from electrical and electronic equipment. It signies that this product should be taken over by a selective collection system conforming to the Guideline 2002/96/EC (WEEE) – part Professional Equipment – so that it can be either recycled or

dismantled in order to reduce any impact on the environment. For more information, please contact your

Retailer or the Omcan. For eliminating or recycling components of equipment, please contact a specialized

company or contact Omcan. The electronic products not undergoing a selective sorting are potentially dangerous for the environment. The damaging materials should be eliminated or recycled according to the regulations in force.

1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOUR BENCH WARRANTY

Within the warranty period, contact Omcan Inc. At 1-800-465-0234 to schedule a drop off to either an Omcan authorized service depot in the area, or to an Omcan Service warehouse to repair the

equipment.

Unauthorized maintenance will void the warranty. Warranty covers electrical and part failures, not

improper use.

WARNING:

The packaging components are classied as normal solid urban waste and can therefore be disposed of without difculty.

In any case, for suitable recycling, we suggest disposing of the products separately (differentiated waste) according to the current norms.

Operation

USING THE APPLIANCE

START-UP:

Assembly and preparation (Fig. A).

1. Place the drip tray (8) and its holder (7) under the crushing unit (9).

USING:

1. Switch on the appliance by plugging in the power cable.

2. Fill the ice bucket (6) with blocks of ice (see warning paragraph).

3. Pour the contents of the ice bucket into the ice cube hopper (3) (g. C).

4. Close and lock the cover (1) of the hopper.

5. Place the ice bucket (without its cover) on the drip tray (8) (g. D).

6. Press the button corresponding to the size of crushed ice required. The left-hand button (5) is provided to obtain small-sized crushed ice. The right-hand button (4) is provided to obtain big-sized crushed ice.

7. (The crushed ice falls into the ice bucket) (g. E).

HOW TO STOP THE MACHINE:

The appliance is stopped either by:

1. Pressing the button corresponding to the size of crushed ice being made “Button lit up” (4 or 5).

2. Opening up the cover (1).

3. Or unplugging the power cable plug.

Operation

CHOOSING THE SIZE OF CRUSHED ICE:

The appliance does not require any adjustment.

The left-hand button (5) is provided to obtain small-sized crushed ice. The right-hand button (4) is provided to obtain big-sized crushed ice.

USING THE MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC MODE:

Manual mode

Prolonged pressing of one of the buttons (4 or 5) starts up the manual mode. The motor runs for as long as the push button is pressed then stops as soon as it is released.

Automatic mode

Brief pressing of one of the buttons (4 or 5) starts up the automatic mode. The motor runs for a set

programmed time (1 minute) then stops.

Note: the timer cannot be adjusted. The preset time corresponds to complete crushing of the 1.3 kg of ice (maximum hopper capacity).

During the automatic cycle, briey pressing of the button for the size of crushed ice in progress (button lit up) will stop the appliance (timer initialization). During the automatic cycle, briey pressing of the button for the

other size of crushed ice in progress (button NOT lit up) will change the crushed ice size without initializing the timer.

Opening the cover (1) during the automatic cycle will stop the motor. Closing the cover (1) will start the motor back up. The cycle resumes where it was as soon as the cover is closed (timer not initialized on opening/ closing of cover).

CLEANING

IMPORTANT:

• In every case, the machine should be stopped and the machine’s power cable unplugged.

• Cleaning with a water spray or pressure spray is not permitted.

SAFETY / MAINTENANCE

MOTOR OVERLOAD SAFETY FEATURE:

If the motor gets blocked (foreign or hard matter), the appliance will perform 2 successive blade rotation direction changes to make it easier for the hard matter to go through. The appliance will then resume its normal cycle. If the 2 direction changes are not enough to overcome this problem, the appliance will then go into

the safety state and the motor will stop. The safety state is signaled by simultaneously ashing of both push

buttons (4) and (5). In this case: To overcome the fault: remove the foreign matter from the crushing unit, then

initialize the appliance (hold the 2 push buttons (4) and (5) down for 2 seconds). If the problem persists, switch off the power supply to the machine (unplug the power cord from the mains socket) and call in the maintenance service or contact a Omcan approved dealer.

MOTOR OVERHEATING SAFETY FEATURE:

In the event of the motor overheating, the appliance stops automatically. The protection device is reset automatically, wait for the motor to cool down (15 to 30 seconds) before starting the machine back up.

If the problem persists, switch off the power supply to the machine (unplug the power cord from the mains socket) and call in the maintenance service or contact a Omcan approved dealer.

SAFE ACCESS TO THE TOOLS:

The appliance can only be started up if the cover (1) is closed.

• Opening the cover (1) will stop the machine and the moving parts. The machine is started back up as soon as the cover is closed (1).

• A cut in the mains power supply will stop the machine. One of the two push buttons (4) or (5) must be pressed in order to start the machine back up.

For safety reasons, do not place your nger or part of your hand into the crushed ice outlet opening, even if it is blocked up by a clump of crushed ice. In this case, refer to the “Troubleshooting” section.

MAINTENANCE:

Before carrying out any work on the appliance, it is essential to unplug it from the mains and to discharge the

motor starting capacitor.

IMPORTANT:

Use of spare parts other than certied original parts is prohibited.

This machine requires no particular maintenance because the bearings are lubricated for life. If work is required to replace worn parts such as the crushing blades, electrical or other components, refer to

the parts list (see exploded view at the end of the manual).

Troubleshooting

FAULT FINDING

Carefully determine the reason for the appliance stopping. In all circumstances, if the problem persists, switch off the appliance (unplug the mains power cord plug) and call on someone from the maintenance department or contact an approved Omcan dealer.

Troubleshooting

The appliance does not start

• Check: the mains power supply and the condition of the power cable.

• Check that the luminous indicator lamp at the outlet of the crushing unit (9) goes on for approximately ten

seconds when the appliance is connected to the mains power supply.

• Check that there is no foreign matter stuck between the blades.

• Inside the appliance, check the condition of the electric wires and connections (at the grommet (12) and the connection block (13) (g. F).

• Check the electrical components by changing them one at a time (capacitor, cover safety device, electronic

module, motor).

The machine stops because the motor has overheated: (the motor unit is hot). In the event of the motor overheating, the appliance will stop automatically. The protection device is reset automatically, wait for the motor to cool down (15 to 30 seconds) before starting the machine back up.

The appliance stops further to an overload

• Foreign matter between the blades and intensive use can lead to motor overload.

• Under these circumstances, either the thermal protection or the excess current protection may be activated

and stop the machine operating.

• If the machine is hot, refer to the section “The machine stops because the motor has overheated”.

• If not, refer to the “motor overload safety feature” section.

The appliance continues to operate after processing all the ice cubes

• In automatic mode, the appliance operates according to a non-adjustable timer set to 1 minute (time required to process a whole hopper load on small size).

• Press the button which is lit up in order to go back to manual mode and stop the appliance.

Both buttons ash simultaneously

• The appliance stops further to a motor overload. To overcome this, refer to the “motor overload safety feature” section.

The crushed ice does not drop into the ice bucket

• The appliance is designed to crush the whole capacity of a standard ice cube tray in one go.

• If too many ice cubes are loaded into the hopper or if an ice bucket which is too small is used, the crushed

ice level gradually builds up to the outlet opening. As the crushed ice cannot fall down, it is compacted in the crushing unit. Just removing the ice bucket will not be enough to unblock the crushed ice outlet opening.

IMPORTANT:

Do not insert hard objects into the crushed ice outlet opening when the appliance is in operation.

SOLUTION:

• Stop the appliance.

• Empty the ice bucket (lled with crushed ice).

• Fill the ice cube hopper and start the automatic cycle of each size back up again.

• Wait a few moments for the ice to melt if required.

1. Ne pas utiliser cet appareil pour écraser autre chose que carrés ou cylindriques glaçons ne dépassant pas 30 mm³ de taille.

UTILISER POUR LE MOMENT 1ST

Nettoyer soigneusement les parties de la machine en contact avec les cubes de glace (g. A).

• Saisir la poignée du couvercle (2) pour le déverrouiller, puis soulevez pour avoir accès à la trémie de cube

de glace (3). Nettoyez le couvercle (1), la trémie (3), seau à glace (6) avec une éponge non abrasive et du

liquide vaisselle standard.

OPÉRATION

UTILISER L’APPAREIL

COMMENCEZ:

Assemblée et de la préparation (Fig. A).

1. Placez le bac de récupération (8) et son support (7) sous l’unité de broyage (9).

EN UTILISANT:

1. Allumez l’appareil en branchant le câble d’alimentation.

2. Remplissez le seau à glace (6) avec des blocs de glace (voir le paragraphe d’avertissement).

3. Verser le contenu du seau à glace dans le cube de glace trémie (3) (g. C).

4. Fermer et verrouiller le couvercle (1) de la trémie.

5. Placez le seau à glace (sans son couvercle) sur le bac de récupération (8) (g. D).

6. Appuyez sur le bouton correspondant à la taille de glace pilée nécessaire.

7. Le bouton de gauche (5) est fourni pour obtenir de petite taille de la glace pilée.

8. Le bouton de droite (4) est fourni pour obtenir de grandes dimensions de la glace pilée.

9. (La glace pilée tombe dans le seau à glace) (g. E).

COMMENT ARRÊTER LA MACHINE:

L’appareil est à l’arrêt, soit par:

1. Appuyer sur le bouton correspondant à la taille de glace pilée faite «Bouton illuminé» (4 ou 5).

2. L’ouverture du couvercle (1).

3. Ou de débrancher la prise du câble d’alimentation.

CHOISIR LA TAILLE DE GLACE PILÉE:

L’appareil ne nécessite aucun réglage. Le bouton de gauche (5) est fourni pour obtenir de petite taille de la glace pilée. Le bouton de droite (4) est fourni pour obtenir de grandes dimensions de la glace pilée.

UTILISATION DU MANUEL OU EN MODE AUTOMATIQUE:

Mode manuel

Pression prolongée sur l’un des boutons (4 ou 5) démarre le mode manuel. Le moteur tourne aussi longtemps

que le bouton-poussoir est enfoncé alors arrête dès qu’il est libéré.

Le mode automatique

Brève appuyant sur l’un des boutons (4 ou 5) démarre le mode automatique. Le moteur tourne pour un

ensemble temps programmé (1 minute) puis arrête.

Remarque: la minuterie ne peut pas être réglée. Le temps de pré-ensemble correspond à compléter écrasement de 1,3 kg de glace (capacité maximale de la drague).

Pendant le cycle automatique, un appui bref sur le bouton pour la taille de la glace pilée en cours (bouton allumé) va arrêter l’appareil (minuterie initialisation). Pendant le cycle automatique, un appui bref sur le bouton

pour l’autre la taille de glace pilée en cours (bouton non allumé) va changer la taille de la glace pilée sans initialisation de la minuterie.

L’ouverture du couvercle (1) pendant le cycle automatique arrête le moteur. Fermeture du couvercle (1) démarrera le moteur de sauvegarde. Le cycle reprend là où il a été dès que le couvercle est fermé (minuterie

ne initialisé à l’ouverture / fermeture de la couverture).

NETTOYAGE

IMPORTANT:

• Dans tous les cas, la machine doit être arrêté et le câble d’alimentation de l’appareil débranché.

• Nettoyage avec un jet d’eau ou pulvérisation de pression est interdit.

SÉCURITÉ / ENTRETIEN

SECURITE SURCHARGE MOTEUR:

Si le moteur est bloqué (corps étrangers ou dur), l’appareil effectuera 2 successifs changements de direction de rotation de la lame pour le rendre plus facile pour la question difcile à passer. L’appareil sera ensuite

reprendre son cycle normal. Si les 2 changements de direction ne sont pas assez pour surmonter ce problème, l’appareil se rendra ensuite dans l’état de la sécurité et le moteur va arrêter. L’état de sécurité est signalée par clignoter simultanément des deux boutons poussoirs (4) et (5). Dans ce cas: Pour surmonter la faute: retirer le corps étranger de l’unité de broyage, puis initialiser l’appareil (maintenez les 2 boutons (4) et (5) pendant 2 secondes). Si le problème persiste, éteignez l’alimentation de la machine (débranchez le cordon d’alimentation de la prise de courant) et appeler le service de maintenance ou contacter un revendeur Omcan approuvé.

SECURITE SURCHAUFFE MOTEUR:

En cas de surchauffe du moteur, l’appareil arrête automatiquement. Le dispositif de protection est automatiquement réinitialisé, attendez que le moteur refroidisse (15 à 30 secondes) avant de démarrer la

machine vers le haut.

Si le problème persiste, éteignez l’alimentation de la machine (débranchez le cordon d’alimentation de la prise de courant) et appeler le service de maintenance ou contacter un revendeur Omcan approuvé.

ACCÈS SÉCURITAIRE À LA OUTILS:

L’appareil ne peut être démarré si le couvercle (1) est fermé.

• L’ouverture du couvercle (1) va arrêter la machine et les pièces mobiles. La machine est a commencé dès que le couvercle est fermé (1).

• Une coupure dans le réseau d’alimentation arrêtera la machine. L’un des deux boutons poussoirs (4) ou (5) doit être pressée an de démarrer la machine vers le haut.

Pour des raisons de sécurité, ne placez pas votre doigt ou partie de votre main dans l’ouverture de sortie de

la glace pilée, même si elle est bloquée par un amas de glace pilée. Dans ce cas, reportez-vous à la section «Dépannage».

ENTRETIEN:

Avant d’effectuer tout travail sur l’appareil, il est impératif de le débrancher du secteur et de décharger le moteur condensateur de démarrage.

IMPORTANT:

L’utilisation de pièces de rechange autres que des pièces d’origine certiées est interdite.

Cette machine ne nécessite aucun entretien particulier, les roulements sont graissés à vie.

Si le travail est nécessaire pour remplacer les pièces d’usure telles que les couteaux de broyage, électriques ou d’autres composants, reportez-vous à la liste des composants (voir la vue éclatée en n de manuel).

DÉPANNAGE

TROUVER À REDIRE

Soigneusement déterminer la raison de l’arrêt de l’appareil. Dans tous les cas, si le problème persiste, éteignez l’appareil (débrancher la prise du cordon d’alimentation secteur) et faire appel à une personne du service de maintenance ou contacter un revendeur agréé Omcan.

L’appareil ne démarre pas

• Contrôler: l’alimentation secteur et l’état du câble d’alimentation.

• Vériez que le témoin lumineux de l’indicateur à la sortie de l’unité de broyage (9) se poursuit pendant environ dix secondes lorsque l’appareil est connecté à l’alimentation secteur.

• Vériez qu’il n’y a pas de corps étrangers coincés entre les lames.

• A l’intérieur de l’appareil, vérier l’état des câbles et connexions électriques (à l’oeillet (12) et le bloc de connexion (13) (g. F).

• Vériez les composants électriques en les changeant un à la fois (condensateur, dispositif de sécurité de la couverture, module électronique, moteur).

La machine arrête parce que le moteur a surchauffé: (le bloc moteur est chaud). En cas de surchauffe du moteur, l’appareil arrête automatiquement. Le dispositif de protection est automatiquement réinitialisé, attendez que le moteur refroidisse (15 à 30 secondes) avant de démarrer la machine vers le haut.

L’appareil arrête suite à une surcharge

• Un corps étranger entre les pales et l’utilisation intensive peut conduire à une surcharge du moteur.

• Dans ces circonstances, soit la protection thermique ou l’excès de protection contre les surintensités

peuvent être activés et arrêter la machine de fonctionner.

• Si la machine est chaude, reportez-vous à la section «La machine arrête parce que le moteur a surchauffé».

• Si non, reportez-vous à la section «dispositif de sécurité de surcharge du moteur».

L’appareil continue à fonctionner après que le traitement de tous les cubes de glace

• En mode automatique, l’appareil fonctionne selon un ensemble de minuterie non réglable à 1 minute

(temps nécessaire pour traiter une charge entière de la trémie sur la petite taille).

• Appuyez sur le bouton qui est éclairé an de revenir en mode manuel et arrêter l’appareil.

Les deux boutons clignotent simultanément

• L’appareil arrête suite à une surcharge du moteur. Pour surmonter ce problème, reportez-vous à la section «dispositif de sécurité de surcharge du moteur».

La glace pilée ne tombe pas dans le seau à glace

• L’appareil est conçu pour écraser toute la capacité d’un bac à glaçons standard dans une seule fois.

• Si trop de cubes de glace sont chargés dans la trémie ou si un seau à glace qui est trop petit est utilisé, le niveau de la glace pilée construit progressivement jusqu’à l’ouverture de sortie. Comme la glace pilée ne

puisse pas tomber, elle est compactée dans l’unité de broyage. Juste enlever le seau à glace ne sera pas

sufsant pour débloquer l’ouverture de sortie de la glace pilée.

IMPORTANT:

Ne pas insérer d’objets durs dans l’ouverture de sortie de la glace pilée lorsque l’appareil est en

fonctionnement.

SOLUTION:

• Arrêtez l’appareil.

• Vider le seau à glace (rempli de glace pilée).

• Remplir le réservoir de cube de glace et démarrer le cycle automatique de chaque taille remonter.

• Attendez quelques instants pour fondre la glace si nécessaire.
